Well-furnished oceanfront condo with great views from the 12th floor

Ocean Forest Plaza guests can enjoy the many amenities including two heated pools - one outdoor and one indoor, a relaxing Jacuzzi, a sauna, or a steam room. Vending machines in building. Outdoor grill on premises. ATM in lobby. 24 hour security. Free Wi-Fi internet access. Free Showtime.

Laundry facilities are provided in the building. Covered parking is available free of charge. This is a 12th floor unit with awesome views up and down the beach.

The unit includes 2 full beds and 1 queen sleeper sofa as well as a full kitchen, 1 1/4 baths and incredible views that stretch for miles.

As of 10/1/17 all items mentioned in reviews have been upgraded/corrected, including a new sleeper sofa.

I own another condo in this resort for those travelling with a larger party.

This property is close to most of the major attractions of the area. It states it sleeps 6 but the sleeper sofa is easily missing 10 or more springs and does not hold the mattress up. If you are fine with sharing full beds at this time I would say it sleeps 4. I would be willing to rent again if repairs are made.

Owner's Response: The sofa bed in the condo will be replaced with a new one this month. No one had told me there were problems with it. I encourage all renters to communicate with me and let me know of any problems. If I'm not made aware, I cannot address any issues. I'd prefer being notified so I can rectify immediately rather than seeing a negative review.

Book with someone else!!!

I have no idea how this room received 5 star reviews!!

First issue noticed was with the linens. I paid for linens because I expected the beds to be made when I got there and I didn't have double sheets. Upon arrival, all linens were in a trash bag on the floor and I got a note from Tony- (the owner of the cleaning service) that they were "out" of double sized sheet sets so he gave me a queen set instead for one of the beds. The fitted sheet and top sheet weren't even the same material. Only one blanket in the closet- had holes in it. Towels also had stains- I don't care how many times they've been washed, I don't want to see stains on my linens. Had to contact Ted to get new ones.

Next problem was noticed in the bathroom, the toilet doesn't flush correctly so you have to hold in down for 20 SECONDS and sometimes that didn't even do it- Tony also left a note for that. Not sure why it wasn't fixed prior to our arrival. The ceilings in the bathroom are peeling all over the place. Tony had 2 plumbers who came in while we were eating breakfast. They made a ton of noise and when they left, the toilet was NOT fixed. I told Ted I didn't want anyone else coming in during our stay. This was supposed to be vacation.

The kitchen appeared fine at first until I discovered the DISGUSTING cooking utensils and pans!!! They are not usable what-so-ever! There was red junk on the floor in front of the dishwasher- horrible cleaning job. One night, I went to get water and turned on the light- a COCKROACH was crawling on top of the counter!!!! threw everything on the counter away. Also had to throw food away when the vent above the kitchen was leaking on the countertop.

The pull out couch is not suitable for sitting- the back of the couch digs into your back. TVs are very small and HBO was not included like our email stated. Also, WIFI hardly works at all! Tried connecting to different access points but we still had to be standing in particular spot to get signal.

I had to keep reminding myself that I didn't book a crappy motel room during this stay. Décor is extremely outdated- there's no way it has been renovated since the building was built. Needs a DEEP cleaning and an exterminator! It seems the owner does the bare minimum with this place. I have a whole album in my phone with gross pictures from my stay in this condo- wish I could post them!!! Good location so save yourself the trouble and book with a different owner who has a nice condo

Owner's Response: I am not local so am not aware of some things unless I am told. Preferably via email, text, or phone, rather than negative reviews. The pictures in the ad are current and the condo is NOT out-dated. I will be updating with new pictures in just a few days as the sofa bed was just replaced. I was just made aware of the bathroom ceilings and will rectify that next week. The pots and pans will be inspected and replaced as needed. As noted, as soon as they told me there was an issue with the toilet, I had a plumber there that day. Apparently it wasn't fixed to their satisfaction but they wouldn't let me have the plumber come out again. It was rectified the day they checked out. I'll inspect and rectify all issues within 2 weeks from today. I always respond ASAP to any and all issues I am made aware of. HBO is included, I have no idea what she is talking about. The wifi is perfectly fine throughout the condo. I can get 8-10mbps download consistently. The vent she refers to is where the AC comes out, and on very hot days there is sometimes condensation built up. That usually occurs when they leave the sliding doors open and the warm air from outside meets the cold air coming from the vent. My maintenance person spoke to this woman's husband, and he led us to believe none of it was a big deal.

Nice but...

OK-we were fine and enjoyed the stay..but that is the beach and the pool. How can that be wrong?? We are really not picky people,


1: I know they, roaches, are every where but we saw 2 in the apartments and then 2 down by the pool around 8:30pm. I wish i would have thought about asking when the UNIT gets sprayed. Just keep it in mind. I saw 1 in a Wendy's and another one at the Pelicans BB game. So I know..its just you don't want to see them.

2: The pull out sofa bed. Horrible due to its age. It needs replaced.

3. It takes 2 remotes to control the TV's and you don't have an updated channel guide so you had to flip until you found your channel

4. The bathroom ceiling had plaster breaking loose and the toilet needs fixed because you had to hold the handle down until it flushes all the way.

5: The first 4 points are minor situations that can be over looked, but the parking CANNOT be. It is horrible. if your car is bigger than a Smart car, you will have trouble. To go up levels, the up-ramp requires you to swing wide and cut sharp. The first time you will probably need to make a 3 point turn into it so you line up. There are scraps on the walls. I have a Charger and I had about 2 inches on each side. The parking spaces seem tight too. The have a lot for oversize trucks and vans, but we don't know what "oversize" is. A person said he was told his van would be towed and he had to park in the garage. On the side street it states parking for residents with a MB decal or their guests...I figured I was a guest and parked there. I asked a guard and was told OK. Well not OK. I got a ticket from MB police. So I had to go down to boardwalk area and talk to the police. They waived the charges. So be warned, DON'T PARK on the STREET!!!

All and all, it suited our needs, but the parking was just such a hassle, we didn't want to leave and re-park.

The beach, ocean, pool, and view all very nice....but wish we did not have to deal with the other stuff

Owner's Response: The sofa bed has been replaced earlier this month. The bathroom ceiling has been scraped and painted earlier this month. The units are sprayed monthly for insects. The parking deck can be a challenge, but I am able to drive my wife's Ford Expedition all the way to the top. Not that I'd recommend that. But there is a lot on-site used for oversized vehicles. I also have a charger and have no problems at all in the garage. The streets are well-marked as being for Myrtle Beach residents only. This condo is in a very residential/quiet part of town. I'm not sure how the streets could be better marked as no parking allowed. Even I can't park on them when visiting town.

Great location!

This condo is in a great location - on the 12th floor, so you have great views of the ocean and it's not in the busy section of MB, so the beach isn't crowded and crazy. We would definitely stay here again!
