Lodi Cottage Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 children

Our cozy cottage is right in the heart of wine country and overlooks Seneca Lake from the east side, so the sunsets are amazing and filled with spectacular colors. Set among summer cottages and homes in a rustic/country-style neighborhood, our property has 45 feet of lake frontage with a dock. Depending on the weather and day of the week, the atmosphere on this uncongested lake ranges from calm and peaceful to joyful and fun.

Our newly renovated cottage features a luxurious bathroom with a whirlpool tub, an open floor plan between the kitchen and living room, and a deck with a comfortable patio set and gas grill. There are two sliding glass doors that lead from the living room to the deck, which allow for nice lake views through the surrounding trees. Four adults or three adults and two children can sleep comfortably in this one bedroom cottage with a queen-size bed, a twin-size bed, and a full-size pullout couch.

The lakefront has a shaded area with a bonfire ring and picnic table, as well as a sunny dock. You can borrow the owner's 2 kayaks, peddle boat, and row boat, and use life preservers and extra chairs that are kept in the boat shed. There's something for everyone, including swimming, boating, kayaking, long walks along a dirt road through vineyards, fishing, and romantic evenings watching the sunset and drinking local wine.

Amenities:

- luxurious bathroom with whirlpool tub

- fully stocked kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and cooking/eating utensils

- clean linens provided

- clothes washer and dryer

- 45 feet of lake frontage

- 2 kayaks, 1 peddle boat, and 1 row boat

- parking for two vehicles

- queen-size bed in bedroom, twin-size bed in main room, and full-size pullout couch in living room

- the lakefront has a shaded area with a bonfire ring and picnic table, as well as a sunny dock. You can borrow the owner's 2 kayaks, peddle boat, and row boat, and use life preservers and extra chairs that are kept in the boat shed

- access to the lake frontage from the yard is by way of a sturdy staircase or by a short road that goes around the neighborhood (about 1/4 mile to our frontage). The staircase has about 75 steps. The run for the steps is 11 inches, which is nice, and there are three decks with benches, in case anyone needs to rest or wants to see the view. It's also very handy to be able to drive down if you're carrying coolers, towels, etc., or are taking some small kids down all at once. The road is for limited use, especially on busy weekends, but it is there when you need it.

Beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

We took a short, last minute getaway and couldn't be happier! Mary was very accommodating with our late check in time. The cottage is charming and comfortable. We had just as much fun relaxing on the deck and dock as we did jumping from winery to winery (all which are very close to the cottage). The views are amazing and it is a perfect place to escape. We already started discussing another trip in June and hopefully will be able to enjoy a summer weekend at Seneca Lake!

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing long weekend getaway at the cottage. On arrival everything was very nice and clean. The cottage is nicley decorated and very cozy. Perfect for a couple's retreat. And the sunset views over the lake are spectacular! There's nothing better than having your morning coffee out on the deck while taking in the air off the lake. The cottage was the perfect place to retire after a day of exploring the local wineries and breweries around the lake. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to visiting again! Thank you Mary and Mike for opening your home to us!

Loved this little getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cozy Cottage. It was wonderfully quaint with everything we needed. There were even propane tanks left over from the renters before us so we could cook on the grill our first night there without having to stop at walmart first. We paid that forward when we left for the next renters because it was such an awesome surprise. Having the kayaks and the paddle boat was by far the best perk and we used them every day. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were very clean and the fenced yard was such an added bonus for our dogs. They enjoyed themselves just as much as we did. As Mike and Mary told us before we came, be sure to bring water shoes if you plan on swimming - the rocks will hurt if you don't! Definitely recommend this place.

Cute cottage getaway for two!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted a getaway weekend in the Watkins Glen area. This cottage was the perfect fit. Nice location with a beautiful deck and dock area. The view is spectacular. We cooked out and enjoyed an evening fire down on the beach. The area is fabulous for site seeing, wine tasting and great food! We will go back again!

WORDS CAN'T DO IT JUSTICE!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great week at The Cottage that we added an extra night onto our stay! Neither my words nor the pictures on the website can do The Cottage justice. Just the drive down through the vineyards is breathtaking enough...but once you get into the cottage and see how cozy/comfortable/welcoming it is, you feel immediately "at home". Then, open the sliding door and go out onto the deck and look out onto Seneca Lake...take a deep breath and look out at the mesmerizing blue water and get ready for a relaxing time away from whatever your reality is.

The Cottage is set amongst some of the best wineries and restaurants of the Finger Lakes. In addition, just a 30 minute drive will get you to Geneva (northern point of the lake) or Watkins Glen (southern point).

Mary and Mike are great hosts and were so kind to come down to The Cottage to show us how to work the fireplace (which heats the cottage VERY well) properly. We were also pleased to meet their dog, Seneca, who adorably played fetch with us. If you have a dog/s, The Cottage is perfect with the fenced in yard and fun steps down to the waterfront.

Seriously, the pictures in the listing are very accurate, but you can't hear the sounds of the "rustic trio of Wind, Waves, and Wood" that make Seneca so special....which is why you need to go to The Cottage and listen for yourself.

ps...find the Queen's Cottage...it's a magical place ;)
