Here’s your chance to experience the cozy comfort of an airy, cottage-like apartment, with the convenience of a downtown location.
This quiet, sunny second-floor apartment allows you the peace and quiet you deserve. Imagine the respite you’ll feel when you sink into a dreamy bed with a top-of-the-line pillow top mattress. You’ll cherish the feeling of high-thread count 100% cotton sheets on you skin. And you’ll wash away your cares in a luxurious clawfoot tub with shower.
Appointed with care by the home’s owner – a former proprietor/chef of a heralded Door County inn – this apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a washer/drier in the basement, in-unit tv and free wireless. Start the day with French press coffee on your three season porch.
Venturing out, you’ll find a host of activities within walking distance. Nearby Tenney Park offers boat launches, fishing, pontoon rides and ice skating in the winter. And you’ll find many different award-winning restaurants and coffee shops. The world-famous Barrymore Theater offers national acts and the University of Wisconsin and Madison Area Technical College campuses are each 3 miles away. The area is served by a number of bus lines and taxis are easily accessible.
Take a look at the photos and you’ll see why there’s no reason a short-term stay in Madison can’t be a memorable one.

The location has the dual advantage of being close to everything this fantastic city has to offer and yet is on a very quiet street and neighborhood.
I love that the apartment is in such an old house and neighborhood. However, there are some quirks to the building.
A few considerations :
This is a second floor walk-up apartment in a 2 flat.
The ceilings are slightly lower than average which means that the shower height could be a little cramped for very tall people as one steps up into the claw foot tub.
Otherwise you will find that the apartment is exactly as pictured (except there is a newer TV than the one in the photo).
Thanks again so much for your hospitality! I had a wonderfully relaxing stay; your place is lovely.
This apartment is great and a nice switch from hotel living! I will only warn that if you are taller than 6'0" you may not care for the low ceilings especially in the shower. I am 6'0" and when standing in the shower the ceiling was about 3/4" above my head. Otherwise this is a really neat place with a full kitchen, comfortable bed and plenty of privacy. Thanks!
The place is good to stay for 1 person. Queensize bed, a bit small for two. The place is nice and cozy. Land lost always available by phone/Email and ready to give advice.
A little drawback: The kitichen does not have a an exhaust hood making the whole appartemnt smell after cooking. TV in the bedroom only. No cable just DTV. So low (around 10) number of stations only. A bit remote from the down town. and bus frequency in the evening.
But else, I enjoyed ma stay.
We stayed here for a wedding weekend and we were so glad we did. We were able to use the kitchen and hangout when we had down time. Leah was very prompt in responding to any questions or concerns. It is a cozy and comfortable place for anyone under 6'2".... My husband couldn't stand up straight in the bedroom or bathroom. But it was still enjoyable and charming.
This rental in east Madison was all we had hoped for. It was a second floor flat with a fully equipped kitchen close to some great places like a local brewery (one barrel brewing company) and a great vegetarian restaurant with a fantastic brunch. The neighborhood was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable, as was the couch. This is a very retro apartment and like lots of attic apartments the ceiling was a little low. But we were 5'7" and 5'2" so this was no problem. There was good climate control with fans and we were very comfortable. Leah was a very helpful host who was very responsive to our request for information on local restaurants etc. We would definitely stay there again.
This quiet, charming apartment was my haven during a 16-day conference at the University. A car is needed to get around from this location to the center of Madison, but there are plenty of cool areas walking/biking distance. There are bike rentals at a station nearby. "Willy St" or Williamson Street, is full of shops, eclectic restaurants, and my favorite spot, PaintBar. Leah, the owner, was wonderful at answering my texts/emails and assisting me as needed. I loved the full kitchen, desk area, and bedroom. I also ate some meals out in the covered porch, as well as have my morning coffee and listen to the birds. This is my home away from home and I would definitely re-book if I come to Madison again next summer!
East side of Madison, lovely neighborhood, vintage, cottage feel to this one-bedroom upstairs apt. Pillow top bed, luxurious sleep, and our favorite tea in the kitchen. Nice hot bath on a rainy day. Totally clean. Loved it.
