Brockington Hall Inn Suite is a cozy little suite (459 sq. ft.) in Savannah’s Historic District. Situated on a quiet tree-lined, brick-paved street of beautiful residences, we are within a block and a half from Forsyth Park and of the Mansion on Forsyth Park. We are also within walking distance (for spry people!) of most of Savannah’s famous sites. We provide one off-street parking space and parking is not metered in our area.

Cancellation policy is that upon notice of cancellation THROUGH VRBO (and therefore in writing), owners will immediately seek to re-rent the property. If property is re-rented, any loss to owner will be offset against deposit along with $50.00 fee. Transfer of deposit to other available dates may be allowed.

Please note: We operate a wedding venue on the floor above this suite so there is a possibility that there will be noise in this suite until 10:00 pm or so, especially on weekends. If that would be a problem for you, you may wish to consider our other property at the same address, the Cottage, VRBO # 403378.

Located about 25 blocks from the center of the City, and redone in 2011, the Inn offers a living room, bedroom, and eat-in kitchen for small meals, with a private entrance.

The Inn Suite is located in a tastefully-renovated 16th Century Classic Italianate villa-style mansion built in 1882 which houses an event venue and private apartments as well. The informality of the Inn Suite’s design and furnishings and its modest rental rate make it especially suited to the young at heart who wish to enjoy the grandeur of Savannah itself without staying in a formal space. A full kitchen with facilities for light cooking is provided, and you can bring home your treats from Savannah’s many fine restaurants for later snacks. You can cook your own breakfast or have breakfast nearby in the Cafe at Forsyth Park, which has Starbucks coffee. A Kroger grocery store is a block away down the lane, and Johnny Ganem's wine and liquor store is three blocks away. The Inn suite is approximately 459 square feet.

A Tassimo coffee-maker is provided, with coffee, tea, sugars, Splenda, and creamer.

In addition to the private entrance, the Inn Suite has wireless Internet access, cable TV service via two flat-screen TVs, and its own security system. You will have free use of Brockington Hall’s shared laundry facility, off-street parking for one vehicle, and maid service at a reasonable frequency after a two-night’s stay, if requested.

The Inn Suite is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is allowed outside the building. There is a small courtyard with a concrete pad and seating where you can smoke.

One off-street parking space is provided. Parking spaces are small. If you have a large vehicle, you may need to park in unmetered, on-street parking, and to be mindful of street sweeping signs.

A two night minimum stay is required, but we'd love for you to be our guests for an extended stay as well.

We do ask that you let us know your anticipated time of arrival so that we can plan our days (and nights).

About Lee Mundell

The Inn was opened in 2011 by Lee and Melissa Mundells -- lawyers by occupation -- in a building inherited from Lee's parents. United States Air Force Retired Lieutenant General Lewis Mundell and his wife Elsie lived in the house for 20+ years. The house has been featured in tours hosted by Historic Savannah Foundation and by the city's Downtown Neighborhood Association. Lee has served as President of both of these organizations, and we are committed to preservation of Savannah's unique characteristics.

Why Lee Mundell chose Savannah

Lee and Melissa have lived in Savannah since 1977, when Brockington Hall was operated as an event venue. The senior Mundells purchased the building as their private residence in 1981, with some rental apartments on floors other than their residence on the parlor floor.

The suite was a modest apartment built in the 1960's in an addition to the main building.

What makes this apartment unique

When you stay in the Inn you will be staying in the country's largest historic district, on one of Savannah's loveliest streets with easy access to the City's wealth of architecture, museums, shopping, and history. Situated at the south end of the Historic District, we are approximately a mile from River Street, the north border of the roughly one square mile district. We are a block from a bus tour stop at Forsyth Park where you can board a free shuttle or paid tour, a block from a grocery store, and four blocks from a liquor store (if that matters).

Perfectly Located in Historic District for easy walking

This apartment was perfectly located off a major street. We were very happy to find it came with a parking spot and was so close to a Krogers and Starbucks!

The owner is fantastic and very helpful. The unit is well-kept and had everything we could have needed during our stay. I would not hesitate to stay there again or suggest it to a friend.

If you are only in town for three nights as we were, I would suggest eating at "The Pirate's house'" one night and picking a restaurant on the river street for another meal or two. The Ghosts and gravestones tour at night is also fantastic!

I cannot wait to visit Savannah again!

Wonderful

The unit is lovely. Location is excellent. The real difference here are the little extra touches. There is coffee and tea with the brewer as well as a few snacks. You can't ask for more.

Loved it!

The Brockington Inn is beautiful and in a great location near Forsyth Park. The suite we stayed in was lovely and cozy and very spacious. The suite consists of four good size rooms that are furnished nicely. There is a market within a block of the Inn. Suite is on the ground floor. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is that we had booked 3 nights and they mistakenly put us in the wrong suite for the first night, which wasn't as nice. The coffee and creamers in the room were great but many were curdled. Also, for such a nice size room, they have a full size bed. Why not queen? Anyway, the suite was very cozy and would definitely stay again when we return to Savannah. Approx. 1 mile from river front and it's a great walk through the town and all the squares.

Cozy Place, Good Location

This unit worked very well for our first trip to Savannah. The kitchen is a great convenience if you want to do breakfast or lunch in the room or have an afternoon snack and cocktail. Kroger grocery store is very close by to get all your provisions quickly. Clary's is a great breakfast spot just a short walk away as well. There's also a health food store at the end of Forsyth Park (south side). The park was lively on Saturday with ultimate frisbee games and a farmer's market. Only 1 block from the free shuttle stop and trolley stop. Our only critique is that the unit could have been a little cleaner. Furniture was dusty, some hair on the bed spread and the shower liner needs to be replaced. Other than those minor things, we were very happy with our stay. This location is a little ways away from all the activity on River Street, but it is easy to get there and doesn't take more than 10 minutes. Overall, we were very happy with the unit and enjoyed our first trip to Savannah!

Great Choice For a Savannah Stay

Lee provided everything we reasonably might need- shampoo, coffee, tea and help to find our way around Savannah. Lee was very helpful getting us oriented to Savannah. The location of the apartment couldn't be better.

Sightseeing and shopping in Savannah's Historic and Victorian Districts,with its many museums and landmarks, available by moderate walks or short walk to shuttle. We are one block from Forsyth Park, and your ground-floor suite has a private entrance. Your kitchen lets you bring home treats from Savannah's fine restaurants, and there is a grocery store a block away and a wine and liquor store three blocks away. Your suite is one block from Savannah's famous Forsyth Park, where concerts, festivals, and sporting events are frequently held. There you can catch our City's Shuttle, and a moderate walk (with or without shuttle) will take you to the bulk of Savannah's sightseeing spots and shopping in the Historic District. Also we are on the edge of Savannah's Victorian District, the first 'suburb' of the City, originally served by trolley, where you'll find our 'painted lady' houses, antiques stores, and other small businesses. A grocery store is one block away, with a wine and liquor store only three blocks away.
