Yasaka House Kyoto

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay. The location is awesome, just off Shijodori road, a few steps to the river, many attractions and the train. There are tons of restaurants and cafes nearby. The house is on the second floor above a cafe. At night you might hear music from the cafe (we liked it).

It has a traditional tatami mat in the sleeping area and a couch and breakfast bar in the living room/kitchen area. All appliances and equipment are brand new.

There are also an Apple TV and a Nespresso machine. The kitchen is a decent size with a large refrigerator. There are heaters for the cold days, and air conditioning for summer (our stay was a very cold week in April, so we only had use for the heating). The keyless door makes getting in and out of the house very easy. Mori is super nice, responsive, helpful and accommodating.

Yasaka house is located inside a parking lot right in the heart of downtown Kyoto. IT was named Yasaka House because it is really close to Yasaka Shrine which is less than 1 KM away.

There is a beautiful park, Maruyama Koen just behind the Shrine gates and many many many beautiful paths that lead to wondrous places, temples and other shrines.

If you're a foodie, then Kyoto is one of the places that you're going to fall in love with. Within a 5 min walk, you can find sushi, yaki niku, obanzai ryori, kaiseki ryori, okonomiyaki and so much much - REALLY!

If you like the night scene, then being in the heart of Gion is going to keep you thrilled with all of it's eye candy that you can enjoy in the the wee hours of the morning if you so choose.

Kyoto has become the number 1 travel destination in the world for the second year in a row (2015). It is filled with magic - living beauty and serenity. It is not only a beautiful city but also a very safe one. Taking walks late at night are truly a treat when you don't have to worry about crime.

Things to bring to Kyoto are: a camera (there is so much culture and beauty everywhere), an empty suitcase (for all the wonderful souvenirs that you might buy for people and then decide to keep for yourself), and an open heart (to see and do and try and experience all that Kyoto has to offer.)

There is so much to do and so much to see. Come and have your heart moved by the beauty of Kyoto and its people.
