The Perfect Home
Richard's home was absolutely gorgeous, comfortable and had everything we needed. The outdoor areas were lush, beautiful and well maintained, although the pool was a bit too chilly to spend much time in during our stay (it was still lovely to look at). Maria and Beto were sweet and very helpful. And of course San Miguel is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. The alley/street that the house is on may be a bit too steep for some, but we just saw it as a strength training exercise:) Overall a great experience. Thank you so much, Richard!
Samirah, you are so welcome. We love being able to share our home. Yes, our home is on a steep and narrow street but we have very little traffic, especially being in the Centro Historico and it is great exercise. I’m 72 and walk up and down to “Centro” all the time!
Full of Charm
The house was full of old world charm with all the modern amenities. The house meandered with wonderful comfortable rooms & several outdoor sanctuaries. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces with wine, local cheeses & great weather.
Maria & Beto, the household help, were friendly, thoughtful & accommodating.
Thorough information was left for us & it was extremely helpful particularly since our son became ill with flu like symptoms. Dr Martinez made a house call on Christmas Day. Amazing!!
I would highly recommend with the caveat that you will be getting plenty of exercise walking to & from the house. Considering the inexpensive cuisine available in Allende, exercise was not only inescapable but welcomed.
Lovely property; excellent stay.
This is an incredibly beautiful property. Oozes charm everywhere yet had everything modern we would want. We were well taken care of by Maria and Beto. Do note that the property is situated on a very steep slope on a cobblestone street that we nicknamed Heart Attack Hill.
Lovely, well-maintained & enchanting
This restored colonial house (originally an oratorio) is both true to its original setting and comfortable. It is beautiful. The staff - Maria & Beto - are lovely. The owner has thoughtfully & generously provisioned the house, and has left very helpful information about the house and about San Miguel. The house is in the historical center of this World Heritage town, but it is located on a steep cobblestone street, far enough from the zócalo to provide good exercise for an otherwise indolent holiday. Restaurants within walking distance range from casual bars/cafes to ultra up-scale; just wandering the streets, house, churches, parks & shops can fill a holiday. Within San Miguel, you can go local or tourist. All-in-all, only the highest recommendation.
We love sharing our hidden treasure especially when visitors appreciate our unique and magical home. Thank you for your review and making the very most of your time in San Miguel. R
Magical San Miguel
Richard's house in San Miguel de Allende is everything we hoped for and more. It was a beautiful and lovely space within walking district to everything in San Miguel. Everything was clean and Maria kept it that way everyday. Richard was very responsive and provided great tips. We miss it already.
San Miguel is a World Heritage site. We have beautiful weather, friendly people and an easily walkable city. There is plenty to do, see and enjoy...shopping is exceptional.
