This spacious and cozy Victorian style cottage situated on a 300 acre private ranch is a wonderful place to spend a fun family vacation in Wimberley, Texas! The exceptionally unique property is a true "country" retreat with resort-like amenities conveniently located less than 5 miles from downtown Wimberley and just 45 minutes from downtown Austin.

Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. Just off the kitchen is the dining room with solid windows pouring in the natural beauty of the hill country surroundings. The living area boasts two oversized leather chairs, sleeper sofa, and a wood burning fireplace. The master suite also located downstairs is a delightful retreat for the most deserving! King size bed, wood carved fireplace, en-suite bathroom, and direct access to the wraparound porch for ultimate convenience.

Upstairs, bedroom two offers a double bed, baby crib, and a large window seat where you can relax and take in the extraordinary long distance views and star gazing after sunset. Connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom, bedroom three contains a queen size bed and a twin bed. The stunning antiques throughout the home have been passed down from generations and add tremendous character to each and every room.

There is a detached guest quarters for groups who want to utilize the entire property at its full potential. The bedroom boasts a king size bed as well as a double bed. There is also a living area with flat screen TV, kitchenette, and full bathroom. Guests commonly add the guest house to utilize the bathroom as a convenient swimming pool bathroom since it has direct access outside.

Wendy purchased Hills of Texas Lodging in Wimberley, Texas after working independently in the vacation rental industry the two years prior where she built great local relationships and learned first hand what guests are looking for when they come to the area. She is now managing and conducting reservations for a handful of 5 star accommodations located in the Wimberley, Dripping Springs, and Marble Falls areas. Clean but old

Our family enjoyed it. Very secluded and quiet! Only wildlife seen was a jackrabbit. Upstairs shower water would never warm up. It was not cool upstairs either, need more window coverings. We enjoyed the time in the pool but the pool vacuum cleaner needs to run at night not during the day - it was always getting in our way.

ready to visit next year

our grown children are already urging we book for next year! they loved the view, the pool, the short drive to Wimberley and the Blue Hole & Mt. Baldy staircase. Enjoyed the ever-present breeze and wrap-around porch and guest house was a hit, too. the small grandkids liked the swing&slide and seeing the wildlife on the drives (gate to house).

kitchen utensils aplenty but we could not find a can opener. And just a "heads-up", the TV began to post a message (at start up) that the projector lamp was about to fail.

VERY nice four days & nights....thank you, from all of our family's school teachers

This place was great!

We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the pool and hot tub so much, we did not hit as many of the stops we intended to. There was plenty of room for our large group to spread out. The guest house made it really nice. The constant breeze from being at the top of the hill made it wonderful to be outside all day.

Fabulous and beautiful!

This place is even better than the pictures! Everything you needed was included, in the kitchen, bedrooms, laundry room, and even the pool! The guests we had were so very impressed with the house, view and property, that many asked how to book it. I even got inquiries from people I didn't know who saw the pictures on Facebook and inquired through my relatives who were there. Everything was immaculate, including the pool. The manager was wonderful, and I recommend more than five stars for this place. We also booked the pool house for the younger family members, and they loved having their "own" house - they were able to sleep late undisturbed! We had two graduations to attend, then came right back to enjoy this wonderful ranch for every minute we could.

This property is only 3.5 miles from the Wimberley town square. Wimberley is situated ideally between Austin to the north and San Antonio to the south. Regardless from which direction you arrive, Wimberley is the first place where the terrain markedly changes. The second you arrive in this valley, you instantly realize that you are in the Hill Country. Its location is the essence of the atmosphere that permeates this community. One moment you are driving on a plateau, and suddenly you drop into this beautiful, idyllic little valley where Wimberley is nestled.

Canyon Lake is one of the four premier lakes in Texas. What makes it such a coveted place to enjoy is how it is nestled in the Texas Hill Country, giving it a certain beauty that is all its own. Canyon Lake is only a 30-minute drive from downtown Wimberley.

There are a lot of "must sees" in the area, but here are some of our personal suggestions...

1. Blue Hole is frequently ranked as one of the “10 best Swimming Holes in Texas,” by travel magazines and respected publications like “Texas Monthly,”

2. Jacob’s Well is among the most unique perpetual artesian springs in the world.

3. Wimberley is the Zipline. Participants fasten themselves into a safety harness, complete with protective gear, and the fly 2,600 feet across some of the most beautiful terrain in Texas.

4. Corral Theatre. This unique, small town movie-going experience has been America’s only walk-in, sit-down outdoor movie theatre since 1948. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night during the summer, the Corral offers a slate of first run movies for the entire family.

5. And a long list of vineyards including but not limited to Mandola's Estate Winery, Wimberley Valley Winery, The Bella Vista Ranch, and Driftwood Vineyards.

- There is a 3 night minimum stay and peak rates apply for all major holidays.
- For last minute reservations, the Guest House can be rented by itself as long as the main house has not already been reserved. The rate would be $150 plus
- You can add additional guests and additional nights to your stay at any time but once the final payment is collected you will not be able to decrease guests or nights.
- If a reservation is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival it is fully refundable minus the initial deposit. If a reservation is cancelled within 30 days of arrival, full payment is forfeited.
- Check-in time is 4:00 P.M. and check out time is 11 A.M.
- All guests participating in the reservation will be registered on the rental agreement prior to your arrival date. Should there be unregistered guests at the property, at any time, for any length of time without prior approval, you will be asked to leave and forfeit the remainder of your reservation. No monies will be refunded. No parties, day guests, or events are permitted at any of our properties without written approval (additional fees may apply).
- Guest shall assume all risk of any injury to self and/or their guests. Guest agrees to hold property owner and Hills of Texas Lodging harmless for all injuries incurred while guest is on premises, regardless of how such injuries are sustained.
- Guest shall use the property for residential purposes only and in a careful manner to prevent any damage or loss to the property and keep the property in clean and sanitary condition at all times.
- Guests shall refrain from loud noise and shall not disturb, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor shall guests use the property for any immoral, offensive or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, association rules or ordinances, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the property.
- This property is not pet friendly. If evidence of pet(s) is found upon departure, a $500 cleaning fee will be added to your bill.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
