About Alexandra/Stefan (Owner)

Brought up in the hotel and restaurant business and over 52 years of vacation rental experience we understand what our guests are looking for.

Why Alexandra/Stefan (Owner) chose Northwest Colorado

Because we care very much that our guests really have a wonderful time when they come to stay with us.The property is one of only 11 properties that is actually at river level. We think that our animals, the 62 ducks, frogs, daily visits from "Big Boy" the heron, the horse who thinks he is a dog and plays with a live bear (see youtube) and our dogs make it a fun place to stay as well.

What makes this apartment unique

On the 40 mile stretch of the Roaring Fork, this home is right on the river's edge. This is one of the few properties where the bike path and irrigation ditch are NOT between the home and the river.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is my third stay here. I come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, Hong Kong to be precise. I usually leave as fit as fiddle after my wonderful bike rides up and down the valley, the wonderful clean air and all round healthy life style. I sleep so well in that oh so comfortable bed. Listening to the River at night lulls me to sleep. My children come with me sometimes and discover something new each time I come. Can't wait to come back!

We keep coming back

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year staying with Stefan and Alexandra and they have become dear friends. We love this place, the peacefulness and the sound of the Roaring Fork at night from our bedroom door. Everything is perfect for us. We especially love seeing Wasabi, the horse, wandering around and we have spoilt him terribly by giving him carrots regularly! Can't wait to be back next year.

Beautiful and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

The property was amazing, our kids had a fantastic time exploring! The rental was perfect and offered every home amenity you may need to make your stay comfortable. Every little detail had already been thought of. Stefan was a wonderful host, very welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to return!

It was our fourth stay and each one gets better than the last. Alexandra and Stefan make us feel like welcome guests and returning friends but are also not obtrusive; they keep the delicate balance between being interested in our activities and being distant. We are looking forward to our next stay at the end of the year.

Bit of Heaven was Heavenly!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a bit of HEAVEN on the banks of the Roaring Fork! Alexandra and Stefan were perfect, charming hosts, and the location was ideal for a fly fishing trip. The apartment was meticulously appointed and spotlessly clean when I arrived. The kitchen was very functional, the bed super comfy, the Direct TV package worked flawlessly, and the entire apartment had been recently updated. I had a fantastic 1 week stay! The only minor suggestion that I have is to include some external photos of the apartment as it would help renters visualize the setting better, which is quite nice. For people new to the area, Alexandra and Stefan were fantastic hosts and great resources for things like groceries, restaurants, cooking supplies, extra spices, etc. They both seemed to maintain the perfect balance of being there if you needed any help, and preserving your privacy, so it was the best of both worlds that they balanced perfectly! Overall a great apartment, stay and vacation! Highly recommended and 5 stars!!!!!

Owner's Response: Oh! Steve what a perfect review and you are the perfect guest. Thank you, and we enjoyed having you here so much. You will always be the avid genuine "gentleman" fisherman to us. Come rain, sleet, snow, hail or sun you were out fishing and enjoying life with joy in your heart.

Oasis in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

Peaceful part of the Rocky mountains by the river, what more could you want. Alexandra and Stefan are great hosts, leave you to yourself and you don't notice them unless you need them.

The location is perfect, walking distance to the town if you want a 15 min walk or drive in 5 mins. I went skiing every other day, short 35 drive to Snowmass, Highlands and Aspen. The other days I rode my bike along the 80 mile trail taking in the gorgeous scenery.

The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped, with views over the river frontage and the mountains at the back. I can honestly say, that this is a piece of heaven for you to relax and get away from it all.

Sorry to leave but will be back for sure

Thanks Alexandra and Stefan for making my stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

Beatiful property, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful with plenty of space and everything we needed. Our dogs were able to run off-leash and they got to meet a horse! It was great to have the river nearby and the owners were very friendly.
