PLEASE NOTE! $200 is base ( single in apt ) price only. Check Notes section for other rate details. The house is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac high on a wooded hill overlooking The Hudson River and Catskill Mountains with some of the area's most breathtaking views. The sun sets right in front of the house every night and slightly to the south in winter. The two bedroom apt. is approximately 1000 square feet and located on the first floor of this modern and well maintained home. The apt is newly renovated. I installed new hardwood floors, sisal carpets, A/C and air purification system, new beds and bedding, some new furniture, fresh paint, new screens on porch and Flat screen TV. It has a well lit and private entry 50 ft.from parking. Bathroom with shower, large living room with fireplace ( firewood included ) which can accommodate more guests if necessary, Fully equipped kitchen, covered, screened in porch and large deck area with Small outdoor dining table, adirondack chairs and hammock.
I am an artist/designer living quietly upstairs. The two zones are very private and separate. The decor is tasteful, uncluttered and clean. Dogs are welcome depending on their temperament and size. Please mention ahead of time if you would like to bring your pup. They would not be permitted on furniture or beds and must be curbed on the premises and picked up after. I would love to share my idyllic setting and assist in anyway that might make your visit more comfortable.
The charming village of Rhinebeck is four miles north teeming with restaurants and shopping. i am surrounded on all sides by grand Hudson River Villas many of which are open to the public. I live in the midst of a NY State park where you will find miles of trails for hiking and biking. Norrie point is a public marina for sailing and kayaking. Southlands is an equestrian center just up the road. Further afield, Bard and Vassar Colleges have plenty to offer.. Tennis, indoor swimming, suana, art collections, music venues just to name a few. Hudson offers the best antiquing around while Millbrook has vineyards and the most bucolic country this side of 'The Pond', Downhill skiing is 45 minutes away, Catamount in the Berkshires or Windham and Hunter Mountains in The Catskills.

I have lived in Rhinebeck since 1990, my family has lived here since 1832. My kids are happily living elsewhere and they left a big vacancy so I am wanting to fill it with polite, friendly travelers who are curious about this part of the world. I am an artist /designer who lives upstairs with my pug, who will be especially happy to see you! I love to travel myself and hope you will find everything here that you might have at home or would expect to find in a good hotel or fully equipped house. I am accommodating, quiet and unobtrusive. Please let me know if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable or if you want suggestions to explore the area.
Hilary Huntington purchased this apartment in 2004
I bought this property immediately upon seeing the view. I instantly saw the potential and love living here!
The long distance views and sunsets will make it hard to tear yourself away! While you drive through a neighborhood to get here, once you rise up the vertiginous drive and arrive at the house, you will think you are miles from civilization. It's peaceful, quiet and occupies the highest geological point in the immediate area.
Great place to stay. Comfortable beds, great view, relatively close to Rhinebeck.
Enjoy a serene getaway in a pristine, uniquely and tastefully furnished apartment overlooking the Hudson and beyond. A wall of windows brings the outdoors in. Quiet central a/c keeps you pleasantly cool and comfortable in the heat of summer. The sunsets are fantastic from this hilltop retreat, but even a gray, rainy day is relaxing and restorative when spent in such a lovely location. Centrally located to many Hudson River attractions with the quaint town of Rhinebeck just a few miles up the road. Can't forget to mention the glorious beds and linens. You sink into comfort and luxury for a restful good night's sleep every night. Hilary is unobtrusive, but attentive if needed. Just a perfect place to stay when visiting the Hudson River Valley.
Beyond our expectations - clean, quiet, secluded, lovely surroundings...
I truly enjoyed my stay. Hilary was welcoming and accommodating. The home was clean and very well appointed with a comfortable bed, comfy sheets and towels, great location and fantastic view. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
This place is an absolute GEM!!! Our stay (June 3-5, 2016) was perfect in every way! The location is easy to find and access; close to Rhinebeck and major travel arteries. Though so conveniently close to everything, as we drove up the driveway to this lovely home, we were totally awed by the amazing view of the Hudson River and the mountains beyond and felt a world apart from civilization with only the majesty of trees, the river and mountains in our view....a perfect retreat!
All communication with host Hilary (from initial inquiry and reservation through post-stay) was prompt, friendly and extremely helpful and responsive. On arrival, Hilary greeted us with gracious hospitality, providing an overview of any information we'd need and ensuring all of our questions were answered (including helpful recommendations for local food) encouraging us to contact her without hesitation if we needed anything.
The apartment itself is private, bright and elegantly comfortable with thoughtful attention to design and decor and furnished with anything one might need for a comfortable stay. Furnishings are high end yet welcoming, comfortable and home-like with wonderful personalized touches, including a vase of fresh flowers! The comfortable mattress and luxurious bedding (along with the quiet tranquility) afforded a great night's sleep and the roomy, modern shower is at once relaxing and invigorating with full flow, great pressure and temperature regulation.
We thoroughly enjoyed the private, outdoor area from evening wine and jazz watching the sun set over the mountains beyond the river to morning coffee in the sunshine as my husband serenaded the deer with his guitar as they frolicked by through the trees below. Brunch at Hilary's recommended favorite, Bread Alone, in Rhinebeck was delicious (we shared the grilled mushroom, leek & goat cheese omelet and smoked salmon on rye). We savored the robust coffee before enjoying wandering through some of the nearby shops.
This is the perfect spot for a quiet, romantic get-away, a friends get-together, a tranquil retreat communing with the breathtaking natural beauty that abounds here or as home-base for exploring the surrounding Hudson Valley.
Hilary is a most gracious host who makes every effort to ensure a comfortable and welcoming stay for guests.
What luck to have found this amazing place when there were literally "no rooms at the inn" on a busy weekend in the area. We couldn't have chosen better!
Great place to stay in the Rhinebeck/Hyde park area of the Hudson Valley. Very comfortable 2 bedroom apartment in a beautiful home overlooking the Hudson River. Everything you need is provided to make your stay enjoyable. Would definitely come back if visiting the area.
