Beautiful, comfortable, spacious and clean

  • 3 of 5

The house and the naighborhood were fantastic! We loved the house decor and the comfort of it. We got there on the fist day of Canaval, so the noise was horrendous for five days. The whole family enjoyed visiting family and the old and Nuevo Mazatlan. The people were very friendly, the food was delicious. We will like to rent this house again, but in another time of year.

Fantastic Ocean and Malecon View

  • 3 of 5

The views are spectacular! It was so wonderful to sit on the roof top terrace and look down on the water and the malecon. And the location of the house is excellent; one block from the Shrimp Bucket and a short walk to the Plaza Machado and the Mercado.

The house is roomy and clean. Wifi and Canadian (Shaw) satellite are very reliable. The property managers are very professional and responsive to any inquiries and requests or concerns. They were totally top notch.

We wished there was an umbrella on the roof top terrace, and more lounge chairs (the house accommodates a large group but there were only 2 lounge chairs), and we would have liked a beach umbrella and beach chairs so we could go sit at the water on the Malecon. The bathroom in the rooftop bedroom is a bit awkwardly laid out, and there is no closet in that bedroom. But it is amazing to walk out of your room and be on the rooftop. Be prepared to walk up hills to the house, and up and down stairs throughout the house.

We love Mazatlan and intend to live there one day. This home is right in the very best neighbourhood and all in all, it was a great experience for us.

Huge house in the best part of Mazatlan!

  • 4 of 5

The house is huge and has excellent views of Centro Historico, plus easy beach and restaurant access. Everything you'd want to do and see is pretty much within walking distance. Lori and the management team were excellent and took care of everything we needed. We had a great time here, and I'm sure you will too.

Lovely home

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I had a lovely stay in Mazatlan for 10 days.

I had two concerns prior to the trip –safety and convenience of the location, and quality of the tap water. My concerns were uncalled for. The house was right in the Centro district near Malecon and it's very accessible to many restaurants, cafes and beaches. We walked everywhere (lighthouse, the market and even to the gold zone) and we never once felt threatened. People were very nice and friendly. The house apparently has a good water filtration system and I was able to drink the water directly from the tap and never got sick.

The house was very clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. I loved sitting on the roof level which has an excellent view of the ocean. I also enjoyed eating breakfast in the garden which is very zen-like, relaxing and beautiful.

The manager of the house was very helpful. She drove us to the house from the airport and gave us a tour of the house and the area. She also gave us tips on restaurants, cafes, spas and zip-line tours.

I would stay at this place again if I return to Mazatlan and I would definitely recommend the house to friends/relatives who want to visit Mazatlan.

Great views, great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this spacious hillside house for about four months this winter. The photos on the website accurately portray the home. The listing is accurate and describes the property well.

There are new windows all with screens throughout and, between the windows and the overhead fans, we didn't need to use the air conditioning at all but it was nice to know that it was there if we did need it.

The rooftop was our favourite part of the house. Very few places in Mazatlan offer the panoramic views or Olas Altas, the Malecon and el Faro that you get from this site.

Having a purified water system was a big bonus. All the water from all the taps throughout the house is potable - something we take for granted north of the border but a real plus in Mexico.

The kitchen is well equipped and functional. With two full-sized fridges there is no reason to run out of beer!

There are plenty of great restaurants within easy walking distance.

Proximity to all the entertainment on Olas Altas is a bit of a double-edged sword. It is great to have such easy access to the night life and eating establishments but that means the property gets its share of noise from those same establishments. Some nights it is necessary to close windows you might rather have open and put in earplugs - unless you ascribe to the "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" adage.

All in all, we would rent this property again in a heartbeat and, in fact, we will the next winter we decide to stay in Mazatlan.

Gardeners help keep the back garden in great shape; and we have nothing but praise for the housekeeper.
