Completely renovated in 2011, this sparkling 5 room unit with spacious, fenced patio is a warm and convenient alternative to boxy hotels and stale corporate apartments. It's freshly furnished with comfortable and functional treatments. This condo is ready for business professionals or small families who need a quiet, temporary, fully-functional home in a compact package. All new surfaces, fixtures and furnishings here. HDTV with DirecTV satellite service (200 channels). And our housekeeper is THE BEST.

The French doors open between the bedrooms to provide an open suite if desired. There is covered parking 5 feet from the entry and overflow parking nearby. Full complement of dishes, utensils, linens, appliances and accessories.
Extremely convenient covered parking (automatically-lighted) at the door. You'll feel at home with the friendly neighbors at this safe enclave in the edge of Houston's famous Memorial Area.
Location provides quick access to Downtown (10 min) via the Silber Tunnel/I10 or to The Galleria (5 min), Reliant Stadium (15 min), Texas Medical Center (15 min) - all via the 610 Loop. The Energy Corridor is 10 minutes on the new Katy SuperFreeway. Ikea is 1/2 mile. Memorial Park and its famed running loop is a 3 minute drive from the door.
The Best of Houston is Minutes away: The Edwards Cinema and MarqE Restaurant and Entertainment complex are 2 minutes away. Restaurants and world-class shopping are in every direction. But in the Memorial Woods Condominiums, it's quiet and cozy.
The patio is comfortable, the Wi-Fi is fast, kitchen is shiny, TV is bright, Satellite is active, neighbors are, well, neighborly. If you're traveling downtown or to the Medical Center, the Memorial bus is a 2 minute walk (see Route 70 at RideMetro org, Stop #4)

You will feel at home at Memorial Woods: The community was built in the 70s but it's well kept, friendly and quiet. Unit is ground level and well-lighted covered parking is at the door. There are new mansions across the fence 100 feet to the south (there's an aging apartment complex nearby too, but we don't have any issues). Our Memorial Woods structures are vintage 70s but most of the units have been remodeled and are owner-occupied year round. You will feel at home at Memorial Woods.
Came to Houston on business but also to visit our son and daughter-in-law who teach at the College of the Mainland. We often stay in condos and homes rather than hotels when we travel. This has been one of the best! The location, attractiveness, and "extras" made this accommodation memorable. The experience of being "iced in" during the cold snap of 2/3/11 could have been horrible. As it was, being in this snug little condo, it was really fun in an odd way. Snow for we Floridians would have been even better but DirecTV, with all the selection, and snacks as well, made the day a positive part of our trip.
We don't know who decorated this little jewel, but it was perfect! I imagine being so close to Ikea was a plus in this result, I am sure! We love Ikea! It's like a playground for those who love home decor.

This is an older Houston condo in excellent, updated, modern condition - one of the early Memorial area complexes sandwiched 1 block either way to I-10 or Memorial Drive - and from a business traveler's perspective, it's everything you need. If you do stay here - and if you don't know Houston's history, be SURE to take a walk through the Memorial neighborhood 2 blocks away. The 2 acre yards, the towering pine trees, the giant spreading live oaks, the peacocks overhead and the incredible diversity of architecture. These are among the most interesting homes you'll ever see.
Yvonne's property was exactly what my family needed for our long stay in Houston. We loved the pool, the neighbors were very friendly, and we always felt safe. It was the perfect location for us and was close to everything we needed. Yvonne was the perfect host and took care of all of our needs. Should we ever find ourselves returning to Houston I would definitely want to stay here again.
We came to town to visit our adult kids, so we didn't spend a lot of time in the condo, but it was a nice, clean, well maintained, and comfortable space for us for sleeping and relaxing. Everything was very clear and straight-forward as far as instructions and information was concerned. The location was good, handy to most of Houston, and to our kids :) I spoke with Yvonne on the phone, and she seemed to be a very friendly, nice lady. Good stay!
This property is very well maintained. It is the perfect quiet hideaway. Convenient to all the major veins in the city. In addition to the basic pots, pans, bedding, there were many convenient extras, including mouth wash, extra toothbrushes, etc.
Ms. Yvonne was a stellar host, always available and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone staying in the Houston area. In my opinion it would best accommodate two adults or two adults with two small children.

I rented this property for four nights primarily due to location and the photographs. We found the unit generally in good condition--not as clean as we would have hoped, but not terrible. The biggest disappointment was the noise level from the unit above and those adjacent. The walls are thin enough to hear the neighbors in normal conversation.
The property is behind a secure gate which we felt was a bonus and had a covered parking space. I did have to telephone the owner because the parking space was in use by a neighbor when we arrived. The owner was very responsive to our questions and replied quickly. There are also plenty of options for shopping and dining within a short drive.
Most of the HomeAway properties we've rented have had personal hygiene products such as shower gel and shampoo available for renters. Not so at this property. We had to make a trip to the market for shower gel and shampoo (which we left).
While the location was good and the property was generally in good condition, we will consider another property the next time we're in town.
