Come spend your vacation in a newly remodeled condo in the heart of Nags Head. Our tastefully decorated ground floor (no steps) living space offers plenty of room for families or couples. With an easy 2 minute walk to the beach, you will enjoy an early morning sunrise, a fun day on the beach, and a show stopping moon rise in the evening. We are nestled in a quiet neighborhood between the highways-the perfect setting for walking/riding bikes to local coffee shops, restaurants, grocery store. Linens provided. Fully equipped, eat in kitchen, 1.5 baths with stall shower, outdoor shower, washer/dryer. Two bedrooms-a queen, twins that convert into a king, and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. Relax and enjoy some quiet time or a family meal on the fenced in patio areas. The kids can shoot baskets, or you can use our guest passes to the local YMCA. Located within a half-mile of our property, the YMCA offers outdoor and indoor pools, water spray park, skate park, suana, hot tub, fitness center, group exercise, racquetball and basketball courts. Check the bookshelves for a good beach read and the supply of games and puzzles for some family fun. We will consider taking dogs under 20 pounds with a non-refundable deposit. No cats. Smoking permitted outside only.

About Christine and Mitchell Lively

We moved to the Outer Banks in 1985. Our rental is on the ground floor; we live upstairs. Mitch runs the art gallery and frame shop, and during the winter I teach second grade. We have two children who enjoyed growing up in Nags Head. Their summers were filled with daily time at the beach. We have fond memories of Sunday afternoons on the beach with neighbors and friends. Both children grew to love the water, with our son becoming an avid surfer. We enjoy walks on the beach with our dogs as we hunt for sea glass. As a family who likes to read, Mitch and I are spend time on the deck with a good book, an early morning cup of coffe, or an evening glass of wine. After a year of teaching, I am always ready to spend time at the beach with a good read! We also enjoy riding our bikes or walking in the neighborhood.

We chose to offer a rental in our neighborhood because it is a quiet, family-friendly area. Families and couples can come here and be as busy or as laid back as fits their preferences. We especially like being centrally located on the Outer Banks.

What makes this apartment unique

When on vacation, we prefer time to relax and enjoy family and friends away from the hectic every day pace. For us this includes clean, comfortable accommodations at an affordable price. That is what you will find in our rental. The 2-minute walk to the beach makes it easy to be on the beach at any time of the day with no parking hassles. We are within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, a bait shop and grocery store. Being centrally located makes it an easy drive to many wonderful attractions such as the Wright Brothers Memorial, the new historical landmark Jennette's Pier, Jockey's Ridge State Park, a soundside beach, Nags Head Woods, and to Manteo to visit the historic waterfront or attend the outdoor drama 'The Lost Colony' as well as shopping areas. Being between the highways offers a safe place for walking, bike riding, or running. We have two fenced patio areas offering a quiet, private place for relaxing. The YMCA is only half a mile from our home. With our guest passes, you and your family will have full access to all the amenities offered there. Since we live here, we can answer questions about a local services you may need or desire including where to find local produce as great prices and directions to the freshest seafood!

A very nice place!

We were looking for something affordable, close to the beach on the Outer Banks - not so easy to find! We loved what previous people had to say about this rental - so we went. Christine and Mitch were wonderful hosts - even though the apartment was under them, they were not intrusive during our stay - very helpful when we arrived and told us about local places that were good.

The apartment itself was beautifully decorated - loved the antiques and the beach touches! It was very clean and had beach supplies, fully stocked kitchen - even a little cooler to use for the beach! It was a lot larger than it looked in the pictures. The location was literally 1. 5 blocks from the beach - and the beach was fabulous! I was able to take some great sunrise pictures for my daughter's senior year photos. The beach was NOT overcrowded at all.

There is, of course, some noise as you are below a residence - but it wasn't bad, as we kind of expected that. My only suggestion would be to replace the current deadbolt and door knob for the main entrance. It was tricky to get it to lock from the outside, and at night - I could only use the door knob lock, the deadbolt didn't work from the inside. As a single Mom traveling- that made me a little uncomfortable.

