As you enter the apartment through the stairs and then the living room you will find the perfect combination between modern and rustic Old San Juan style. Huge one bedroom apartment. Property was in a prime location.
Terrace was an amazing space and Otto (main contact) was very attentive when needed.
This place was perfect. 2 of us stayed here and it was a perfect size (could probably fit a couple more comfortably in the living room). The apartment was clean and well-maintained. There were plenty of linens and bath towels, kitchen supplies, etc. There is an AC unit in both the bedroom and the living room so the whole place cools off pretty quickly. The patio is AMAZING if you like sitting out in the heat and unwinding after your day with some cool drinks or waking up with coffee out there in the mornings.
The location is perfect. It is just far enough removed from the main tourist areas so as not to be loud and overwhelming, but also close enough to walk to anything you want/need (bars, restaurants, nightlife, grocery store, pharmacy all within a couple blocks). However, if you want to spend your whole trip at a beach then Old San Juan is probably not the location for you. There is a very small public beach just across the street from the Capitol building (less than a mile walk from the apartment), but other than that you will need to drive to a larger beach. This wasn't a problem for us as we only had one day where we wanted to lay out on the beach for a few hours so the small one by the Capitol building was sufficient.
The owner, Otto, was extremely helpful. He provides a sheet with many recommendations for restaurants, bars, sightseeing, and anything else you could possibly want to do in the area. He is also extremely responsive and helped us on more than one occasion during our stay with providing information (via texting) on things like where the closest beach is, providing the number for a cab company, etc.
I would definitely stay at this place again and would highly recommend it to anybody visiting San Juan.
If you're looking for a great submersion into the history and the culture of Puerto Rico old San Juan is the place to be, great shopping, dining, nightlife, even a beautiful catholic service at the local cathedral. The apartment is in the heart of it all and yet very quiet. It's only 1-4 blocks away from all of the nightlife(depending on what you're looking for) and groceries and pharmacies only 2 blocks away. The pictures don't do this wonderful place justice, the kitchen was really nicely appointed as was the rest of the apartment and it was in one of the historic buildings with the amazing doors that photographers love to capture. Otto was great, the humidity was unusually high so Otto swung by and brought us an extra air conditioner and I think he had something to do with bringing in cooler weather.
Thank you Otto.
This place is absolutely gorgeous. The location was perfect! Walking distance to everywhere! Many restaurants, coffee houses, dessert shops, castles, grocery store, shopping. We were able to just walk down the street and catch the taxi to and from the airport. We were picked up a few blocks away for the biobay and rainforest tour. Short walk to the beach. The view was stunning as it had its own huge patio. Otto was a great host as he made sure the apartment was nice and clean upon arrival, very easy to get ahold of - always giving great recommendations and making sure we arrived safely. AC was great Great value. We felt very welcomed by the community and restaurants around. Highly recommend it. We look forward to returning
This is a nice little apartment for a couple or very small family. The linens are nice and the furniture is comfortable. It's biggest asset is the patio area it really increases the comfortable living space. It is centrally located in the old city. The kitchen has just the very bare minimum of items needed to cook very simple meals and there is no grill. The owner Otto was helpful when we had an issue with one of the AC units. It took a bit longer than expected to fix but after we ask for a slight refund he accommodated our request and provided a small refund for each night without AC in the living room. This is a nice little place if you enjoy the old city of San Juan. If you rent a car, parking is hard to find but doable. But get the smallest car you can the parallel spaces are very tight.
My daughter and I decided to stay in OSJ for Spring Beak week. Staying in this apartment made us feel like locals! We visited local restaurants, got fresh tropical fruit from markets, and walked everywhere in OSJ... The owner went above and beyond the call of duty- giving us tips on beaches, places to eat, and even walking tour ideas! Otto even left us beach chairs and a cooler for those drives to the beach! Absolutely great! The apartment was as pictured and very chic. It was lovely having a patio to relax on when we came home from our wanderings. With shutters instead of windows, we knew we were in OSJ! What a treat! We opened the shutters in the mornings and listened to the sounds of OSJ and felt the breezes. The AC worked great when we wanted it also- no complaints there. I felt blessed to stay here and would be happy to recommend to others.
