Maxsons Point is the most desirable vacation property on Big Bass Lake. 500ft of level lake frontage with western exposure and 5 acres of woods surround our 6 bedroom, 3 bath home. A large kitchen, 2 living rooms with fireplaces, solarium and game room are also included in this spacious home. There are lake views from every room in the house and balconies and decks surround the home.
The property and the lake shore frontage is level, making it great for kids and our guests with walkers and wheel chairs. The frontage has three separate pier areas. Swimming pier and raft with gentle sloping sand lake bottom, fishing pier with great blue gill, bass, northern and walleye fishing and boating pier with a covered shore station for our guests. We also have our own boat landing on site. There is a large camp fire area right on the lake shore and sand volley ball court out back. For water fun we provide our guests with an aluminum row boat ,kayaks, canoes, sail boats, and a paddle boat. Est in 1953 the Maxson family is happy to share our home. Enjoy what four generations have come to cherish.
4 upstairs bedrooms with balconies 2 each with a double bed and 2 twin beds. 2 with a double bed and a futon. 2 downstairs bedrooms, one a suite with own 3/4 bath, and queen bed with direct access to solarium, game room and lake side deck. Other downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and walkout.

I'm a north woods guy just retired . .Rocky (my chocolate lab) and I spend most of our time these days making the cabin fun for my family and friends and now our guests.
The Owner purchased this house in 1953
I guess I can say the cabin chose me.Purchased by my parents when I was just a toddler Its always been a part of my life.I have vacationed in many places over the years but there's no place like Eagle River and our cabin on Big Bass Lake.
The cabin has gone through many changes over the last 60 years all to benefit the four generations of our growing family but the original log homestead has always remained a constant..Its hard to find another place that the house and the lake seem like one big home. Wether you like peace and quiet and the sound of the loons, eagles soaring or swimming, fishing ,boating volleyball or just relaxing around the campfire you cant beat it.
Thank you again for another amazing trip! It was our third year at Maxson's Point for a family reunion trip. It has become a tradition we all look forward to and draws family in from the West coast. We have created many memories and the family looks forward to many more to come! The littlest one turned 4 this year and learned to swim to and jump off the raft! My nephew caught his first northern and my 73 year old dad caught the largest bass of his life! We didn't think the place could get any better but the owner added a larger fryer which made the fish fry from all of the fish we caught a breeze! Water skiing, swimming, sailing, kayaking, fishing, volleyball, sandcastles, campfires, stars, the list goes on and on! Thanks again!
THANKS FOR ANOTHER AMAZING VACATION! We recently completed our second year at Maxsons Point and cannot wait for next! Last year we held a family reunion here including two families who flew in from - West Coast! It was such an ideal location that everyone agreed to make it a yearly tradition. My 10yr old nephew even chose to write his 'favorite vacation' theme about Maxson's Point over a family trip to Hawaii that they had taken last summer as well! We have all ages from 3-75 and there is something for everyone to do and plenty of space to have time to yourself too. The set-up of the grounds and home are extremely well thought out and comfortable. The owner is so great to work with and bends over backward to accommodate the group and makes sure every detail is attended too. Thanks again!!!
this was an incredible bass lake property. The owner makes you feel like your staying at a top notch resort by including ALL the amenities. I think he is a resort genius.
Our 2nd year at Maxsons Point, and our 2 weeks with 2 families couldn't have been better!! The improvements from last year made an already-great cabin even better: a 4th full-size refrigerator (!!), great new sofas in the main living room, new futons and mattresses, and a fantastic new sitting area on the fishing pier, perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets.
But the most important things about Maxsons Point are the things that never change, captured best in this poem by our 12-year old niece, Allison Holub on our last day:
Sun's new rays
Melting dew drops
Lake, still as glass
Fog rolling in
All the perch and bass
starting their day
with ripples on the water
and here I lay
taking it all in
enjoying it all
faint sounds of a loon's call
I could sit forever
but it's too late
People are stirring
it is time to awake
We had an awesome vacation! Maxsons Point had everything we could need--inside and out--for our big family: 10 kids (3 mos. to 12 yrs.), and adults to 71 yrs. The cabin was spacious, kitchen well stocked, beds for everyone, and plenty to keep all of us busy when the weather didn't cooperate. Next year we are packing light! Outside--lots of sand toys for the the kids, water toys for all to use...all the canoes and kayaks got a workout! And Bass Lake, what a beautiful clear lake for swimming, boating and fishing. Just after we got there, our 5 yr. old caught a 16" bass after 5 minutes of fishing off the fishing dock! Lots of bass, panfish and northerns were caught by all, and we did CPR (catch-photo-release) for some great memories. The kids even enjoyed trying out the cane poles! We also saw lots of wildlife...eagles, loons, deer, a pair of gray fox, and an otter family with 4 babies! Ken was a joy to work with, attentive to all our needs, making sure we had a great time. We definitely want to come back. When you have kids that want to stay an extra week...you know it is a great place to spend your family vacation!
We stayed for our annual family weekend. We had 10 adults and 7 children in our party. The ages of the children were 5 - 15. This place was fabulous. Each family was able to have their own room, there was no fighting over bathrooms, and even with the weather not being the best we had plenty to keep us busy. We were mostly in the house and it is large enough that with 17 of us we didn't feel like we were right on top of each other. Ken was a joy to deal with, very laid back and friendly. Our family have rented different homes for our annual weekends for the past 10 years. I would have to say that this property and the owner were by far my favorite out of all the places. You will not be disappointed in this property!!!
