About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Overlooking a tranquil pond and stream, the two-story bank of windows and deck in the front of this house make you feel as if you are living in a tree house in the forest. It's truly a tranquil escape from every day life.

Two downstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs loft bedroom has its own bath. The living area on the first floor includes a convenient gas fireplace, flat-screen television with cable and DVD player, a kitchen with an island and dining area. The basement game room has a TV/DVD player, pool table, boardgames, and a Wii. It makes a great playroom. The house includes a hot tub and is equipped with free wi-fi.

This newer construction gives you all the comforts of home but all the quiet and beauty of nature. Sitting on the deck, you can enjoy the sound of the stream flowing past and the panorama of the pond, hemlocks and white pine trees. The area abounds with wildlife and breathtaking foliage in the fall, amazing snowy landscapes in the winter, and lush greenery in the spring and summer. This cozy house sits on seven acres for a secluded atmosphere, a real sense of getting away from the noise and bustle of civilization.

The Benefits at this Chalet: This house is walking distance to Childs Park and a short drive to the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Hike from house to Dingmans Falls and Childs Park waterfalls. Near to Raymondskill and Bushkill Falls too! Only a few miles from the Delaware River, which features canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and of course, great fishing. The 32-mile McDade trail follows the river and is perfect for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing. The nearby town of Milford, PA features fine restaurants, galleries, and antiquing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a wonderful week in this log chalet. Everything about the home was wonderful. Such a peaceful setting, it was easy to forget about our busy lives and just relax. Everyone agreed we would love to stay here again. We all enjoyed the hot tub too. Our dog thought we chose this home just for him since he was in swimming at the pond everyday. We also enjoyed having campfires in the evenings. All in all - the perfect week!

What a truly beautiful property!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Away from the hustle and bustle, quiet, peaceful and serene. The house itself is beautiful and super comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Charm and Luxury

  • 5 of 5

The host was great with communication. We had no issue with the property- WiFi and full kitchen, hitting and pool table were amazing. Great firepit and the stream and pond outside lulled us to bed. Also close to NYC and will be looking to return in the future.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Let me start out by saying that I rarely write reviews but this experience is definitely worth one. I have looked at several places before choosing this one, and I was very pleased with everything the rental had to offer. The owner, Tom, was more than helpful with everything we needed and was very responsive. The chalet is very clean and comfortable. The property's location is superb and is very close to trails if you care for hiking. I plan on returning in the future and I would highly recommend for everyone who would like to visit the area.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place is absolutely amazing. It had everything as promised and more. The owner even added a personal touch to things making us feel welcome. We were able to bring our dogs and they had fun exploring the property around the cabin. We were even lucky to get some snow while we were here making it even more beautiful outside. The owners have everything you would need. It was really appreciated. We would definitely return.

Wonderful relaxing retreat

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect, lovely experience! The house was incredibly comfortable and well-kept, and furnished with everything we could have asked for. The surrounding land was lovely even in the cold; we braved the freezing weather to explore the pond, brook and hills with no regrets! Would come back here in a heartbeat, it's a great home for a couple or a bigger group.
