Charming Mas Provençal overlooking Vaison and the Baronnies. Very quiet place at a stone throw of the village market, cultural attractions, restaurants and ruins. 4 bedrooms farmhouse sleeping 7, spacious living and dining, beautifully landscaped garden with vineyard, lavender, and other fruit trees, private heated pool fitted with security curtain, closed garage, alarm, WiFi, BBQ, 3 mountain bikes available, kitchen fully equipped. One of the bedroom located on the ground floor is prepared for person with limited mobility. This bedroom is fitted with an electrically adjustable bed that accommodates different heights, back and foot rest positions. The bathroom meets all requirements for person with limited mobility (handles, shower seat, Italian shower enclosures,...). This bedroom has a panoramic view over the mountains and has a direct access to the pool deck to enable interaction between the occupant and the rest of the family around the pool.

Guests will have complementary access to three mountain bikes (2 for men + 1 for woman) ; guests will help themselves with the fruits from the compound (cherry in June, figs and lavender in July and August, grapes and almonds in September, olives in October). The swimming pool is opened and heated from June 1st to September 30th.

Few weeks before check in, you will receive an email with all information to prepare for your arrival (Geo points, telephone numbers and access road).

During your stay at the Magnaneraie, you will be provided with the contact number of Jean-Louis, the site manager, in case of need. He will welcome you upon arrival, explain you the basic functioning of the house, take care of the administrative issues, give you some "tips and tricks" for the region, and let you enjoy the place.

During your stay Jean-Louis may come once (twice by windy weather) to clean the swimming pool. If your stay is longer than a week, Jean-Louis is coming on Saturday morning for the complementary change of linen and cleaning of the house.

Your rental of la Magnaneraie is made in full compliance with the prevailing national and local laws and regulations.

La Magnaneraie is rented on 7 consecutive days. During the high season we rent from SUNDAY to SUNDAY to spare you from roasting in your car for hours when getting stuck in the famous traffic jams of the Autouroute du Soleil. Rental cost varies depending on the season:

Low season = 1,200 Euro/week inclusive of bedding's, linen and end of stay cleaning.

Intermediate season = 1,800 Euro/week inclusive of bedding's, linen and end of stay cleaning.

High season = 2,400 Euro/week inclusive of bedding's, linen and end of stay cleaning.

One of the bedroom located on the ground floor is prepared for person with limited mobility. This bedroom is fitted with an electrically adjustable bed that accommodates different heights, back and foot rest positions. The bathroom meets all requirements for person with limited mobility (handles, shower seat, Italian shower enclosures,...). This bedroom has a panoramic view over the mountains and has a direct access to the pool deck to enable interaction between the occupant and the rest of the family around the pool.

La Magnaneraie does not have any immediate neighbor. The house is surrounded by vineyards and fields of pasture. Access to the site is through a private road which leads to some two other houses only.

There is no public transportation system providing direct access to the house. Access to the house would generally be by private transportation means.

Why Didier Salzmann chose Haut-Vaucluse

I grew up in this part of France and as I have been traveling and living abroad most of my life, this house serves as a anchor point where I belong. The house is an old silk farm very nicely renovated and maintained, it offers the calm of the countryside while being very close to the city center. This location is mostly appreciated during summer, when you want to enjoy all cultural activities without suffering the noise and promiscuity of a busy town central district.

What makes this farmhouse unique

We are proposing change overs on Sunday during the summer months to avoid getting our guests stuck for hours in the famous traffic jams of the Autoroute du Soleil.

From this bedroom the summer dinning place, the living room and TV corner are easily accessible.

Very private location , air conditioning is needed in the property if I was to stay again ,

Owner's Response: Dear Stuart, Many thanks for your review. I recognize that you endured a particularly severe heat wave during your stay. The issue of AC is a bit complicated, as if strict measures are followed, such as closing window shutters and windows from dawn to dusk, the thickness of the walls ususally preserves some freshness inside. This is how generations of Provençaux have gone through centuries of summer. This being said, I recognize that AC could deal with it, but it would not go well with a "mas provençale". Base camp for a wine tour

Five wine tourers visited the South-Rhone apellations for a long weekend. We rented this lovely house, that was above our expectations. It was comfortable in every way. The garden is a beauty, the house is in the middle of old vineyards. We could reach all the cellars and other places easily.

We had nice dinners around the big table, and tasted the wines we collected during the day.

Beautiful country home with fantastic views

We had a fantastic time in this clean and comfortable Provençal farmhouse. We were welcomed by the caretaker couple, Jean and Ondine, who were wonderful and very helpful. The grounds and gardens were beautiful and the pool was great. We enjoyed cooking out on the grill and dining on the outdoor patio. We would definitely return!

Great House, Wonderful Pool, Beautiful Views

We spent a perfect week at Mas Provencal, the house itself is very comfortable, with all the necessary mod cons, the pool is a good size and in a wonderful position, as are the surrounding patios. The panoramic views are beautiful, over the vineyards and up to the not so distant mountains . The market town of Vaison- La- Romaine is close by, with its fantastic old sector, vibrant market and many great restaurants. The Villa is a good base for exploring the Rhone countryside, with is many stunning villages and famous winegrowing areas such as Gigondas and Chateauneuf du Pape.

We would love to come back.

So beautiful!!

We spent two glorious weeks in this lovely French home! The grounds were lovely, and the pool was a welcome place after days out touring the countryside. The location is great for lots of side trips, and Vaison la Romaine is a wonderful town. Jean Louis and Ondine were so helpful and kind. I hope to return someday. Anyone who stays here is fortunate indeed!!

Vaison la Romaine is famous to be presenting faces from three very different eras, the Roman Era with lots of ruins some of them very well maintained, a medieval village with fortress and fortifications and a contemporary town. The village offers on Tuesday morning one of the most famous and larger Provencal market where you will find all ingredients for the wonderful Provencal cuisine "avec l'accent du midi". The countryside around is absolutely wonderful and offers a wide variety of landscapes. The Mt Ventoux is the playing ground for lots of treks and biking, and hardly can one count the number of famous wines in the vicinity. Everyone would find something of its test!.

We do expect that you respect the house as well as the site manager, that you are mindful of any water and electricity wastes, that you promptly inform Jean-Louis in case of problem, that you keep him informed of your best estimated time of arrival (please call Jean-Louis 30mn before arrival, i. e. when you exit the highway when coming from Lyon or Marseille) and you respect the departure time by the end of your stay at La Magnaneraie.
