We had an amazing time! The house is warm and inviting yet spacious enough to accommodate our growing family. We spent relaxing days playing games, watching movies, napping, eating and celebrating the New Year. We found the house adequately supplied with everything: from utensils, cookware, blankets, towels, pillows, games...etc. - Erin has done an amazing job creating a place for a truly stress-free vacation!
P.S. The Hubbard Lake sunrises were magnificent!
Our first time on Hubbard Lake - We were so thrilled with the accommodations and the lake was beautiful! The house was very comfortable with almost everything you need. Great group spaces to visit with family and play games. We did rent pontoon a few days from Churchill Point, just a short walk away. Looking forward to next year.
More than enough room for everyone. Well supplied with cooking wares, towels (finally found the beach towels the morning we were packing up to leave). Could use a few signs to let people know where things are. Laughed at the talking deer. TVs were great (remote in the main living area didn't work ), loved the rowboat and paddleboat. Only one day of heavy rain but that meant we were all inside since the decks aren't designed for coverage. Had one water leak in the kitchen that Erin got fixed immediately. Only went to Alpena for groceries twice, the Great Lakes Maritime Museum, and Maplewood Tavern to meet Clarice the 97 year old owner/bar tender. Very quiet...not much lake traffic. Nice vacation for us.
The house is big, the lake is quiet, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect multi-generational getaway. We loved the large kitchen/dining room and prepared all our meals there. Two refrigerators provided plenty of space for all of our groceries and leftovers and the kitchen was well stocked with tools.
We used the row boat and brought our own kayaks and canoe. We also swam. The water was nice!
We would love to return someday.
My friends and I had a blast at this vacation rental. Hubbard Lake is a beautiful northern Michigan lake. The lodge itself is stocked with everything you need to cook food. Lots of space for fun activities. Plenty of parking. There is a marina less than a mile away which has pontoon availability for rental and also good seafood if you are interested. Would definitely recommend this rental to any group looking for a northern Michigan experience (families, friends, get aways, etc.)
This home was more than we expected. Everything was beautiful. Such warmth and coziness and everything we could have possibly needed was provided. The views were spectacular. The surrounding was quiet and peaceful. The manager was a pleasure to work with and very timely in all her responses and provided additional information of the surrounding area.
I hope we have an opportunity to stay here again.
