John and Wendy are Michigan natives who grew up spending time with family in Northern Michigan. We love this area so much that we purchased this home to provide an opportunity for others to build great memories and enjoy the Pure Michigan experience. We currently reside in south eastern MI and own another property not far from this one where we come to enjoy the great things this area has to offer. We hope you love this lake and area as much as we do!
John and Wendy purchased this cottage in 2014
We purchased this property because of its charm and the beautiful views of the lake.
This home is nestled between large trees and down a small hill when you turn off the main road. The natural, sloping landscaping and beautiful lakefront yard is breathtaking no matter what the season. The knotty washed pine ceilings and neutral tones provide a warm cottage feel. It is the perfect place to play hard on the water or relax with a book overlooking the lake. In the after dinner hours, fisherman troll the lake catching a variety of fish from large mouth bass to pike. Even youngsters can enjoy easily catching bluegill right off the dock!
Cozy, clean, and comfortable describe this home! You won't regret staying here. Couldn't have asked for a better accommodation. You'll immediately feel relaxed and at one with nature. Be sure to eat out early or bring food as many restaurants and shops in area close early.
Wow!!! This place is immaculate with all the comforts of home including the little things that you might've forgotten or didn't expect. The beds were very comfortable and the home had plenty space to entertain. Beautiful lake views and its so peaceful on the deck! My kids caught fish off of the dock and on the boat. The entire experience was superior from start to finish. I wish every place provided this level of service, dedication and support to their guests!!
We had a great time while we stayed here. The house was clean and you felt right at home. They had plenty of outdoor activities for us to do. My husband and I chose to do little sight seeing but for the most part we just relaxed on the back porch enjoying the quite and listening to nature sounds. I would have to say this week was one of the best weeks we have had on vacation. Owners are great people too.
This is a great vacation home in a great location. The home is updated and well maintained. It and had plenty of space for my family of four (who didn't want to leave at the end of the week). The yard is huge and the dock and lake access are great. The home is a short drive from Bellaire, which has a number of dining and shopping options. Overall, this is a great vacation rental property.
We had a wonderful stay and what a peaceful escape it was! Perfectly clean and ready for our arrival, John & Wendy and their friendly staff anticipated our needs down to the details of providing marshmallow roasting sticks! The instructions were always clear and offered many helpful tips about where to go for fun and food (big thumbs up to Red Mesa Mexican and sunset in Boyne City!). We loved the cozy feel and setting -- we were away from it all for a week but still within an easy drive to wonderful beaches, parks and towns. We would highly recommend Peaceful Escape for parents looking to rekindle those Northern Michigan memories and create some new ones for their family.
This was a really great cottage! They had everything you could possibly wish for and more. The place is very clean, up-to-date, and comfy. Bald eagles, loons, and a huge muskie sighting made it an even better get-way. John and Wendy deal with you with courtesy and integrity. I'd absolutely recommend this for my friends and family.
