New Cottage with private association Lake Michigan access!

Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this new cottage. Just completed in June, 2015.

Bluewater Cottage is a charming summer haven nestled in the woods with 1/4 mile of private association Lake Michigan access. You can walk or drive down to the water via the beach road.

Due to the constant change in lake conditions, the shoreline may become wider or narrower, sandy or rocky. This is the nature of our beautiful lake. Currently the shoreline is rocky with narrow sand..

The Great Escape:

Located within the private association neighborhood of Glenn Shores makes this the perfect place to bring your bikes to ride along the twisty, tree cover roads and enjoy the solitude of this private getaway. Located North of downtown South Haven, it is also not far from Saugatuck...another amazing coastal town to explore. Nearby you will also find an array of other activities including golf, fishing, kayak rentals, antiquing, a farm market and so much more.

3 Bedrooms, 2 baths, plus a loft room:

Bluewater Cottage is everything a great vacation home should be. It has the coziness and comfort you would expect from a cottage, but with enough room for two families or 3 couples to enjoy comfortably at 1610 square feet. Not only does it have a first floor master bedroom with a king bed and connected bath with a shower and Carrera marble vanity, it also has a queen bedroom upstairs with a vaulted ceiling and a kids bunk room (one twin over full bunk bed and a separate twin bed). In addition, there is a loft room which supplies the kids with their own place to escape to watch a movie, or play games. This room has a twin day bed for sleeping or watching movies that also converts to a king bed, making it ideal for adults too. Adjacent is a cozy reading nook with wicker chairs.

The upstairs has a full bath with a tub/shower combo.

The cottage has hand scraped hickory hardwood floor throughout with wood plank tile floors in the bathrooms. There are also full sized Maytag frontloading washer and dryer for your use and stainless appliances in the kitchen.

On chilly fall nights, you will enjoy the warmth of the fieldstone fireplace in the living room. The is also a 55 inch TV with Roku and Netflix service.

We allow up to 6 adults maximum per booking. The cottage sleeps up to 6 adults plus children. The maximum number of guests is 10.

Room 1: 1 King Bed with 32 in TV with Roku and Netflix

Room 2: 1 Queen Bed, desk, rocking chair, and pack-n-play

Room 3: 1 twin over full bunk bed, 1 twin bed, and desk

Loft Room: 1 twin daybed that converts to a king bed (not a sleeper sofa) 32" TV with DVD and a good selection of movies.

Porch Time:

What would a cottage be without a big porch? Whether you prefer to swing on the big front porch to watch the sun rise, or sit in the glider in the screened porch with a good book in the afternoon, this cottage offers both. The screen porch also has a table and chair set.

Family Time:

Since vacations are all about family time, this cottage was designed with families in mind. You will enjoy the open floor plan this cottage offers. The kitchen, dining, and living room are all one large open area. And, with a big farmhouse table which seats 8, you can all enjoy meals together. There is also a large 55" flat screen TV with Ruku and Netflix service, a gas fieldstone fireplace, and dry bar for your enjoyment within this space.

The Kitchen:

In the kitchen you will enjoy all of the modern conveniences with the charm of cottage esthetics. White glass front cabinets, and open shelving display all of the white and blue dishes. Surrounded by glass subway tile, the stainless appliances glisten. Some of the many amenities include an apron sink, quartz countertops, Cuisinart grill, blender, mixer, crock pot, microwave, shake machine, griddle, toaster, and toaster oven.

Internet:

To stay connected while getting away from it all, there is wireless internet for your convenience. Also, both of the upstairs bedrooms have desks if you must do a little work or check in with the office.

A Good Book:

We had a custom bookshelf constructed in the stairway to hold the many book title available for your use. If you like a good beach read, there are plenty in this library!

S'mores?

Ah... there is nothing like gathering around the fire pit at night toasting marshmallows for s'mores and listening to the crickets. With plenty of room for everyone, marshmallow sticks and wood to burn, this promises to be a favorite pastime of your stay.

Take It Outside:

Planning on a nap? Try out the 13ft rope hammock or bring along some yard games to enjoy on the grass.

BBQ Anyone?

Bring some charcoal along for a great BBQ meal on the outdoor Weber grill.

The Little Ones:

We have few extras to make the stay for our tiny guests enjoyable; a pack n play and changing pad in the queen bedroom closet, a high chair, a wagon, and a turtle sandbox. There is also a rocking chair in the queen bedroom.

