As you wind down a country lane to our 2 ½ acre Chewuch Riverfront Retreat, you will discover serenity nestled in the pines alongside the beautiful Chewuch River. Yet, the Chewuch Riverfront Retreat is only 1 mile from the charming “western” town of Winthrop with unique shops, fun bistros, bakeries, and book stores to browse. In winter you are near some of the best cross-country skiing in North America; in summer, spend the late afternoon relaxing in a hammock with a glass of wine and a book next to the river.
The knotty-pine Cottage is a newer addition to the property and sleeps 2-3 (w/ new, pillow top queen bed) with a large sectional down filled couch, pine dining table, simple cooking kitchen including a cooktop and large convection/microwave and small refrigerator, and 3/4 bath with separate toilet and shower areas. The wood burning stove adds ambience to the radiant heated cottage.
You can also rent the House (sleeps up to 9 with two queen bed rooms, a twin in the loft, and a double bunk room). A “sleeping-room only” bunkhouse accommodates another 2 -3 people. The property is connected via a covered breezeway. Inside the property, you are cozily ensconced in a warm, inviting home with the flexibility of renting any combination on the property which accommodates from 2 – 15 people.
All the amenities of the Methow Valley are nearby – hiking, mountain biking or tubing down the river out the door of our house! In winter, explore some of the best cross-country skiing in North America, downhill skiing at LoupLoup, ice skating at the new community ice rink in Winthrop, or sledding and snow shoeing on our property!

We are two families with children that enjoy all the outdoor activities of the Methow Valley year round and like to come visit frequently.
Andrea Adams purchased this cottage in 2005
We wanted a property where we could gather with friends and family comfortably, close to town and near the river. This place is great for a couple on their own or up to 14 people.
Whenever we arrive we wish we could stay just one more day. Having rented for years and knowing that it is hard to find a good place to stay at times, we decided to share our special vacation place with others.
Lovely cabin by a river, quiet area near everything you need and all possible outdoor activities. Nearby Winthrop, Twisp and Mazama are small communities with good food, beer, coffee, etc. Lakes and Rivers abound! Hiking, kayaking, biking nearby. Very nice visit to the Methow Valley.
Beautiful location right on the river...so peaceful. We enjoyed watching the deer roaming about the property. The cottage itself was clean, very comfortable, well-stocked with the basics, and much larger than we anticipated. We highly recommend this property.
This cabin was everything we expected and more. It was so comfortable, cozy, peaceful, met all of our needs. The deer we outside our door every morning. We laid by the river in the afternoon. There was not a sound around. The bed had a wonderful down comforter, extremely comfortable. We were 5 minutes from town. I felt so at home in this lovely, roomy cabin. Thank you so much!
Place was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Great Verizon reception. Can't wait to try this cozy cabin in the winter.
We had a wonderful stay in your river cottage. Everything we needed was right there. The cottage is spotless, and kitchen will appointed. But the real magic is the setting - sitting by the river watching the wildlife is pure bliss!
This is the second time we were able to enjoy the tranquil setting at the Pine Hideaway. The cabin is even more delightful than the description. It is about a mile out of town but down a long private road that dead ends at the cabin. The only sounds are the river and the chipmunks babbling. It was nice to leave the door open at night to hear the sounds of the river and then birds in the morning. The bed is very comfortable and there are nice touches such as robes and slippers. The towels and linens were of good quality. The kitchen is equipped for cooking and also has a nice gas barbecue. The weather was warm both times we went-almost 100 degrees one day-and the cabin stayed cool and comfortable. It is an easy walk, bike or car ride into town or to Lake Pearrygin. Winthrop is filled with nice restaurants and shops. The State Park at Lake Pearrygin allows jet skis and boats for water skiing or fishing. We took paddleboards and blow up floats and had a great time cooling off in the middle of the day.
Andrea is easy to work with and we had no problems with communication or staying at her lovely retreat.
White soft sand on riverfront beach, intertubing on river, sledding and snowshoeing on property, walk to town (1 mile), 5 minutes to Pearrygin Lake for sheltered swim area and large beach/waterskiing. Fabulous hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and farmers markets,
