I just completed a 30 day stay at Terrace Park Suites while searching for my new apartment in St. Petersburg. Ane and Carlos Perez are the gracious owners of this property. They work hard to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant. I was extremely happy that my unit had a kitchen so that I could cook my own meals and stay within my budget. Having a glass of wine on the covered outside patio area before dinner with fellow guests was also a treat. I can truly say that my month at Terrace Park Suites was true Southern hospitality at its best. Thanks Ane and Carlos for your hospitality and you have certainly earned my 5 star rating for your property. Best regards, DJGerdis, West Palm Beach, Florida
A work conference brought me to Florida for a week. This was my first trip to St. Petersburg, but should I ever return, I would without question stay at Terrace Park Suites again. It is basically a small apartment complex (10 units) with at least a few units used as vacation rentals. The studio apartment had everything I needed: comfortable bed, free reliable wifi, full fridge, plates and utensils, two-burner stove, hot water in the shower, and possibly my favorite feature, a wonderfully cool air conditioner. There is plenty of storage space in the closet area. There are even some paperback books there to read if you have time.
Other amenities in the room that I didn't use were a flat screen TV, coffee maker, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board.
And CLEAN! Oh my this place was sparkling clean. I had joked before heading to Florida about the bugs the size of cars but I never saw ONE bug at all anywhere while I was down there, and certainly never in the room. I suspect it may have something to do with all the lizards running around. They all looked very well-fed.
The location is PERFECT: walking distance to the beach, restaurants, grocery store, museums, drug store, as well as the conference hotel where my meeting was held. I loved that it was set in a residential and historic neighborhood. The houses are beautiful, and I made a point of walking back a different way each time to view more of the homes. It appeared to me that St. Petersburg was quite safe; I am frequently a solo traveler and I don't put myself in "bad" situations, but I never felt concerned walking home, even later in the evenings after listening to some live music downtown.
An'e and Carlos were fantastic. Check in was a breeze, I requested an invoice for work and received that no problem, and they even allowed me to use a bicycle at no charge during my stay. That came in handy.
This place isn't for everyone. It's not fancy, but it's clean and functional. If you're looking for daily maid service and fancy hotel digs, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a place where you can enjoy all the comforts of home as well as being able to buy some groceries and save some money on dining out for each meal, you may want to check this place out.
My only concern is that this place will become so popular there will be no room for me to stay should my travels take me back to St. Petersburg.
