We stayed at the home for four nights and had a great time. The views and the breezes were amazing as stated by previous renters. A car is necessary as the area is a bit remote, but it worked for my family of 5 of which 3 are teenagers. We went to the beach at Megans Bay a lot (very close) and also went to Lindquist beach which was worth the drive. We made a day trip to St John which was nice and an easy drive from the home. The house is in an area of luxury Cliffside homes, it feels remote, but our family felt safe and had a great time in the gated community.
There are not enough characters for seven people aged 19 to 57 to describe this experience, but here's a few comments. "We had an amazing time! The best out of all the times we've come. Thank you sooooo much!" "I've died and gone to Heaven!" "I never want to leave." We saw a rainbow every day over the water, through the clouds, between and over the islands and aimed straight for "Heaven" which is where we felt we were. Not to mention the sea turtle, fish, sting ray and a few beautiful boats that passed by with friendly hand waves. My grandfather brought me to the island in 1989 after having brought my grandmother to it for 25 years prior. My husband and I shared that same experience with my children and niece and nephew on a cruise in 2010. Over the past five years, my oldest son and his girlfriend have visited the island either by cruise or hotel. Last year they became engaged at the Botanical Garden. This year was the year for all of us to revisit St. Thomas and St. John for another family vacation. Well, Scott and JoAnn, your home was more than any of us ever imagined. It provided us an opportunity to relax, REALLY relax, enjoy each others company, laugh an awful lot and to dream and plan our next visit to St. Thomas. Between the two islands and Virgin Gorda, we snorkeled 6 of 8 days at 10 different beaches seeing several sharks, octopus, sting rays, turtles and many species of fish on our snorkel adventures. We were out of the house before 8:00 AM and home after 5:00 PM. We ate a hardy breakfast each morning at your home, made sandwiches to bring with us and shared wonderful meals each night. We sank into your beautiful homey beds each night, exhausted but so filled with that days wonderful memories. None of us wanted to leave, so we are already discussing our return trip in the future. With the thousands of pictures we accumulated
from our trip, many of them are of the views from your beautiful home. Don't change a thing, as perfection is difficult to find. With a warm and heartfelt thank you,
The Duffy, Kyttle, Beem and Thomas Family
This home is truly extraordinary in every respect.
The 3-level, 4-BR layout offers: great views from every angle, many options to spread out and relax, and privacy. The location is just 10 minutes from Magens Bay, and 20 minutes to either the Red Hook beaches or to Charlotte Amalie.
Joann and Steve are great to work with, and they've thought of every detail. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
We were a party of 7 with five 20-somethings in tow. We had plenty of space for family dinners or to enjoy some solitude. This home had everything you needed to enjoy St. Thomas. We were a 10 minute drive to Magen's Bay Beach and 25 minutes to Red Hook from where we traveled to St. John and BVI. You'll definitely want a car to enjoy the island. A few minutes away is Brooks Bar and Restaurant for local food. It's open air with a pool table. Nothing fancy. The conch and stewed chicken were wonderful. Plenty of grocery shopping options within 10-20 minutes. JoAnn is very responsive. She and her husband were delightful hosts. We would stay here again.
We loved everything about this property - especially the panoramic views! The master bath view left us speechless. JoAnn was more than accommodating and very helpful! We had the best vacation!
This was my 6th trip to the USVI, and this is the nicest place I've stayed. Our family of 8 was perfectly comfortable. The lay-out made it easy to gather together, and easy to get a little privacy too. The minute we opened the gate we knew this place was a winner!! I cannot begin to describe the breathtaking views from every corner of this villa. The owners thought of many extras making our vacation perfect. An abundance of beach towels & chairs, coolers, and high quality snorkel equipment! If you enjoy close proximity to nature, we observed many species of lizards, iguanas, hermit crabs, soldier crabs, and cool birds on the cliffs surrounding the villa. I understand we just missed the Humpback whale migration right outside the windows. Also, Joann responded immediately to a wi-fi inquiry. Clearly, I cannot say enough about this awesome place. On my next visit to the islands....This is where I want to stay!
