We had a group of 12 friends stay for three nights at the Stanford House and could not be more delighted! The kitchen is great for groups to pitch in with cooking and dishes, the rooms were large enough for us and the entire house was clean. We LOVED the bonfire outside in the evening. Great vacation!

PERFECT for our retreat/gathering!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about our stay was great. The facilities were great, plenty of room for our group, the staff was incredibly helpful, and fantastic ways to get outdoors were literally right there. It was well stocked, we were well taken care of, and the setting was very calming. The property was clean, well maintained, yet not overly modernized as you could still enjoy the age and character of where we were staying. I would highly recommend staying here with your group!

Wonderful, reasonably priced historic home

  • 5 of 5

I was on a cross country trip visiting state and national parks and camping out from my car. I was interested in biking, bird watching and hiking. I stopped at Cuyahoga National Park with the intention of spending one night in a nearby campground. I spoke with some park employees who recommended that I check out the Stanford House for camping. I decided to rent a room in the house for two nights instead. I love historic old houses. This one was very clean, quiet and reasonably priced. The manager was very helpful. It has a kitchen and dining room for guests to use. There were two bathrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Each bathroom accommodates two to three rooms. The upstairs bathrooms are separated into men's and women's. The guests supply their own soap and towels. The manager stays next door and brings a continental breakfast in the morning including fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. I was able to access the bike trail from the house along with a hiking trail to some waterfalls. I also had access to some good bird watching on the grounds and along the trails near the house. It was two of the best nights I had on my trip.

Family Reunion

  • 4 of 5

Very nice. Open plan accommodated around 2o folks. It was very hot. The fans helped and there was A/C in the living room. Perfect for meals. We biked, hiked, cooked, ate, enjoyed the grounds and each-other. This was a great place to have a family reunion.

This is America!

  • 5 of 5

Best viewed in Fall colors! Splendid in any season. Great place smack in the middle of the National Park. Very comfortable and relaxing. Enjoy quiet time , hike til you drop, explore culinary delights of your own making in professional kitchen, sit under star studded sky near roaring campfire, or drift into GC Stanford historical setting. Stanford diary is a "must read" at the house. Staff are the standard of professional hospitality and warmth. Well maintained and true example(s) of conservancy of pure Americana!

We'll be back!

We enjoyed our stay. It was really hot when we were there and we were happy that we had reserved the downstairs room with air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the evening.
