Best River/Mountain Views in the Area! $50 discount for using 1 bedroom

Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

The house is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac high on a wooded hill overlooking The Hudson River and Catskill Mountains with some of the area's most breathtaking views. The sun sets right in front of the house every night and slightly to the south in winter. The two bedroom apt. is approximately 1000 square feet and located on the first floor of this modern and well maintained home. The apt is newly renovated. I installed new hardwood floors, sisal carpets, A/C and air purification system, new beds and bedding, some new furniture, fresh paint, new screens on porch and Flat screen TV. It has a well lit and private entry 50 ft.from parking. Bathroom with shower, large living room with fireplace ( firewood included ) which can accommodate more guests if necessary, Fully equipped kitchen, covered, screened in porch and large deck area with small outdoor dining table, Adirondack chairs and hammock.

I am an artist/designer living quietly upstairs. The two zones are very private and separate. The decor is tasteful, uncluttered and clean. Dogs are welcome depending on their temperament and size. Please mention ahead of time if you would like to bring your pup. They would not be permitted on furniture or beds and must be curbed on the premises and picked up after. I would love to share my idyllic setting and assist in anyway that might make your visit more comfortable.

The charming village of Rhinebeck is four miles north teeming with restaurants and shopping. I am surrounded on all sides by grand Hudson River Villas many of which are open to the public. I live in the midst of a NY State park where you will find miles of trails for hiking and biking. Norrie point is a public marina for sailing and kayaking. Southlands is an equestrian center just up the road. Further afield, Bard and Vassar Colleges have plenty to offer.. Tennis, indoor swimming, sauna, art collections, music venues just to name a few. Hudson offers the best antiquing around while Millbrook has vineyards and the most bucolic country this side of 'The Pond', Downhill skiing is 45 minutes away, Catamount in the Berkshires or Windham and Hunter Mountains in The Catskills.

Keywords: Two Story Private Home, Owner lives upstairs in separate quarters.

About Hilary Huntington

I have lived in Rhinebeck since 1990, my family has lived here since 1832. My kids are happily living elsewhere and they left a big vacancy so I am wanting to fill it with polite, friendly travelers who are curious about this part of the world. I am an artist /designer who lives upstairs with my pug, who will be especially happy to see you! I love to travel myself and hope you will find everything here that you might have at home or would expect to find in a good hotel or fully equipped house. I am accommodating, quiet and unobtrusive. Please let me know if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable or if you want suggestions to explore the area.

Why Hilary Huntington chose New York

I bought this property immediately upon seeing the view. I instantly saw the potential and love living here!

What makes this apartment unique

The long distance views and sunsets will make it hard to tear yourself away! While you drive through a neighborhood to get here, once you rise up the vertiginous drive and arrive at the house, you will think you are miles from civilization. It's peaceful, quiet and occupies the highest geological point in the immediate area.

This property boasts the highest point in Hyde Park with geological markers to prove it. The views are sensational! If you are lovely guests :-) you are welcome to visit my deck for higher views! For pet owners, Please do not leave your pets alone in apt for more than 2-3 hrs at a time. I live upstairs and will worry about your pet esp if he barks or scratches on doors. If you are a single or a double, rate is for 1 bedroom only. If you sleep separately from your mate, your rate will increase if you need 2nd bedroom. See rate section for 2 singles in apt. Thank you.

Immaculate eclectic apartment in a tranquil setting minutes from bustling Rhinebeck

  • 5 of 5

Love the apartment, the views, and the most comfortable bed and cloud-like pillows. This apartment has everything you need for a great vacation in the Hudson Valley, Hyde Park/Rhinebeck area. Just a quick drive across the river to Saugerties and Woodstock when you have had your fill of quaint Rhinebeck and the surrounding sites. Hilary is a jewel and is happy to ensure that your stay is as perfect as can be.

Lovely, woodsy Hudson valley hideaway

  • 4 of 5

Hilary's home is lovely from the driveway to the living space to the view. So clean and well appointed and full of charm. We had good nights rest and coffee with a view. Even with the thunderstorms and staying in we had no choice but to relax drink wine and watch movies on the comfy couch. We would definitely stay again. Our friend from England felt it was a perfect getaway. Thanks for the hospitality!

What a perfect visit upstate

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend, her cousin and wife and I went back to this great home for a 2 night stay. The weather was perfect. The views were amazing. While Hilary was not home she was missed as we have returned over and over again. If you want to relax in a great 2 bedroom half of a house and have peace and quiet this is the place. As always it was clean and the place is furnished with quality items from furniture to the bedding to even the rolling butcher block that we used to cook and prep food. Town with shopping and restaurants are a ten minute ride away. Thank you Hilary for another amazing time. We will be back sooner then later. Tom

Hudson River Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect place to stay while visiting the great houses of the Hudson Valley. The place is exactly as pictured with the exception that the view to the river is infinitely more beautiful. Although the unit is under the main house with an overlying deck, the great room is light and bright even on cloudy days. The windows provide such an expansive view we never felt the need to sit outside although there is ample outdoor seating including a hammock. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and cookware. Tourism brochures and books on the area are a nice touch. You can't do better for a comfortable, homey scenic base in the Hudson.
