The scenery in the Russian River Valley is unsurpassed. With hot air balloons floating over the vineyards to the majestic Redwoods, it is unique onto itself.
Within minutes you can be at a famous winery, or sitting in a restaurant overlooking the ocean. Want to do some shopping, there are unique shops and antique stores in close proximity.
My husband, college age son and myself spent Thanksgiving week @ Side-by-Side and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to relax, unwind, unplug and enjoy! Bryan & Richard are wonderful hosts! We were greeted by them as we drove through the gate- then given a tour of our 'home away from home' and presented with Richard's renowned Banana Bread....not 'just' banana...but Banana -Black walnut-Chocolate Chip bread! Along with a beautiful Chardonnay and a few other treats!
Their home is beautifully decorated, SO CLEAN, very comfortable and in a beautiful location amongst the Redwoods. It was a great home-base for touring the Sonoma County- fabulous wineries, breweries, incredible restaurants, Bodega Bay for fresh crab & hiking, Armstrong Redwood Forest ...and more!
Thank You Bryan & Richard for your kindness and gracious hospitality-- we WILL return! AND- thanks for the Christmas Lights preview!'
A home and garden out of Sunset Magazine...Richard and Bryan provided us with an opportunity to share their beautiful home in Guerneville. From the striking landscape to the quaint entry that leads to a home boasting gorgeous hickory wood floors and beautiful design, our perfectly quiet weekend was wonderful. There are not enough stars for this peaceful getaway and the graciousness of our hosts. Thank you again, gentlemen, for an amazing weekend. Looking forward to many more!
Clearly, Bryan and Richard love their life and their homes, I'm so glad they share Side-by-Side. You'll sleep well on the wonderful beds, get prepared well in the well appointed bathrooms and if so inclined cook to you hearts content in the beautiful kitchen. We couldn't have asked for a better base for our week-long trip to the Sonoma Valley. We were an hour from Napa, 25 minutes from the ocean , 5 minutes from Armstrong woods, and literally on the edge of the Sonoma wine country. I could reiterate the kudos others have given Bryan and Richard and their property, but I won't bore you. Just read a couple and know that I say ditto to all the rave reviews!
Side-by-Side is an amazing rental property. The owners Richard and Bryan are amazing to work with. From the moment we arrived until we left, we truly felt like were in a home away from home. We were greeted by Richard and provided a tour of the home and were surprised by the fresh orange juice and english muffins to start our stay. The rental is surrounded by a charming english garden and stunning landscapes. The home is cozy and decorated to make you like sinking in immediately. Definitely a 5 star property for any traveler that is looking for a classy property to relax and enjoy their trip.
My partner, friends, and I stayed for the weekend at Bryan and Richard's beautiful Side by Side rental home. It was the perfect setting for our relaxing weekend away from the city. The hosts were super hospitable and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The home suits perfectly for four people and the greatest feature of all is the beautiful backyard with a hot tub facing the majestic redwood trees. We will DEFINITELY be booking with them again in the future =)
We actually stayed in this charming house in for 3 nights in June of 2015, but the review site would not back-date our arrival. (Just a tad late getting this review together...)
We were greeted by Richard and Bryan who gave us the house tour along with champagne & banana bread. They are wonderful and attentive hosts!
We would not hesitate to recommend this house or it's location. The house is clean, well-stocked and very comfortable. The neighborhood is "quirky" in the most positive California way, and the trees are amazing. Very quiet. We would definitely stay here again
Main Street is a quick drive away. We highly recommend trying boon eat+drink (eatatboon.com) for dinner and the Coffee Bazaar (off the end of Main St) for coffee/tea + breakfast goodies in the morning (coffeebazaar.com). They also serve light lunch.
We had a glass of wine at Chef Patrick's (chefpatricks.com) and the menu looked tasty.
Check out Nimble & Finn's for ice cream and pie (nimbleandfinns.com).
There's a redwood forest about 10 minutes from the house that we were told is pretty amazing but we didn't have time to check it out.
Healdsburg is only 30-35 away, a great town with lots to look at, great restaurants and MANY tasting rooms! Make sure to stop in @ Roadhouse, Portalupi, Banshee & Topel.
