My family and I stayed here for a long weekend and overall were very pleased with our accommodations. The home is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The master suite is divine and the guest rooms on the lower level are perfect for multigenerational family vacations. The beds were very comfortable and the linens clean and crisp.
We loved walking the beach at low tide. Falling asleep to the crashing waves was so peaceful. The kitchen utensils are basic and showing signs of wear. Overall, we had a really fun weekend in a beautiful place and hope to stay here again! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Let me start by saying that the home is beautiful. The proximity to the beach, deck, & large windows provide great views and sounds of the ocean. Note there is a 1-story home directly between this property and the ocean, but you get views from this property's second story when looking left and right around its roof. Beware the nearby dirt path, it ends in a 15 foot cliff. Make the 5 minute walk down the street to the boardwalk for beach access.
The kitchen has pots, pans, food prep utensils, plates, glasses, coffee mugs, & so forth. But the management company requests that you have all of the dishes clean and put away when you check out at 11AM, so it is impossible to use them, clean, & dry prior to your departure, so breakfast on your final morning should be on paper plates our from a local restaurant.
Our favorite nearby restaurant was Blackbeard's Brewing - excellent pizza & beer. Note that Westport has fewer restaurants & sights than Ocean Shores, and a smaller beach, but we enjoyed the relative peace of this location. Yes we had police drive by once chasing an ATV, but it was more peaceful than Ocean Shores.
* Upon arrival, the refrigerator strongly reeked of fish, turning my wife's stomach, and the ice was unusable. We bought several boxes of baking soda to reduce the odor, which was somewhat effective.
* During our stay, some spider eggs decided to hatch and invade one of the bedrooms. We left a message for the management company, but it was not returned. That family moved to the couch.
* Several of the glasses in the cupboards were cracked or chipped, a safety hazard.
* The ceilings had lots of cobwebs, indicating it has been a while since a deep clean
* One of the mixing bowls had a hole the size of a nickel in the bottom
* There were no bicycles, which is okay, but don't advertise them if they don't exist
I might recommend this property to a friend, but would advise them to bring baking soda, bug spay, ice chest, and paper plates for their final morning.
The house itself is stunning. The beds were delightful! Everyone in our party agreed the beds were great! The view goes for miles and miles. Walking the beach and enjoying the sunsets was the best part of the trip!
