The condo is located in the highly desireable Monarca development right on the ocean and is only separated by the large pool from the 2 mile sandy beach considered one of the prettiest on the Mexican Pacific Coast.

The Monarca development includes two lighted tennis courts, a full service restaurant, a large child-friendly swimming pool, lush gardens as well as conscierge service at the pool and beach. The Ixtapa biking and running trail that starts across the street provides a great opportunity to get to know the beautiful tropical surroundings while exercising body and soul.

The quaint Ixtapa Marina with its upscale restaurants is only 350 feet away. Ixtapa Village is 0.7 miles in the opposite direction.

Spacious Apartment - Great view, great stay!

My family of 5 rented this apartment during March break and had an amazing time. The apartment was very comfortable, spacious and adequately equipped. The building complex is perfectly maintained and the private restaurant (there is a restaurant by the pool that is exclusive for the two buildings of the complex) has excellent food at great prices. You can order food and drinks to the beach or pool so it’s like being in a good hotel without the stiff prices. We will definitely be staying there again!

A beachfront vacation at its best

Stunning ocean views matched by beautiful beach and pool settings. Pedro, the manager of the restaurant and beach facilities is responsive to every request.

The apartment itself was first rate containing all the amenities needed during your stay. Sophia, the owner, was available at all times and quick to correct any inconveniences that were encountered. Only drawback: of the two en suite bedrooms, one was a true master, spacious and luxurious while the other was simply adequate.

All in all, highly recommended!

13th floor with spectacular sunsets!

We were lucky to stay at both of Sofia's rentals...the first week on the south to west facing 6th floor and the second week at this west to north facing 13th floor. Both were fantastic! Each had slightly different views, and both were spectacular. They both were modern and clean, though I believe the building may be over 10 years old now. We spent most of our time on the balconies if we weren't by the pool or beach. The pool area and grounds were immaculate. When we were there, the ocean waves were perfect for playing in. The water was so warm and crystal clear past the beach surf. I know it gets rougher later in the season. We were also lucky to witness a hatching of baby turtles and make their journey to the sea....right next to Monarca! We are glad we stayed at this end of the beach as the other southern end could get quite busy, especially on weekends.

The pool bar/restaurant had good food at very reasonable prices. The staff was great too (a shout out to Pedro and Pako). Each rental had everything we needed as far as kitchen supplies and big fridges (for all the beer we drank on the balcony), but there were plenty of restaurants just down the road, less than 10 minute’s walk away. A few beach spots via the beach, but the hotels south are mostly “all inclusive” ones, so limited eateries on the beach (our place was probably the best, but it keep in mind it closes around 6:30 pm). Buses every few minutes passed by the entrance to Monarca on which could whip you to Ixtapa center in 1 minute (with dozens of restaurants) or over the hill to Zihuatanejo (unlimited choices) in just 15 minutes....all at the same price of 10 pesos each (less than a dollar each). Taxis are abound and a trip to Zihuat was well under $10 Cdn. Bike rentals in Ixtapa nearby and probably the best kept secret is that there is a fantastic 10 km bike path all the way from Ixtapa Marina all the way to Playa Linda. It goes partially along the back lagoon which is full of birds and other wildlife. The whole Ixtapa area is kept clean and up to a “T” as it is a Fonatur development. No worries of safety as there is a full time guard at the front road entry and a 24 hr concierge who can take care of any request you have.

Sofia was very accommodating and helpful with everything. We have travelled extensively throughout all of Mexico (including Zihaut), off the beaten track usually and away from tourist hot spots, but this is definitely a redo for us and we will be back.
