|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
Our home is 1500 sq. ft and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a large south facing deck with views of Wood Lake and the mountains. There is a hot tub on the deck with direct access from the ensuite of the master bedroom. There is a large backyard with a seating area, fire pit and hammock. We are 1 block to the beaches of Wood Lake and only a 2 min walk to the beaches of Kalamalka Lake at Pioneer Park and a 10 min walk to Kaloya Park which is also on Kalamalka Lake. There is a boat launch just down the road (2 min drive). You can launch your boat onto Wood Lake and then there is access through the canal to Kalamalka Lake. Vernon and Kelowna are both only a short 20 min drive away! We are also very close to to Oyama Lake Road which will take you to great hiking, dirt biking/quading trails and the Oyama Ziplines! We have 2 parks within walking distance for the kids. There are walking trails in Kaloya Park just down the road as well as trails all along the shores of Wood Lake 1 block away. There is a convenience store just down the road which sells liquor and snacks, milk, etc.
This location can not be beat!! Come relax and enjoy the summer in the Okanagan!
The location can't be beat!! Oyama is a small, quiet town, and our home is located right between Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake. If you want to experience the larger centres of Kelowna or Vernon they are nearby.
The property is what you see in the pictures. There are no surprises. It is is a well kept home. Everything you might require is there. It is conveniently located in lake country.
The hosts are friendly and made the experience enjoyable. For our first experience booking a vacation rental home by owner it was wonderful. They set a high standard. It was very comfortable. We created some wonderful memories in lake country, enjoyed the fruit stands, the wineries, antiques stores, and restaurants.
Nestled between two lakes and surrounded by orchards on the hillsides this was a great summer spot for our family.
The house was well set up for a family and had everything we needed. Autumn was great about answering our questions and was very friendly and helpful.
Looking forward to a repeat next year!
We really enjoyed staying Autumn's beautiful home. It had everything we needed for the stay; even toys for the kids! We also thoroughly enjoyed the BBQ on the patio and the hot tub :)
The location is great with a short drive to some of the great orchards in the area (we preferred Davison's west of Vernon) as well as the Kangaroo reserve 10min south. We visited both lakes, which are nice and close by, but the Kalamalka lake was best from the beach at the end of the peninsula.
The house itself was great, with lots of space for all six of us, and a great back yard for the boys to run around in as well.
We would definitely go there again!
We had a great stay in this very clean home. During the day we walked over to the beach and were able to just hop in our boat, that we accessed right off the beach.. We spent most afternoons soaking up the sunshine, hitting the local markets & wineries and of course boating in the lakes. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to recommend this place..
Thanks Autumn and Jason..
We really enjoyed our stay at this rental! The house was very clean, in a great location close to the beach and we enjoyed spending the nights on the patio eating dinner and hanging out in the hot tub.
We had a wonderful week at this rental. We used to live in the area, so we were looking for a quiet place not overun with tourists. The location is a few minutes walk to the beach on Wood or Kal lake. The house is spacious and has absolutely everything you need, including lots of extras like a cooler, beach chairs, and many kids tots/games.
Our home is located right between Kalamalka Lake and Wood Lake. The beaches of Wood Lake are only 1 block away where you will find over 1.5 km of beach along the north and northeast shores of the lake. There is an area to launch boats at the northeast corner of Wood Lake only 0.5 km away. Once on Wood Lake you can cruise south and check out Turtle Bay Pub for lunch or dinner on there deck overlooking the lake. There are places to park your boat once there. If you prefer to head to Kalamalka lake there is a canal connecting Wood and Kalamalka Lakes. Once on Kalamalka Lake you can check out the cliffs on the east side of the lake which is a popular place for people to climb off and jump into the lake! If you head all the way to Vernon on Kalamalka Lake you can check out Alexander's Pub for lunch or dinner. They also have a dock to tie boats. If you want a day away from the water you can head up Oyama Lake Road to the Oyama Ziplines! It is about a 10-15 min drive and is fun for everyone! If you continue on Oyama Lake Road you can get to Oyama Lake which has nice hiking trails and is a good fishing lake. The road isn't the best in some places so it is better to have a vehicle with good clearance. If you want to go to the beaches of Kalamalka Lake you can walk down Trask Rd to Pioneer Park or a little further to Kaloya Park. Both parks have beaches and picnic tables. Kaloya park has a nice trail to walk along the shores of Kalamalka Lake. Oyama General Store is about 0.5 km down the road and you can get necessities like milk, cheese, butter etc and they have a liquor store. For full grocery shopping you can head to Vernon (about 20 min drive or to downtown Lake Country (about 10 min drive). In Lake Country there is a Cooper's and IGA for groceries. There are a few restaurants in Lake Country worth mentioning. L'Isolla Bella is a great little Italian Restaurant. Chantanna's is a delicious Thai Restaurant (don't be put off by the location! the food is excellent!). There is a good Greek restaurant call the Greek House and a great sushi place called Osho Japanese Restaurant.
Kelowna is the largest nearby centre and is about a 25 min drive from the house. There is Orchard Park Mall for shopping and City Park downtown is very nice. The Okanagan is known for it's wineries! The closest wineries are in Lake Country - worth checking out are Gray Monk Winery, Ex Nihilo Winery, Arrowleaf Winery, 50th Parallel Winery and Intrigue Winery. There are also many nice wineries on the West Side of Kelowna including Mission Hill and Quail's Gate Wineries.
