About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Overlooking a tranquil pond and stream, the two-story bank of windows and deck in the front of this house make you feel as if you are living in a tree house in the forest. It's truly a tranquil escape from every day life.

Two downstairs bedrooms share a bath. The upstairs loft bedroom has its own bath. The living area on the first floor includes a convenient gas fireplace, flat-screen television with cable and DVD player, a kitchen with an island and dining area. The basement game room has a TV/DVD player, pool table, boardgames, and a Wii. It makes a great playroom. The house includes a hot tub and is equipped with free wi-fi.

This newer construction gives you all the comforts of home but all the quiet and beauty of nature. Sitting on the deck, you can enjoy the sound of the stream flowing past and the panorama of the pond, hemlocks and white pine trees. The area abounds with wildlife and breathtaking foliage in the fall, amazing snowy landscapes in the winter, and lush greenery in the spring and summer. This cozy house sits on seven acres for a secluded atmosphere, a real sense of getting away from the noise and bustle of civilization.

The Benefits at this Chalet: This house is walking distance to Childs Park and a short drive to the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Hike from house to Dingmans Falls and Childs Park waterfalls. Near to Raymondskill and Bushkill Falls too! Only a few miles from the Delaware River, which features canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and of course, great fishing. The 32-mile McDade trail follows the river and is perfect for biking, hiking and cross-country skiing. The nearby town of Milford, PA features fine restaurants, galleries, and antiquing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a wonderful week in this log chalet. Everything about the home was wonderful. Such a peaceful setting, it was easy to forget about our busy lives and just relax. Everyone agreed we would love to stay here again. We all enjoyed the hot tub too. Our dog thought we chose this home just for him since he was in swimming at the pond everyday. We also enjoyed having campfires in the evenings. All in all - the perfect week!

Everything we were looking for in a remote getaway. The host was perfect, available but not present. The cabin immaculate with those little extras that make the difference. Did not need the box of chocolates but do appreciate. See ya soon. Keep the hot tub warm!

Stunning!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful Chalet nestled in the mountain side along with the sound of the running stream. The location was so tranquil, romantic, and peaceful, with all of the comforts of home. When you open the door, you are immediately relaxed by the openness of the high ceilings and the gorgeous views. So many windows! We played pool, relaxed in the hot tub; there are games and books to read too. We hiked the trail at Dingman's Falls which was only a few miles away, breathtaking. There is a corner store just in case you forgot anything. We cooked every day so bring what you like because you will so enjoy the seven acres. We brought both of our German Shorthaired Pointers and they were exhausted. The house is very clean and we really appreciate the fine details. This is a stunning Chalet; can't wait to return!

Just Like Home

  • 5 of 5

We loved Tom's cabin in the woods. The cabin was clean and the sleeping accommodations were excellent. Although it was 17 degrees outside, we were warm and cozy as we sat around the fireplace. The kitchen is well supplied if you want to eat in but there are some good restaurants nearby. The property behind the house is very picturesque with a pond and small waterfall. If the weather permits there is a well arranged fire pit with plenty of chairs. The upstairs loft is spacious and a great place to relax and read. There is a basement which is equipped with a pool table. Tom was also kind enough to readjust our schedule when we had to leave a day early. If you come in the summer or spring there's plenty to do in the surrounding countryside.

Amazing House In A Quiet Location In The Poconos

  • 5 of 5

The property was in amazing condition. Tom, the owner made sure everything was in top shape. The house is gorgeous and spacious. My twin daughters who are 13 loved the basement area that had a pool table and wii. We all enjoyed being in the cold outside while soaking in the 102 degree hot tub. We left with many memories and are already looking for the next opportunity to come back again soon. It was worth every penny!!!

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week at the Chalet. Everything you would need is there and yet a town was not far away if anything was forgotten. The property was very clean and far enough away from other houses that it felt isolated. It is close to Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area that we had plenty to keep us busy. The hiking was terrific and coming back to a fireplace that was cozy and heated the home was a bonus on those cold nights. We saw deer on the property and other small wildlife. This is a gem and really, I feel as if I should keep it a secret, yet the other reviewers were not wrong in their experiences. The owner was great to deal with and we would love to come back for another stay.
