There's a little demon sitting on my shoulder, telling me not to write this - keep this place a secret, so my family and I can rent it whenever we want! But that would not be fair to the owner, Debbie, who is a sweetheart.
We arrived tired from travel, and were greeted by a gift basket full of munchies and a bottle of wine, which was so appreciated! The photos on HomeAway do not do the place justice. Many colorful additions have been made, and the entire home is a visual delight! The open floor plan of the kitchen/dining room and living room make the home feel extra spacious.
Ladies, you will not have to bother your husband with the question: "Does this outfit make my butt look big?" The master bath has a skylight and wrap around mirrors, so you can see for yourself! (OMG, it's time for another round of Weight Watchers for me...)
The location was nice - very close to a grocery store and gas. It felt like a very safe and secure neighborhood, and in addition, the garage gave us peace of mind - we didn't have to unpack the rental car after each day trip.
The beds were comfy, the towels abundant and fluffy. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The patio (and grill) were much appreciated - a peaceful spot to enjoy in the early mornings. Just beyond the backyard fence is a lovely patch of desert, complete with cacti and wildlife. We enjoyed watching the quail, lizards, and rabbits.
For hikers, aside from the obvious Saguaro East and West, don't miss the Chiricahua National Monument - WOW!
Our stay was way too short. Would rent this place again in a heartbeat! Will definitely recommend Debbie and her lovely home to anyone we know who is travelling to Tucson.
Thank you, thank you Debbie, for sharing your Sonoran Oasis!
This is our second stay in this lovely well maintained home! For both stays the owner was extremely thoughtful in her preparation of the home! For those not familiar with the area, she has a wonderful book with fun things to do and great places to eat! The open concept floor plan really lends itself to enjoying time with family! She generously allows well behaved pets, but you would NEVER know other pets have been in the home! So future guests with pets, please be respectful of this lovely home. It's getting harder and harder to travel with our beloved dog due to irresponsible dog owners! So many thanks Debbie!! I'm from the Tucson area and this is our favorite place to stay!!
This place has exceeded our expectations! We felt right at home. It's open and spacious, perfect for our needs such as hanging out in the back yard watching the wild animals roam in the desert in the mornings! The bed was so comfortable. Debbie was so easy to communicate with us. She left us a basket full of goodies when we arrived! Thank you! We'll be back!
This place was perfect. We decided to come to Tucson at the last minute to do Thanksgiving with family who live in the area. Booking things with Chrissy (the owner) was easy and friendly...
The house exactly fit our needs. It was absolutely clean, the decor was extremely nice, and the house was stocked with all of those nice personal items that you would never get in a hotel. It was clear immediately that this place was run by someone who cares. There was extra towels and sheets/blankets, paper goods and condiments in the kitchen, ... and she even left us a nice bottle of wine and chocolates on the counter. The little extra touches that make a place feel homey.
It was so nice, that we decided to do our Thanksgiving meal over "at our place" instead of making family prepare their house for it. We had everyone over for a really enjoyable and comfortable meal. It made for the perfect setting!
I'd like to thank Chrissy for making it possible for us to have such a nice long Holiday weekend with family. We come to Tucson periodically, and we will try to stay in this place again.
If you are going to need a place in east Tucson, then I recommend this rental. It was easy to arrange, the location is close to restaurants and supermarkets (literally in walking distance), and it is very comfortable!
Arriving at the Tucson house with our two small children was one of the greatest parts of our trip! The house had everything we needed with plenty of space for all. We cooked, did laundry and relaxed over the Christmas holiday while visiting family and friends. The views are wonderful and the location is near many amenities, the spa was a wonderful treat. I cant say enough about the easy transaction and accommodating house. Enjoy your vacation in this great house-
