Surrounded by tree-lined streets, lush squares, & famed architecture, the Columbia Square Inn is ready to welcome you to Savannah! Located in the Landmark Historic District, this circa 1842 one-level garden flat is part of a larger estate and is filled with contemporary and historic treasures.

One of the many perks of our garden apartment is that you are in the middle of all that Savannah offers (you face one of the most majestic original squares) & are next door to the famous 17Hundred90 Tavern and Restaurant. You have your own private courtyard as well with a covered seating area and teak dining table. Of course, our off-street parking space is a nice treat as well!!

History buffs will be in heaven at the Columbia Square Inn! Our home was renovated in 2012 but still retains its historic charm.

Stroll down the majestic oak-lined streets to attractions- it’s just a five minute walk to the famous River Street in one direction, and a ten minute walk to Forsyth Park in the other! Enjoy beautiful days in the park or one of the fabulous squares throughout the city.

My husband and I purchased the Inn in 2012. We chose to live and work in the old inn and rent out the garden level for guests to enjoy our home and its surroundings. We love living here in the center of Savannah's historic district with its wonderful homes and architecture. We love that we do not need a car to explore our wonderful city.

You'll know as soon as you arrive, this address is perfect - you are two doors down to Davenport House museum, a block to the Owens Thomas museum, and literally next door to 17Hundred90 Tavern and Restaurant. If you are looking to park and walk your entire vacation, this is the home for you.

The location is quiet yet close to the action! Best of both worlds.

What makes this house unique

Strolling downtown's tree-lined streets & squares with your pet, having a drink at 17Hundred90 next door, breakfast at J. Christophers' (outdoor seating, dogs allowed), lunch down York Lane at Wall's BBQ, dinner at B. Mathews (outdoor seating, dogs allowed). All within easy walking distance. If you look at the location map you will see listed a number of places of interest....some good, some not worth your trouble.

Some friends and I were in town for the scad baseball parent weekend at the same time 23,000 marathon runners were also in town. That actually turned out to be a good thing as, with the hotels completely booked, I came across the Savannah Sea Maiden. It was perfect in every way - comfort, location, cleanliness, roominess. I hope to stay here every time I'm in Savannah now. Thanks, Laurie, for creating such a wonderful place to stay right in the heart of Savannah!

Best vacation and most relaxing place I have ever had

I was so impressed with the garden apartment I did not want to leave. You can’t beat the location overlooking Columbia Square. Me and my husband enjoyed our stay for five days and would have extended another five if our schedule allowed. It is within walking distance to all the great shops, restaurants and historical museums. The court yard was absolutely lovely, my two greyhounds would lounge and relax out there all afternoon.It was so romantic we would get take out and eat out in the picnic table surrounded by the lovely gardens and have our coffee in the mornings. We had wonderful time and the owners were extremely accommodating. I am planning on going back for my birthday celebration for at least a week.

Owner's Response: Thank you for pointing out what a fantastic outdoor dining area this rental has to offer. Everything about this large gated courtyard is ideal because it provides privacy and ambience right in the heart of the downtown commercial area. Whether you order an entire meal from a local restaurant such as B Matthew's or just a happy hour drink from the 1790 (our city allows you to have a carryout cocktail!) it is a rare luxury to be able to enjoy it in your own gated historic courtyard.

Southern Charm

The property was exactly like it was portrayed. The gated courtyard that surrounds the apartment gives a real sense of security. The interior was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and spices and all of the utensils to make a weekend or week stay very comfortable. We definitely will go back in the future.

Absolutely Beautiful!!

We loved the house and the area. It was so cool to sit on the patio at night and hear carriages going by. We had everything we needed and wanted. Right in the heart of the historic district. We loved having on-site parking. There were lots of places within walking distance. I felt like if there was anything we needed we could have called the owner and she would have taken care of it. We would definitely stay there again.

Great property, Great Location

Booked a 3 night stay and it was great! Owner was prompt in communication, met us at check-in and was responsive to requests! The house was nicely furnished and served as the perfect location for our vacation to historic Savannah. Thanks for the southern hospitality, we will definitely come again!

The host is nice. The place is clean. It is in the hart of Savannah and has most of things we need. Especially it includes a parking space and a laundry machine. I definitely recommend the place.

Charming

Savannah is in itself a wonderful city to experience, and this lovely two bedroom garden apartment complimented our stay to perfection. The unit is fully stocked with any accoutrement or convenience one might desire or need. The wrap-around patio is perhaps the most welcoming feature, along with the comfy beds, pillows, great kitchen, luxurious linens, well appointed furnishings, tasteful art, and.....need I go on. To use one word - "SUPERB"- would suffice as an apt description of our stay. The location is quiet, yet close-by to all that this tremendous town has to offer. Savannah is a walking experience, and from this well located home-away-from-home, the adventure easily begins. Highly recommend this great place to spend some time down South.

The only negative is the single bathroom, but if you spend that much time in a bathroom to matter much, then why travel at all.

The Columbia Square Inn faces Columbia Square in the premiere beautiful & quiet Landmark Historic District. We are in the middle of the district with Historic Savannah Foundation on one side and the Davenport House museum on the other.

Carriage tours, walking tours, architecture tours - looking for something in particular? Just ask us and we'll point you in the right direction.

We are next door to the 1790 Restaurant and Tavern and only a few blocks from most of Savannah's famous eateries. Everything is within walking distance..too tired from a day of exploring, take one of our always available and reasonable pedi-cabs.
