The house is well appointed as described, with wonderful views, we had a large group with plenty of sleeping options. The pool table, corn hole game, gas grill and fire pit were well used. The kitchen is well stocked with all appliances needed. Wal-Mart and the state store are easy to find from the homes location. We gem mined at Sheffield mines which is close by and had a blast. We collected close to 400 carats total. I think the only issue we had was accessing the house from the main road. The gravel road leading to the driveway was very steep, then when you reached the top it was hard to see the narrow driveway leading to the house especially at night. Not for the faint of heart. But once we arrived at the home there is plenty of parking in the garage, under the car port or in front of the house. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the home to all.
This place was magnificent, we stayed for the week and enjoyed ML baseball in Asheville, rafting on the Nantahala and tubing in Deep Creek, Twice. We were looking for a nice quiet getaway from the beach to recharge our batteries and let the kids have some fun before school starts; we found it here. We recommend the Buck Mountain Escape and will definitely look into renting in the future. This place would be awesome in the wintertime.
My wife, daughter, granddaughter, grandson, and I arrived on Thursday night to a very inviting home. On Friday, the kids enjoyed playing outside and inside in the game room. We then drove to Bryson City and enjoyed the Polar Express which I would recommend to any family seeking the joy of Christmas. On Saturday we drove highway 64 and enjoyed the scenery and waterfalls, including a hike down and behind the Dry Falls. Cold and wet, but great fun. The grandchildren really enjoyed this. I hope to be able to return to this property soon. Great home, great views, just a great place to get away with your family.
I was looking for a nice cabin for a group of friends for a long weekend and this was perfect! The cabin is large, spacious, and beautiful! It's an easy (if a little distant) drive to Asheville but Franklin is beautiful and nearby. I would highly recommend Buck Mountain Escape to anybody, definitely would stay again.
We were a family of grandparents, two grown children with their kids joining together from different states to spend a week together. When we arrived, we knew we had hit the jackpot. The upper porch was used each morning for early coffee while we watched the "smoke" dissipate. The kids joined one by one as they awoke and ate their breakfast on porch. At night the darkness of the rural area made a million stars bright the sky as we never see at home, as well as enjoying the fire pit on the grassy yard for marshmallow roasting. The working space in the kitchen accommodated three cooking women and helpful kids. And, we could all eat in the kitchen or set a more formal birthday party dinner celebration table in the lower walk-out. If we liked to return to the same vacation spot, we would return here.
