Very Cute Lake Front Cottage with 3 Kayaks, Rowboat, Dock and STUNNING views!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,200 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Waterfront, Screened in Lakeside Porch, dock, firepit, BBQ and great hiking

Enjoy spectacular views of the lake and mountains from this sweet lakefront cottage. Perfect for a romantic getaway for two, or bring the family to join the fun.

A favorite room is the large screened porch, perfect for enjoying meals or playing cards late into the evening, The lake and mountain views from this property and this porch are unsurpassed! The sight of the fog lifting off the lake in the morning still takes our breath away.

The Cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other has a comfy double bed and custom made bunk beds the kids will love. Sleeps 6 people in a total of 4 beds.

We have wood fireplace, outside fire pit, fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, washer/dryer, dock, row boat, three 2 person kayaks, stand up paddle board, Wifi, Netflix and a 47 inch flat screen. No cable TV here though, we come here to get away from the news!

The large lawn is a great spot to hang out, has adirondack chairs, picnic table and a fire pit to roast marshmallows and watch for shooting stars at night.

There are numerous hikes for both beginners and the more athletically talented in this area, beautiful waterfalls, fishing off our dock or on nearby rivers, free tennis, basketball courts and public beach in town. We supply a complete list of Fun Things to Do.

We provide quality linens, towels and many other necessities to make your stay easy and stress free.

This has been our family home for 60 years, there are updates (like new bathroom and kitchen), but for the most part this remains a camp, albeit a very clean and well maintained one, with all the rustic charm that you might expect in an older home.

Best things about the house? The waterfront location, amazing view, easy access to swimming, kayaking, large waterfront lawn and comfy beds.

Biggest hassle here? RECYCLES! Guests must agree to take home recycles if you bring a lot in, leaving a few is OK but must agree to follow the towns strict recycle rules - they must be kept clean and separate from garbage. We then have to take them to the dump and separate them into bins by hand. We simply cannot handle this task if large amounts are left. So - our general rule here is similar to camping. If you brought it in, you must agree to take it out!

This is 4 hrs from NYC, 1.5 hrs from Albany, 1 hr from Saratoga and Lake George.

No smoking, no pets (no exceptions, sorry!), no parties or entertaining here please. Sound carries easily across lakes, so we request all guests keep noise level down on our lakefront, especially after 10PM.

Rates quoted are for two persons, $10 fee per additional person per day, this includes children. Summer housekeeping is Mon and Fri only, so we rent Fri-Mon, Mon-Fri, Mon to Mon or Fri to Fri only. Rest of year is a little more flexible.

Our family has been coming to this area our entire lives, we are happy to share all those special spots with our guests to provide the most memorable experience we can. Siblings now share this family camp, and some of us now own other homes nearby. If this does not meet your needs, or is not available at your requested dates, please inquire about the others, we will see what we can do for you. Also - we are in the heart of the Adirondacks, there are many critters sharing our slice of heaven. We do all we can to keep them out of the house, and for the most part are very successful. However, if one slips in, we need you to be able to brave the invasion and would appreciate help in capturing the intruder.

Great vacation on the lake

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the cottage worked out great for the four of us. The weather could have been better, but the house offered many relaxing features, even in the rain, like a wonderful screened in porch overlooking the lake.(our favorite spot for morning coffee, meals and late night games.) We used the kayaks and paddle board, which were great fun! We hiked for two of the days, the closer hike was in the woods with no views. Hiked along Fawn Lake up by Speculator which was pretty. 1 hour to Lake George - easy drive. Could not find aluminum foil in the house, which was the only missing necessity besides no dishwasher. Grill and fire pit were great, firewood was provided, and beds were comfy. Recycling is confusing and a hassle. I also don't understand why we need to pay an extra $10 per person over 2/ per night - first time I ever encountered this charge. Owner was very responsive. Overall, a great time, and we would come back.

Homey and Clean

  • 4 of 5

My daughter (15) and I very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. I would absolutely come back if the opportunity arises. The best part of the cottage is the screened in porch. We ate every meal out there. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

The only negatives are: The propane tanks were empty and Roku was not available. Still a double thumbs up for this property!!

Owner's Response: As a reminder to future guests, if you need assistance during your stay, please let us know -- while you are still there! Our property manager is right down the street, ready and willing to help. We have extra propane tanks (there's nothing worse than running out of flame mid-burger!), and if the internet needs to be rebooted, we can walk you through that on the phone or stop by and do it for you. Our family enjoys amazing memories from our 60 years of vacationing here, our sincere hope is that your family will as well!

Gorgeous view and peaceful lakefront property

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the cottage. The beds were comfortable, the view was perfect, the neighborhood very quiet. We loved sitting on the screened-in porch and watching the light change from day to evening.

Other renters should know to bring a lot of insect repellant and Off brand coils to keep the bugs off in warm months. There were a lot of biting black flies. The wifi bandwidth was weak and kept cutting out, so the router had to be reset multiple times. The toilet handle needs to be depressed and held a few seconds for the flush to work properly.

Those are minor nuisances. It was a lovely rental and we'd like to visit again.

Relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing time at this cottage. While the weather wasn't so great, we couldn't help but smile every time we looked outside to the beautiful lakefront. The cottage had everything we needed and we were immediately comfortable in our peaceful surroundings. I can't wait to go back. Thanks so much for a much-needed getaway before our baby arrived.
