I have visited this cute quaint lake cottage in burnham, Maine several times now and will go back in the future for sure. This lake cottage is very well-kept and clean and exactly what we were looking for. We were blown away at how great this place is and so much to do and the beauty of it all. Bring all the food you will need because there is a full kitchen with all the supplies, four nice bedrooms two nice baths. We enjoyed the kayaking on that beautiful lake and the short drive to Parks and shopping and great lobster of course. we absolutely fell in love with this place.
The cottage is a treasure. It is well maintained, comfortable, and beautifully set on a large lake that provides a perfect view from the sitting porch and the downstairs bedroom. Though we did not have time to venture out into the lake, we thoroughly enjoyed the setting, and the ambiance created by the old paneling and hardware of the cottage. It has everything you'll need for a peaceful get-away. Just bring your food and water. My husband was on crutches at the time of our visit, and the cottage was well-suited for him, having both a downstairs bedroom and bathroom.
We arrived after a four day stay in Bar Harbor and were so happy with our next leg of the trip at Unity Pond (also called Lake Winnecook). The house had everything we needed including a great DVD section for that one rainy day! All you have to bring are groceries. Be sure to grab a steak and enjoy grilling with one of the best views of the lake! The fishing kayaks were exactly what the doctor ordered and we caught large and small mouth bass, white perch, crappie, sunfish and chub, even saw a beaver by the trestle. Within 20 minutes of a great hiking spot haystack mountain and a wonderful brewery by Lake George. Thank you Joanne for sharing your tranquil getaway!