Thanks so much for a fabulous trip! We loved the Outer Banks! We will be back! :)

Wonderful Stay

This cozy apartment was the perfect place for our stay......myself and my daughter were looking for a place close to the beach where we could take our pup with us.....this apartment was the perfect answer. Not even a block from the beach the convenience was amazing. We were able to take multiple trips a day and if was effortless. It was also great being so close so when the pup came with us we could just pop him back home in minutes when he had had his full.

The apartment itself had everything you could need. There was nothing I needed that was not there and then some. The hosts were amazing....there when you needed them but gave you total privacy. I would go back in a heartbeat and plan to!!

Well-appointed, great location

This rental is very clean, has plenty of towels, including beach towels (and chairs too!) Excellent washer/dryer, useful kitchen, and very spacious. Walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and the beach. The owner is a pleasure to deal with.

Extremely Satisfied!

First time we have used VRBO to find a vacation home and wish we had done this sooner. Great experience and enjoyed working directly with the owners, Christine & Mitch. The location was perfect, very short (@ one block) walk to beach as well as walk to shops and restaurants. When we did drive, everything we wanted was very close. We enjoyed using the guest pass to the YMCA, husband worked out twice and I enjoyed the outdoor pool. Lovely neighborhood when walking the dog around the block, some areas provided some shade so that the dog did not get overheated. Amazed that this unit had everything that we needed and lots of room for us and the dog. We also enjoyed the outdoor patio with comfortable seating for morning coffee and evening wine! And what a lovely touch to find fresh flowers on the kitchen table! Everything was very clean and well maintained. We have been to the Outer Banks 4 times before, but this was our best experience. We booked this home because of the reviews found here and because the guest pass to Y was offered. Thank you!

I kinda want to keep this place a secret

This place is wonderful, and I want to shout that out, but at the same time I want to keep it a secret so I will have availability when I go back and visit. We (myself and my 2 children, 18 and 21) loved the Outer Banks. The location of this place is central to everything, SO close to an amazing beach (not crowded), shopping and restaurants. The amenities Christine and Mitch offer are perfect to make you feel at home, along with their friendly personalities and hospitality. Everything is clean, well maintained, decorated beautifully, we didn't want to leave. My favorite part was the outdoor deck and all the beach supplies - beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, toys, and a cart to haul it all. Who does that? The first day they gave us so many suggestions of what to do and where to eat. My favorite was Morning View coffeehouse and Bill's Seafood Market. Even with all the lovely restaurants, our favorite meal was our seafood boil at home with all the fresh ingredients from Bill's. This place is amazing, you won't be disappointed and we hope to be back next year :)

Lovely, Comfortable and Relaxing Outer Banks Home

Firstly, we were looking for an affordable, well-maintained, clean townhouse, house or condo rental near the main Outer Banks attractions, and with easy beach access. There were two in our group, so we didn't need to break the bank with one of the 6 bedroom places. We searched thoroughly and saw the amazing reviews for this property.

We got absolutely everything we were looking for, and so much more. As so many say, the pictures do not do this place justice. We felt at home within minutes of stepping inside. The property was just as described. Everything was so clean and well-maintained.

The beach is two blocks away. I carried a cooler full of ice, and my only recommendation, get a cooler with wheels. With what you'll save renting this place, you could buy 50 wheeled coolers, or a refrigerator and Lowe's delivery to install it on the beach. Seriously, you can hear the waves from the rental, so it's not far to the beach.

The owners are friendly, easily accessible, and knowledgeable of the OBX/Nags Head area. We ate almost every meal at places they recommended, and was pleased with each place. We particularly enjoyed the Red Drum, which is probably 500 yards from the rental, so we walked there.

We also visited mostly places the owners recommended. Bodie Island lighthouse was nice, close by, and we were able to get into a group to climb to the top. The view from the top was amazing, and apparently they just opened the inside of this lighthouse for tours recently. Seeing the Wright brothers memorial was also very enjoyable. Otherwise, we spent most of the days relaxing and fishing on the beach. We liked that the beaches weren't crowded, like some of the other beach tourist destinations.

Ultimately, I would recommend this property to almost anyone looking to travel in a group of 2-4. Probably the best fit is a couple with 1-2 small children, followed by a vacationing couple.
