My family is no stranger to VRBO and AirBnB for our vacation rentals, but I can honestly say that this was THE best place we've ever stayed at. The views, the pools, the lagoon, the finishes and the overall value topped all other trips.
The Beach Villas at Ko Olina will have your family smiling from sunrise to sunset. We stayed in a three bedroom which was ideal for our family of six. And we saw other families of similar size during our 8 night stay and many groups of families staying there.
The lagoon/beach was perfect for our littlest guy (limited waves with the break walls, super sandy bottom and plenty of fish for snorkeling). The kid pool area had a number of different areas connected by a canal so the pool never felt crowded and our two older boys swam all day. No matter what time we went down to the pool we were able to get at least one or two loungers to stash our stuff and usually more.
The local area is a mini-resort with a small grocery store, a handful of shops and restaurants (hit up Monkeypod - great for families or couples with two levels and outdoor seating). There's a nice walking path along the ocean from lagoon to lagoon that goes to the Disney Resort and Four Seasons at Lagoon 1. We walked through the Disney resort (and while very beautiful) were eager to get back to our much more low key slice of paradise.
A larger grocery store and a Target are less than 10 minutes away. We also took advantage of the Paradise Cove Luau which is walking distance from the Beach Villas.
If you're looking for a late-night place, this isn't for you. The on-premise Tiki Bar shuts down by 9pm and you're quite a drive from the bars and restaurants of Honolulu.
You will need a vehicle to explore the island while you're here meaning that you'll be packing up for day trips to places like the North Shore, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor and other sites on this amazing island (Diamond Head hike is worth it for the views).
And as the title of this review states, my oldest son (a newly minted tween at age 10), thanked me every single day for such an amazing vacation and place to stay.
The owner (Brooke) was super responsive and easy to work with and the on-site management staff was helpful with the handful of questions that we had.
I will recommend the Beach Villas at Ko Olina to anyone heading to Oahu! #Mahalo
The villa was gorgeous. Any issues we had which weren't many were attended to immediately. Great view of beach and lagoon pool. Ko olina itself is a lovely spot. We did a big grocery shop at down to earth in kapolei and food world. The villa was fully equipped to cook everything we wanted to. We had a hire car so we also drove into waikiki parked at the galleria duty free shipping and ate at Cheesecake Factory, dukes and pf Changs. I would stay here again.
The condo was fantastic, rooms were large, beds were very comfortable and everything was functional. There were boogie boards and beach chairs for us to use which our kids loved. The pool and common areas are amazing, no restaurant on site but we loved the onsite bar, and it is a short walk to several dining options! The pool is literally steps away from the beach allowing you to spend time in either one through out the day without having to pack up the car and drive anywhere. Booking through the owner was easy and we had no problems during our stay. I definitely recommend this property!
We spent our very first Hawaiian vacation in this condo and it was absolutely amazing. We actually booked this unit and VRBO property #3611107, which worked out perfectly for our 2 family vacation. The units are both owned by Brooke and are in the same building so the kids could come and go between the 2 condos. We were met by the property manager and escorted around so that he could show us all the amenities of the resort. He made sure we knew where we needed to park, helped with luggage and checked in with us periodically throughout our stay to make sure we didn't need anything including helping book any activities we were interested in. The accommodations were gorgeous and had everything you need to make your stay a good one, including chairs and toys for the beach. The owner Brooke was easy to deal with, friendly and very accommodating to any changes we needed to make. I would definetely recommend staying in this unit and am in fact in the process of booking our next trip back.
Our long anticipated Hawaiian vacation did not disappoint! This villa is wonderful. Everything described and more...The location of this villa in the Beach Tower is one I would highly recommend. My favorite being the lanai that stretched across the entire living room area...we had that open all the time! The sights and sounds of the lagoon pool and the ocean were just amazing. The villa lay out was perfect for my family. So glad we stayed here instead of the Aulani or the Beach Club. No crowds!! The kids had the pools almost to themselves. Relaxing for the parents. Really, the grounds, pools, and lagoon were picture perfect. Brooke was so easy to work with, and always just a email, call, or text away.
I would and have recommended this place to family and friends. Stores are so close too. We did almost all of our eating in. We wanted to enjoy the villa instead of going out to eat! Fantastic!
Wonderful stay in property ideal for families. Location and amenities of the Ko Olina villas are perfect for families wanting a stress free holiday. Swimming pools are great for chilling, or for bbq's (just watch out for those putting towels on the sun loungers 2 hours before the pool opens!). The beach lagoons are uncrowded for sunbathing, and the snorkeling is surprisingly good and safe (my 3 year old was swimming with turtles by the end of the holiday) Property is very nice and modern. The layout of the lounge, kitchen and large balcony make it a pleasure eating at home (and with Costco a 5 minute drive away, very affordable). Would definitely recommend this location / property to anyone.
Area within Kapolei.
