It is exactly as advertised. Very clean, close to a beautiful beach. I would have like to have a chair with a back and luggage racks. I would stay there again. Close to places to eat and to bus. Really close to airport, short taxi ride. Place was quiet during quiet times and you did not hear the planes. Very nice place.
Apartment common areas (living rooms and kitchen) as well as rooms are well maintained and functional. AC works very well. Space wise if you are looking for a place to sleep overnight and don't plan to spend much time in the apartment is a great fit, but if a group of 4-6 is spending much time in the apartment, would be a bit crowded for my taste. Of note we did not test this theory, but the sofa bed might not fit two of me comfortably (i'm 5'10", 190 lbs). Bathroom is dated and needs upkeep, so does the living room ceiling fan.
Location wise apt is in the "good side of isla verde" if you will. What I mean by that is that is close enough that you can walk to bars, local shops and the isla verde beach, but far away enough that you can be away from the ruckus once you are done parting / shopping / dinning, etc. There is no view of the beach from this apt if this is something that interest you, you'll only see other locals that live in similar built houses near. The whole are seemed very secure, tourist police patrolled the area frequently. My favorite local restaurant is Panaderia España (Spanish and puerto rican cuisine) close by and Mi casa (a mofongo place) in isla verde avenue.
Ruth herself is great host. She has the welcome package down to a science. Very easy to gain access to the apt and wi-fi. We encountered difficulties with the recent power outrage in the whole country (no fault of her own, of course) and she was very accommodating. Also there was a closet door that was loose and we felt was unsafe for our 1 year old who staying with us and she fixed it right away. Unfortunately, because of difficulties with main services during outrage we had to cut our time short in puerto rico, but if I was traveling for leisure and tourism would consider staying again in this unit.
We stayed at this apartment for 2 nights. The apartment was every clean, beds were comfortable with high quality linens, and towels were new and soft. We like the location, just minutes walk to the beach. We would be definitely staying there again if visiting Puerto Rico again.
When we arrived to San Juan the apartment was a 4 min drive from the airport. We had our own private parking and we walked up to our unit on the second floor. First I'll start with the negatives: the apartment is a smaller two bedroom. I thought it would be a bit bigger but it still worked. I also heard back from the owner the day before the trip with the confirmation info of the address, the code to key in and my parking space number. Once she reached out to me she gave everything I needed.
The negatives weren't really negative. Just honest points to list. The positives definitely outweigh them. It was a great location in a very safe neighborhood. I don't sleep well when away from home but the apartment made it feel like home and I was very comfortable. My fiancée and I walked around a lot. The beach is right on the other side of the expressway and there is a walkway to go over. The entrance to the beach is on the left when you pass through the walk away. You just have to walk up like two-three blocks. Being in the heart of isla verde you are close to most things on the island. We drove to both ends of the whole island and our drive was never more than an hour and 40 mins.
The owner had tanning lotion, aloe Vera, seasonings for food and multiple towels.
The apartment had a very modern feel to it. The water pressure was never an issue for us like other posts. The AC came out cold and it made the apartment feels perfect. The kitchen was our favorite part because the burner is located in the island counter. It was a great setup. Both English and Spanish channels on the tv.
We had an amazing time and it was a great vacation, we hope to be back soon.
The place was lovely. It was a short distance to the beach and eateries; and a cab ride to Old San Juan. If you plan to travel to other parts of the island you will need a car. The apartment was clean and the neighborhood safe. I would stay here again.
The neighborhood seems fine. Good things located within walking distance. Problems with the water pressure. Knob on shower broken so you can not easily change water temperature. You definitely cannot see the ocean from this place as the pictures show. Lastly BED BUGS! Not the memory I would have liked to have made in Puerto Rico. Overall it was okay I guess but definitely would not be back.