Park It:

In order to save as many trees on the property as possible, the driveway will accommodate only a maximum of 3 vehicles and parking on the road is not permitted.

Four Legged Family Members:

Sorry, but your four legged friends and other pets will need to find a resort of their own while you are away. This is strictly enforced.

No Butts About It:

There is no smoking allowed inside or out at this property. Including e-cigs.

Rental Period:

During Peak Summer Season, we rent only weekly Friday to Friday. Please reference the rates tab for applicable dates.

Unforgettable stay for our family!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home in a peaceful neighborhood. Location was perfect for day trips to some of our favorite areas including Saugatuck, Holland and South Haven. The home is well cared for and was very comfortable for our family of six. We hope to return next summer to make even more memories!

The house was new, clean and comfortable! It had a lot of extras-- beach umbrella, stroller, etc.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying in the house! It was comfortable and beautifully decorated in a beach theme! There was a screened in porch and a fire pit. We had a fire every night! There was a washer and dryer that we could use. We had five days of the seven with only one shower for eight people! We contacted the owner, and she had it repaired for the last two days of our stay. We booked the house because it said you could walk to the beach from the house. This would have been a plus for our family since my daughter has two children and is six months pregnant. In reality, when talking to the permanent residents in the area, the lake has been high the past several years ( certainly since this house was built), and not only the beach is non existent, but the boat dock is dangerous and mostly washed away! We were really disappointed about this, because we felt the owner should have disclosed this! Thus, we only got to the beach by driving to a nature preserve and into South Haven on two day trips, instead of being able to go to the beach everyday as we had planned. Beach access was the main reason we booked this property, and we would have gone elsewhere if we had known this!

Cozy and Perfect

  • 5 of 5

This house was absolutely perfect for our stay in South Haven. There were six adults and one child. It was private, tucked away in the cutest wooded area, 10 minutes north of South Haven proper. There are so many areas of the house that were perfect for hanging out. The kitchen was a great place to cook family-style meals, and the fire pit perfect for s'mores.

The lake was a very shot walk away. Though the beach area is very very small, we still managed to take advantage of swimming.

The house was beautifully decorated and new!

Could not recommend this house more.

Beautiful home with easy beach access

  • 5 of 5

As others have said, the house is gorgeous. My wife is an interior designer and went on all week about the decorating and style.

I'm not an interior designer, but am a neat freak. The house was beautifully maintained, clean, bright, airy and comfortable. We had young kids with us, and even that was OK because the owners provided coverups for the furniture so we didn't worry about getting sand all over the place.

The backyard is perfect with an outdoor dining table, grill, shower and gorgeous firepit we used every night. Seasoned firewood is also provided.

The best part was the ease of beach access. In previous stays, we've had to use stairways of 100+ stairs to get to the beach. There are neighborhood stairs for this private beach, but this property is just around the block from a boat ramp. We drove down to the boat ramp, parked along the access road with other residents, and walked to the sand - no stairs. The beach was uncrowded, clean and quiet.

Debbie was highly responsive to any questions we had, and we cannot wait to come back.

Wonderful cottage

  • 5 of 5

This house is well designed and beautifully decorated. The owners have truly thought of everything!! When we arrived, the house was very clean and the closets, dressers, pantry, etc. were all cleaned out so we had plenty of space to unpack for the week.

My kids loved playing outside in the big yard as well as in the loft area upstairs. We didn't have any rainy days, but if we had, there was a great selection of movies, books, and games to entertain us.

The house is located in a nice quiet neighborhood north of downtown South Haven. While you can't really walk to any of the South Haven attractions, they are a short drive away. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a more quiet/peaceful location as well as anyone who might be a bit more "high maintenance" (like me!) and is looking for a newer/cleaner cottage with all the amenities of home. We would definitely stay here again!!

Well appointed cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My mother, two aunts and myself spent a long weekend at this beautiful cottage. The owners are great to work with and have done an amazing job decorating their home. The layout of the cottage is very functional for two couples with a master bedroom and bath on both levels, and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen had everything one would need to prepare meals, if they chose to do so. We ladies really enjoyed the front porch in the morning for coffee and utilized the screened in porch or firepit area in the evenings. We were sad to leave and hope to return again soon for a longer stay. We will definitely recommend this rental to friends and family.
