We are a family with 3 grown daughters (aged 34 to 40) and 7 grandchildren who all live in Paris except for one of our daughters who lives in New York. My husband is retired and I work in a bank. My husband also has 3 grown daughters living in London and in California so our family is quite international! Our family reunites each summer in our Corsican house where 2 of our daughters actually got married so this house means a lot to us.
Michele Lamarche purchased this house in 1999
We fell in love with Corsica in the early 90's, when we first rented a house next to Bonifacio. We came back every year ever since, renting different houses until we got the chance to buy a piece of land in 1999 and build our own house just the way we had dreamt it. The house was built in 2002 and we have been coming here as much as we can with our family ever since.
The house is very welcoming and spacious, with a great pool area and unobstructed views on the beautiful bay of San Ciprianu (Saint Cyprien). It is extremely comfortable, both indoors and outdoors, and very family-friendly.
It is located in a peaceful private domain with a private beach accessible on foot, and close to town (with everything you might need nearby).
You can lounge on the terrace or by the pool, or swim in the transparent blue sea from the private beach located 2 mns away from the house inside the domain, or go to the more animated adjacent beaches in San Ciprianu and Pinarellu, or explore the beautiful beaches of Palombaggia or Santa Giulia on the other side of Porto Vecchio.
You can enjoy home-cooked meals on the terrace, in the pool house or indoors, or go to the nearby beach restaurants in San Ciprianu (le Cabanon Bleu, le Tiki/Chez Marco), Pinarellu (le Rouf offers the best seafood in the area), Cala Rossa (le Rancho Plage, Grand Hotel de Cala Rossa), Benedettu (La Plage Casa del Mar) or try one of the numerous restaurant and bar options of Porto Vecchio. Partygoers will love the open-air club outside of Porto Vecchio, la Via Notte, which features some of the world's best DJs during the summer. Those who are looking for a more local, relaxing night can go listen to traditional Corsican songs at la Taverne de l'Alba in Porto Vecchio. Anything is possible!
Add to that numerous other options such as waterskiing in San Ciprianu, playing tennis on the courts next to Cala Rossa, horseback riding on the beach, renting a boat to hop from one beach to another and discover hidden beach coves, exploring the Alta Rocca mountains and the natural swimming pools of the Massif of Bavella, playing golf in Sperone with breathtaking views, visiting the old Porto Vecchio and its beautiful church or going shopping on the main street there, visiting the beautiful town of Bonifacio... Anything is possible!
The house is located in a private domain called Punta d'Arasu, which overlooks the San Ciprianu (Saint Cyprien) bay, less than 15 kms away from the town of Porto Vecchio. The domain has its own private beach which is accessible on foot 2 mns away from the house. The beautiful San Ciprianu beach is 10 mns away by car and is very kids-friendly. It hosts 2 great restaurants (Le Cabanon Bleu and Le Tiki/Chez Marco) and it is possible to rent beachchairs from Le Tiki/Chez Marco. Water sports (waterski, wake board, tubing) can also be done from the pontoon set on the beach during the summer season.
