After the family recently discovered the history of the residence, we made a trip to the California Museum of History in San Francisco where the archives of Laura Bride Powers books and articles she wrote for the San Francisco Examiner are kept. MS Powers wrote four books on the Mission's of California to highlight their value to California's early history and to encourage the restoration and maintenance of the Missions for all time.

The lower unit is a full-time rental leaving the upper unit for owner's use. Love being upstairs looking out at the Cypress trees. It is like living in a tree house. One can hear the ocean waves in the bedroom at night. The large living room, with its french doors, brings in lots of light. The rear porch is covered and a nice place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or the cool air on a sunny afternoon. Carmel-by-the-Sea is the heart of Carmel, the absolute best location we think.

What makes this townhome unique

If you want to enjoy a slower pace of life and want to relax, come to Carmel. The beauty of the neighborhoods, the walk along the ocean in the early morning air or evening sunsets, the site and aroma of bonfires on the beach, the fresh sea air, are its best features. Carmelites love their dogs, and you will see every size and breed. Many restaurants will accommodate your pet under an outside table, Doris Day's Cypress Inn, for instance. Being animal lovers ourselves, pets may be permitted by our property manager at her discretion.
