From the moment you arrive, you immediately sense the Aloha spirit and the other-worldliness of Kauai's North Shore; Hanalei Bay Villas' surroundings are stunning and beyond beautiful. The unique charm, ideal location, and dramatic beauty provide an island experience to be treasured.
Our island home comfortably accommodates up to five guests. The villa is a traditional Hawaiian-style, two-story design with 1,365 sq ft of living space. To the South, the view looks over a lush green valley toward the rugged interior mountains with cascading waterfalls, shifting clouds, and brilliant rainbows. To the North, the home opens on to the shimmering blue Pacific. The scenic cliff overlook is a great place to take in sunset and to whale watch. These natural surroundings provide a dramatic backdrop to your island retreat; some of the most beautiful scenery on the island is right at home.
The living space, covered lanai, beach closet, and half bath are on the upper/entry level. The lower level of the home has three bedrooms, two full baths, another covered lanai, and laundry area with full size washer/dryer.
The villa sits atop an ocean bluff allowing cooling trade winds to flow through the house keeping it fresh, bright, and comfortable. There are numerous louvered windows throughout, sliding glass doors, ceiling fans, and several area fans. The master and second bedrooms have A/C units for additional sleeping comfort if desired.
The St. Regis Resort is only a short walking distance away. Spend the day being pampered at the Halele'a Spa and in the evening enjoy fine dining at several of the island's favorite restaurants.
Beautiful beaches are also within close walking distance. A steep rugged foot trail leads down to Kenomene Beach (also known as 'Hideaways'), ideal for basking on the warm golden sands or resting under the large shade trees. This 300' stretch of beach is divided by a rock outcropping and offers great snorkeling and coastal views. Pu'u Poa Beach on the eastern shore of Hanalei Bay fronts the St Regis Resort and can be accessed by an outdoor staircase or resort elevator. Follow the foot trail around the bay and during low tide you can wade across the Hanalei River to Hanalei Pier & Beach Pavilion. Here you can rent sea kayaks, boogie boards, surf boards, and stand-up paddle boards to play on the bay.
Within the community of Princeville you will also find gems such as Queen’s Bath, Sea Lodge Beach, and Wyllie Beach. You can play the award winning Maka'i golf course, jog along the 3 mile path, workout at the outdoor fitness circuit, and play tennis at the nearby courts. Princeville Ranch Adventures offers exclusive zip-lining, kayaking and hiking tours on 2,500 acres of private lands on the North Shore of Kaua'i. These guided tours take you to pristine areas that are otherwise inaccessible to the public.
The Princeville Center just two miles away and offers a grocery store, grab and go deli, wine market, convenience store, specialty boutiques, art galleries, full service restaurants and casual courtyard cafes.
Just Down The Road:
Princeville, HI, between Hanalei (4 miles W) and Kilauea (7 mi S), is central to all North Shore attractions and activities. Truly, all are within twelve scenic miles of the villa; including the quaint town of Hanalei, Limahuli National Tropical Botanical Gardens, the pristine Na Pali Coast and the Kalalau Trailhead, Kilauea Point Lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge, and many more hiking trails and beautiful beaches to explore.

Why Donna Chase chose Princeville
We were captivated by the phenomenal views and premier oceanfront location in Princeville. We also found this particular property to be delightfully superior to the average Kaua'i vacation rental providing a true home-away-from-home experience.

Perfect location, perfect home
This was the perfect home base for us on our first trip to Kauai. We could have easily spent every day on the lanai just taking in the view. We did greet the day with coffee and mountains, but spent the rest of the time hiking and sailing and exploring the island. The fully equipped kitchen was big hit as my wife de-stresses by cooking.
We hiked down to Hideaways Beach a couple of times and finally got to Queens Bath the day before we left - both so close by. A short drive to the Powerline Trail was rewarded with a decent 4 mile hike, too. Happy Hour at Happy Talk just down the road was also a lot of fun even in the rain. A week later and we're still wishing for one more shave ice from JoJo's in Hanalei.
It was a struggle to leave this perfect home. Thanks, Donna.
Wonderful stay in paradice!!!
Our 5 weeks stay in Kauai, and in particular in the Chase house was perfect. We found everything needed on arrival. Even multiple baby gear was available, as we where travelling with our two little ones. The place was really clean and welcoming. We felt at home very quickly!
There is much to do in the area, for every age and every type of traveller.
We will remember for long the nice views for the back lanai and from the front of the house.
Mahalo for everything

Unbeatable view from the balcony
We stayed four nights with another couple and loved our stay in this villa. The views from the back patio are amazing, and it was great having beach towels, bags, a cooler, and other amenities at our disposal.
Clean, very well equipped with stunning views. Lots of privacy.
My husband and I spent a week in this well maintained, clean, quiet villa. The view off the back linai was breathtaking! We really did feel as though we were up in a treehouse! Our daily routine included coffe overlooking the rain forest type scenery and an evening cocktail watching the sunset and whale activity from the front of the villa. It did indeed feel like we were in paradise. Great location and so much to do in the northern part of the island. We hope to return in the future.
Outstanding setting and property. The views are spectacular and it's a short walk to pristine, secluded beaches with great snorkeling. Close to the St. Regis Hotel and minutes from Hanalei, there is little reason to go far. The house is well equipped and the owners clearly aim to please.
Nice house with a beautiful view off back deck
We enjoyed staying at this home for our family reunion. The home was very comfortable for 5 adults, and we loved that the owners allowed us to use their beach chairs, beach towels, and snorkel gear. We all enjoyed sitting on the back deck and admiring the mountain view. We had a lot of fun, snorkeling, playing mini golf, shopping, etc. There were some times that I would have liked to have a/c, but the house had fans that we used and they helped a lot. The main drawback to the house was the nearby feral rooster that woke us all up EVERY morning around 5 a.m. Some of us used earplugs; I slept with a pillow over my head. That was why I couldn't give 5 stars.
Thank you, Joan. We are very pleased to know you and your family were comfortable and enjoyed your stay. Sorry, not much we can do about the roosters. They do roam freely on the island and can be found everywhere. Hawaii’s official State bird is the Hawaiian Goose, or Nene, but on Kauai, everyone jokes that the “official” birds of the Garden Island are feral chickens, especially the wild roosters. Many visitors get a kick out of the wild chickens and consider them part of the island's rural charm. As most of Hawaii, we enjoy the trade wind breezes as a way to cool the home. The bedrooms do have air-conditioning units for sleeping comfort if desired - they also help drown out the "morning chorus" of roosters and other tropical birds rising early to greet each day. Again, thank you for your review. Take good care, Donna & Art
