We loved the place! Perfect for our group. It is amazingly well equipped
for a rental. Wished we had known about the new grill but next time we'll
plan on it. We tried really hard to think of how the place could be
improved/what was missing. Only came up with a couple things - Kleenex
and window washing - pretty good for 5 critics! You have done a great
job. We loved the decks and the view & spent alot of time just sitting
around chatting. Weather was iffy but OK. Parking was a bit challenging
but we survived. No other issues. We certainly would rent it again if we
were coming to the area. Thanks so much for your cooperation. It was
really pleasant to be able to check in/out early. We stayed every minute
This is a wonderful place for taking in the beauty that is West Marin. The location was perfect and the view was breathtaking. I took many photos and all three of us spent hours watching the birds and the changing tidal scenery.
The house was rustic but has all the modern conveniences you can think of. We didn't even need to bring our phone / Ipad chargers.
We were very fortunate to have sunshine for our three day weekend but had it been stormy we would have enjoyed it anyway.
Definitely want to stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our romantic getaway at this great spot. This family's vacation cabin has so many warm, beautiful hand-crafted touches which visually enriched our stay and let us feel how much this home has been loved over the years, such as the unique design of the great-room ceiling and the stained glass gable looking out on the bay, both created by family members of the owner. The stillness and peace of the neighborhood/area really fed our need to get away from the city. The home is ample, furnishings are very comfortable, and the kitchen was extensively stocked for cooking and dining in. We especially enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace and never tired of looking out at Tomales Bay through the canopy of the stunning, wrap-around live oak tree that sits just below the cabin on this hillside property. With Point Reyes National Shoreline practically at your doorstep, it's just 20-30 minutes drive to all the major trailheads (150 miles of trails on 71,000 acres!!!). It's a little cold in the winter, but the heaters work well and there are electric duvets with dual controls on each of the queen sized beds. We're thinking of bringing my in-laws for a stay in the future. Loved it!
This home was so relaxing. It had everything we needed except a hot tub. We did a lot of hiking, especially out at Point Reyes and traveled to quaint little towns all around the bay. We even got to see where "The BIrds" was filmed in Bodega Bay. The separation of the two bedrooms was great for privacy, and the view from the living room and deck was not to be missed!
The house was very cute and the views of Tomales Bay were INCREDIBLE! Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and there were even some spices in the pantry, which came in handy. There were 4 people in our group, and the space was more than adequate for all of us. We did share the beds, but they were plenty big and very comfortable. It was really nice having the 1/2 bath in the downstairs bedroom (1 bathroom for 4 girls can be quite a challenge!). The neighborhood is cute and very quiet, which is nice.
On one of the days we drove to the Tomales Point trailhead and did the hike out to the point and back (11 miles round-trip). We saw all kinds of wildlife including big groups of elk, deer, lots of different birds, and even a small garter snake. The next day we drove to the opposite end of the peninsula and visited the old lighthouse. It's not much of a hike, but be ready to do some stair climbing-----308 to be exact! Not so bad going down, but a little bit harder coming back up. If you're in shape, it's no big deal. If you're not, it's going to take a little longer to climb back up.
This house is in a great location for hiking and watersports. There isn't really much around in the way of shopping or restaurants unless you drive into Point Reyes Station (about 15 minutes up the road). However, there is a little market closer, in Inverness Park. You wouldn't want to do any big shopping there, but it's sufficient for items you might run out of like milk, beer, wine, chips, etc. They even have a great little deli where they make fresh sandwiches.
My only regret is the we couldn't stay longer. This house feels like a real home (comfy, a little quirky) and with a stunning view of the bay. Perfect for two couples - My wife and I stayed here with our daughter and her boyfriend. They took the downstairs bedroom; we took the upstairs - We used the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill to cook in every night, and at lunchtime we bought sandwiches down the road. We could only stay three days but it was one of the best vacations I've had in a long time.
A light filled gathering place for visiting with family, reading, or watching the Giants on TV. This home was outstanding (and we've rented many in Inverness). Great privacy for two couples or other small family group combinations, with separate floor accommodations. The home is immaculate, and charming with plenty of comfortable seating. We will be back!
