Delaware Chalet Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Overlooking a tranquil pond and stream, the two-story bank of windows and deck in the front of this house make you feel as if you are living in a tree house in the forest. It's truly a tranquil escape from every day life.

Two downstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs loft bedroom has its own bath. The living area on the first floor includes a convenient gas fireplace, flat-screen television with cable and DVD player, a kitchen with an island and dining area. The basement game room has a TV/DVD player, pool table, boardgames, and a Wii. It makes a great playroom. The house includes a hot tub and is equipped with free wi-fi.

This newer construction gives you all the comforts of home but all the quiet and beauty of nature. Sitting on the deck, you can enjoy the sound of the stream flowing past and the panorama of the pond, hemlocks and white pine trees. The area abounds with wildlife and breathtaking foliage in the fall, amazing snowy landscapes in the winter, and lush greenery in the spring and summer. This cozy house sits on seven acres for a secluded atmosphere, a real sense of getting away from the noise and bustle of civilization.

The Benefits at this Chalet: This house is walking distance to Childs Park and a short drive to the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Hike from house to Dingmans Falls and Childs Park waterfalls. Near to Raymondskill and Bushkill Falls too! Only a few miles from the Delaware River, which features canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and of course, great fishing. The 32-mile McDade trail follows the river and is perfect for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing. The nearby town of Milford, PA features fine restaurants, galleries, and antiquing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a wonderful week in this log chalet. Everything about the home was wonderful. Such a peaceful setting, it was easy to forget about our busy lives and just relax. Everyone agreed we would love to stay here again. We all enjoyed the hot tub too. Our dog thought we chose this home just for him since he was in swimming at the pond everyday. We also enjoyed having campfires in the evenings. All in all - the perfect week!

Excellent stay at fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

When we walked in we felt immediately welcome. From the small box of chocolates and welcoming card to cabinets stocked with everything we might need during our stay (right down to a garlic press!) we felt more like we were borrowing the home of a close friend. The home is warmly decorated, immaculately clean and very comfortable. My boys enjoyed playing pool and having access to the WII downstairs. Everything about the stay was excellent. We even had a nice stack of firewood, some firestarter and even matches for a nice fire one evening. There is so much to do around the area that we will definitely be visiting again and staying here!

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

This place was easily my favorite home away I have ever stayed in. To start things off it was as clean as anywhere i have ever stayed, hotels included. no dirt no dust no chipped paint or old furniture. Great Pool table, Great hot tub placed overlooking the pond and the pond was a constant source of ralaxtion. They say it sleeps 6 but another owner would list this as sleeping 8. spacious and well maintained. The fire pit is beautiful and the kitchen is well stocked.

this is a real gem and only 2 1/2 hours from NYC

WONDERFUL GETAWAY!!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at this chalet and look forward to returning for another visit! We had extremely cold weather and snow during our stay, but that did not stop us from enjoying the fire pit, the hot tub and hiking right on the property. We even ventured out to the nearby waterfalls that were absolutely beautiful. The chalet is spaced out very well so we never felt like we were in each other’s way, yet had enough room to all hang out as well. The chalet provides a very comfortable setting to sit back, relax and enjoy family and friends. I have never been in a rental as clean as this one. The dogs LOVED running through the woods and being free!! When I think of going to the Poconos this is the type of place I imagine. And if that isn’t enough, the owners were nothing but extremely responsive and kind. They even refunded us for a day when we had to leave a little early. Thank you for providing us such a wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful Getaway Week

  • 5 of 5

I rented this chalet with my friends for a special birthday week, and it certainly did not disappoint!

It was a rocky start: when we got to the chalet, we found there was no power (because of a situation outside of their control). Tom kept us abreast of the situation with the power company, and proactively offered to refund us the first night if the power didn't return by evening - a promise he didn't have to keep, but definitely appreciated nonetheless.

Everything about the chalet was exactly as advertised: the hot tub was amazing, and we wound up making several family style meals in the kitchen. With the outdoor space, the living room/kitchen, and the game room downstairs, there was more than enough room to spread out. I was also pleasantly surprised by how clean everything was.

Although we had planned several outings, we spend most of our time on the property. There was enough land for us to explore the woods a bit, and although we went into town for antiquing & a meal or two, we didn't need much more than what we had to relax and enjoy ourselves. We did go on one day trip for zip-lining up in Skytop, PA, which was a bit of a hike, but amazing for it.

I'd definitely recommend a week here. We generally like going somewhere different every year, but if I ever want to repeat a trip, this would be on the top of our list.

Priceless vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancée & two chihuahuas "kids" were so very blessed to have been able to stay at this beautiful home for a week! The home is nestled away from prying eyes & was as comfortable as it was beautiful! The home was clean & had so many amenities! The owners were even thoughtful enough to have a gift of yummy chocolates waiting for us when we arrived! The views & sounds of nature were breathtaking & the hot tub at night under the stars unforgettable! Just when you think that it couldn't get any better, you wonder on the property to find a magical pond & waterfall! My fiancée & I enjoyed fishing while the kids explored & were even able to catch a feisty catfish! (We throw all the fish back, so you can get to meet him too!) The only negative to the entire stay was when the neighbors ran a generator to drain their pond for two days & then the other neighbors started to cut down trees with a chain saw for half a day. But, the home owners were aware of the issue & reimbursed us for the two days rental! The vacation was a one-of-a-kind, priceless vacation!
