3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Lake view, close to beaches, main level of house
About Autumn Pulfer
I grew up in Lake Country and moved home with my husband Jason after we had our daughter. We live on the east hillside in Oyama and absolutely love our community!
Autumn Pulfer purchased this House in 2008
Why Autumn Pulfer chose Oyama
The location can't be beat!! Oyama is a small, quiet town, and our home is located right between Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake. The home is also a block away from the new Rail Trail which offers a biking, running, and walking trail from Oyama to Vernon and Oyama to Kelowna. If you want to experience the larger centres of Kelowna or Vernon they are nearby.
What makes this House unique
Location, location, location!! When we bought our home we bought it for the location: close to the lake and in a small community yet close to Kelowna and Vernon. Now with the new Rail Trail it can't be beat!!
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Our home away from home!
This is our third stay here and we LOVE it! Size is perfect for our family. Super clean and just enough stuff to be comfortable but not cluttered. Location is amazing and owners are super helpful and accommodating! We spend all year dreaming of our summer trip to Oyama and this house. Two bathrooms are great at the end of a long day on the water and air is so nice too. Kitchen. Is roomy and clean and we’ll equipped. We love eating and chatting on the deck. Love seeing the lake from the kitchen so we know when to get on the water. Kids love running to the beach in 30 seconds and swam morning, afternoon, night and even a midnight swim!
Great location and property
The property had everything we needed for our two families. 7 people and plenty of room. Close to both lakes. Autumn and Jayson were fantastic hosts. Jay was there immediately to solve two very minor issues. Fantastic place and look forward to returning.
The Hagen and Lehbauer families
We really enjoyed our second stay in this home and stayed 10 days this time. This is a perfect spot to visit our family and be close to the lake for summer fun. Clean and beautiful and air conditioned, this fully equipped home is a great home base for exploring the Okanagan in style and comfort!
Comfortable Home with Responsive Owners
Great location between two swimming beaches perfect for kids. Yet close access to main roads and town of Winfield 15 minutes away.
Very comfortable home - practical and good social spaces. We were 4 adults and 3 kids, and everyone had lots of room.
Owners were welcoming and gracious, quick to respond when we needed something or had questions, but otherwise left us alone. The kids played in the backyard shade or picked raspberries in front. Everyone agreed this was the best of the 3 rentals we've tried so far. We will be back!
Beautiful home and location
The house was great. It had everything we needed. It was the ideal location for our holiday.
Amazing stay between the lakes!
This was a perfect vacation home for us (two adults and two kids 11 and 13 years). When we arrived we were able to get right in to unpack with a key in a lock box. The house was spotless, beautiful and well equipped. Hardwood floors, comfy leather couches, tile floors and skylights in the kitchen and bathrooms. There was enough decoration to be cozy but not so much that you feel like you are living in someone else's house. The air conditioning was a godsend given the gorgeous weather we had! It was super quiet at night and you could hit the beach with a ball if you had a good arm. There were multiple beaches to choose from and a boat launch less than 2 minutes drive away, tons of room to park and store gear! We biked around Wood Lake and were going to start on Kal lake but we ran out of time. We rode in to Winfield on the bike trail and went to the bakery and hit the farmers market and Kangaroo Creek Farm there too. The house had everything we needed: beach towels, comfy clean beds, a fully equipped kitchen, sunny deck and backyard and a view of the lake that allowed us to check the boating conditions each morning without stepping out of the door. We ate our breakfast on the deck each morning. Packed our gear and hit the beach or bike trails for the day and then returned to shower eat supper on the deck and relax and watch a movie in our pjs. We rode down to the general store one evening and had burgers at the food truck next door and then shopped at the Orchard across the street for fruit, homemade cookies and pies, and honey... Everything in the home worked perfectly. We never saw or heard the tenant living below. I honestly couldn't offer a suggestion to improve this vacation home. We called the owners once with a question and they responded in minutes to help us out. They were super accommodating of all our needs before and during our stay and very fair and reasonable to deal with. We would love to go back!
Our home is located right between Kalamalka Lake and Wood Lake. The beaches of Wood Lake are only 1 block away where you will find over 1.5 km of beach along the north and northeast shores of the lake. We are also 1 block from the new Rail Trail!! The Rail Trail offers many kilometers of biking, walking and running trails from Oyama to Kelowna and Oyama to Vernon. There is an area to launch boats at the northeast corner of Wood Lake only 0.5 km away. Once on Wood Lake you can cruise south and check out Turtle Bay Pub for lunch or dinner on there deck overlooking the lake. There are places to park your boat once there. If you prefer to head to Kalamalka lake there is a canal connecting Wood and Kalamalka Lakes. Once on Kalamalka Lake you can check out the cliffs on the east side of the lake which is a popular place for people to climb off and jump into the lake! If you head all the way to Vernon on Kalamalka Lake you can check out Alexander's Pub for lunch or dinner. They also have a dock to tie boats. If you want a day away from the water you can head up Oyama Lake Road to the Oyama Ziplines! It is about a 10-15 min drive and is fun for everyone! If you continue on Oyama Lake Road you can get to Oyama Lake which has nice hiking trails and is a good fishing lake. The road isn't the best in some places so it is better to have a vehicle with good clearance. If you want to go to the beaches of Kalamalka Lake you can walk down Trask Rd to Pioneer Park or a little further to Kaloya Park. Both parks have beaches and picnic tables. Kaloya park has a nice trail to walk along the shores of Kalamalka Lake. Oyama General Store is about 0.5 km down the road and you can get necessities like milk, cheese, butter etc and they have a liquor store. For full grocery shopping you can head to Vernon (about 20 min drive or to downtown Lake Country (about 10 min drive). In Lake Country there is a Cooper's and IGA for groceries. There are a few restaurants in Lake Country worth mentioning. L'Isolla Bella is a great little Italian Restaurant. Chantanna's is a delicious Thai Restaurant (don't be put off by the location! the food is excellent!). There is a good Greek restaurant call the Greek House and a great sushi place called Osho Japanese Restaurant.
Kelowna is the largest nearby centre and is about a 25 min drive from the house. There is Orchard Park Mall for shopping and City Park downtown is very nice. The Okanagan is known for it's wineries! The closest wineries are in Lake Country - worth checking out are Gray Monk Winery, Ex Nihilo Winery, Arrowleaf Winery, 50th Parallel Winery and Intrigue Winery. There are also many nice wineries on the West Side of Kelowna including Mission Hill and Quail's Gate Wineries.
