Perfect Winter Break

  • 5 of 5

We chose this apartment for a Winter 2017 break based on being able to look out over wonderful views of the Port during the dark evenings. We were not disappointed. Renaud greeted us and gave us plenty of local knowledge and ideas ensuring we had all we needed for our one week stay. A beautiful apartment in an excellent location.

Small in size but BIG in what it offers

  • 5 of 5

Renaud was the perfect host for his apartment located in Nice by the port. It was in good proximity to some great eating places like the Wok, Burgers and Burritos and a new Chicken Rotisserie spot. While not ideal for families or long stays, I do think it provided a comfortable, well situated living space and would be great for small parties looking for a short stay in a great location. It was a short walk to shopping, museums and parks and while I did not take full advantage, there were trams, rental bikes and buses near by, as well Renaud responded to all inquires and concerns in less than 24 hours and provided excellent customer support and attention throughout my entire stay.

Nice little studio near the old town but nights can be noisy.

  • 3 of 5

The studio is very sweet for 2 people and loved the view and the area.

Nice reception as well. The fare from the airport is about 40 euros.

The down side is the incredible noise from the ferry. So the first night, when the ferry from Corsica was in port, It was hard to sleep even with all windows closed. Second night the ferry was gone and it was great!

Fabulous location.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this apartment for five nights in August and found it to be bright and airy and spotlessly clean. We loved the location right by the pier. There were several great restaurants within a few steps of the complex and access to the old town within a reasonable walking distance. Renaud kindly waited a couple of hours for us as our train was delayed. He had prepared an extensive guide to enhance our stay and gave us lots of tips about local sites and eateries. We would highly recommend this apartment in Nice.

Everything you need for a GREAT Week in Nice Port!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Centrally located in Nice Port with great views all day. Photos accurately show views and condition of the apartment. Kitchen well stocked. Bathroom is excellent (full size shower).

Bed is clean with nice linens. Elevator to 3rd floor and secured entry doors to property. Lovely courtyard.

Renaud and his mother Michelle both gave us excellent orientation to the apartment and the city. This included sites to see, transportation options (buses to Monaco, Eze, Ville Franche de Mer, and St Jean are the end of the block), took an Uber to bus for Cannes and Grasse.

In addition to all the wonderful sites, the people of Nice and the Cote d'Azur were all welcoming and gracious. Don't miss this part of France and Monaco.

Out the back exit from the apartment are the Utile Supermarche (wines, bread, cheeses, etc.) and across the street from there is the Boulangerie Patisserie (best pastries- Quiche, breads, desserts).

Out the front door and to the right are a number of local restaurants. Our favorite was "la Bargue Bleue" at 7 quai des deux Emmanuel (excellent Italian and local cuisine at reasonable prices).

When we return to Nice, this will definitely be our choice for accomodations!!!!

Wonderful stay. Perfect Hosts!

  • 4 of 5

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay in Nice at the home of Renaud & Sauskia. Renaud was very responsive from the beginning and provided good guidance and tips to help us manage our trip in Nice better. We were greeted by friendly Renaud at the apartment with a big smile, lots of information and a bottle of Rose in the frig!

The apartment was perfect for our family. It was clean, tastefully decorated and recently remodeled so it had very modern amenities, but still had old world French charm with the windows and balconies. The space was a little smaller than the pictures could depict but adequate for our needs. There is a sliding door to divide the bedroom from living area which is best left open to get air conditioning to the remaining space where our children slept. Probably could use a couple extra chairs for added sitting comfort after a long day of adventures in Nice and surrounding areas but we made do.

As for location, it could not get much better! Sitting right along the port, we had view of the Port and Sea and the famous Castle Hill across the way. Little supermarket below the building was an added benefit, but we found there was a Monop' (little grocery store of the big Monoprix) and great boulangeries (Trip Advisor pointed us in this direction) about 10 minutes walking just above the port. Renaud suggested we take a little FREE boat to cross the port to reduce our walk time around to the other side. This was very helpful, but when there is a long wait (the mate only takes up to 5-6 people on the boat at a time) it is probably best to just walk on the inner port and view all the beautiful yachts which is only about 7 minutes to walk. The rental apartment was in the perfect location so we could walk along the seafront, in through the tiny bustling streets of Vieux Nice, hit one of many beaches or get train or bus #100 (5 minutes away at the end of the port) to visit neighboring towns like Antibes, Villefranche-sur-mer, Menton and Monaco (which I highly recommend if you have time). The location was also nice as it was generally quiet - although you might hear an announcement each morning from the big boat boarding passengers in the port but that was a good wake up call for us anyway so we could start our adventures.

All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would be happy to stay again should we return! Thank you Renaud & Sauskia!

About Renaud and Saskia

Renaud is a born and bred Niçois, Saskia a Brit-German. We live in London right now, but Renaud's mum will meet and greet you. We'll give you all the insider tips you need in order to make the most of your time in Nice. We speak English, French, German, Spanish, and a little bit of Arabic.

Renaud and Saskia purchased this apartment in 2015

Why Renaud and Saskia chose Le Port

Renaud was tipped off about this apartment and literally bought it a day later. The location is simply amazing - all the best parts of Nice are close by or within walking distance (including the Old Town, the beach, great bars and restaurants), but the apartment itself and the area around it is quiet and convenient to get to.

What makes this apartment unique

The view! And those lovely wooden shutters. We gutted and completely redid the apartment, so everything inside is new and done according to our specifications.
