The house is located in the jungle forest near the Mayan village Central Vallarta while only 15min (18km) from Puerto Morelos and the beach. You get the best of both worlds. You are close to the Mayan Riviera while living on a secluded property surrounded by tropical forest and cenotes.

Jason & Elssa purchased this house in 2015
The house is located near Central Vallarta in the middle of the jungle while being only 15min. (18km) drive from the beach. You get the best of both worlds. You are close to the touristic paradise of the Riviera Maya while living on a secluded property surrounded by tropical forests. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on two floors for your convenience. There is also a rooftop terrace which is excellent for bird watching and star gazing. It has many of the amenities of a modern home including a full kitchen and unlimited internet while being situated well off the beaten path.
We are generally not present when the house is rented. However, there is a property manager on site most of the time. There are two other homes owned by Canadians on the property, the owners live there year round. There are also caretakers on the property most days. We are located just 15min. (18 km) from downtown Puerto Morelos and the beautiful sandy beaches of the caribbean. It is just off the Ruta de los Cenotes, home to over a dozen eco-tourist sites, two of which are within 15min. walking distance (Sieta Bocas, Boca del Puma). Cenotes are a vast network of sinkholes, caves and caverns providing access to underground rivers and pools. Many of the sites are also equipped with zip-lines, eco-walks, horseback riding etc. Although not a requirement, it is strongly recommended to have a car to stay on this property. Alternatively, there is access to local public transportation/vans called "collectivos" 10min. walk to main road. Rides can be arranged.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The house and property are beautiful, just as they appear in the photos. Gerry stopped by when I arrived, to make sure I had everything I needed, and also kept me stocked with plenty of bottled water. Jason also emailed to check in after my arrival to make sure everything was going well. Both were easy to contact at all times. There is a major grocery store nearby in Puerto Morelos, where I stocked up on everything I needed for the week, and it was easy to get to the highway if I wanted to venture out for a day trip.
It was so nice to have a secluded place to stay, while still being close to Puerto Morelos, and not far from Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The house is definitely off the beaten track, in the jungle, so I would definitely recommend renting an SUV, not a car. For the nature lover- this house is paradise. It was so relaxing to fall asleep and wake up to the hum of the jungle.
When I wanted a low-key day, I visited Puerto Morelos, but when I was looking for a little more excitement, I drove down to Playa del Carmen. I also spent one day visiting Akumal, which is a small town, but with the nicest beach of the three, in my opinion. It's also worth visiting some of the Mayan ruins. Ek Balam is only about a 2 hour drive, and the nearby town of Valladolid is worth the trip in and of itself. Definitely make sure you have time to enjoy both if you're going to make the drive.
All and all, I enjoyed everything about staying here, and would not only recommend it, but I hope to return!

The property is located in proximity to Central Vallarta a small Mayan town, known historically for its role in the production of chewing gum made from tree sap. ECOY3 is within a two to three hour drive from some of the most interesting Mayan archeological sites. We strongly recommend visiting Ek Balam or Coba.
There is grocery shopping available within a 10 min. (15 km) drive from the house at Chedraui, a full service north american style super market. There are also several small fresh produce stands in the Colonia Zetina Gasca where you can shop with the locals. Costco, Walmart, Home Depot and other north american stores can be found 30-40 min. away in either Cancun or Playa del Carmen.
There are a number of websites that provide tourists with information on life in the region. We recommend you familiarize yourself with their content to maximise your experience during your stay.
