BlueSea Bungalow is a great place to make memories! This cozy home built in 2015 is comfortably furnished with a nautical/beach motif throughout. Everyone can fit around the large dining table in the great room, or around the spacious fire pit outdoors. Fire up the BBQ, pull up a chair and relax. Soaring eagles occasionally fly over our large open yard, which is great for lawn games in the summer. Enjoy a game of horseshoes or croquet in the back yard. This open space and rural setting is perfect for star gazing while sitting with friends around the camp fire.
In the (rare) case of inclement weather you can still enjoy fresh air and view of Westcott Bay from the covered front porch, or stay warm inside with a cozy fire in the wood stove.
There's a nearby private community access to Westcott Bay, which is down a short nature trail (be careful to watch for stickers and uneven footing) and then an easy scramble down the bank. Limited beach, but a great place to sit and watch for seabirds, etc.
BlueSeaBungalow's Master Suite has a queen-sized bed and is connected to a continental bathroom. The 2nd bedroom is upstairs with a quaint pitch-ceiling, and is furnished with antiques. While all rooms on the West side can see Westcott Bay, there's an especially nice view from this relaxing upstairs room with a full-sized bed. Cute 3/4 bathroom upstairs as well. The living room's comfortable futon couch converts into a bed. The kitchen is fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances and plenty of dishes, cookware, spices etc., so feel free to save a little money by eating in.
The Oyster Farm is just at the end of our quiet neighborhood (open summer months only). A connector trail to English Camp and Mount Young is also at the end of the street near the farm and lagoon. There's a shorter trail to the tip of the lagoon where you can look out towards the mouth of Westcott Bay, which is really popular for boaters in the summer.
It's a short 1.5 miles to Roche Harbor, where you can rent kayaks, SUP's, etc. and check out the beautiful garden and historical sights.
After your day of fun activities, you'll likely appreciate the full sized washer and dryer, comfortable bedrooms and a well-appointed full kitchen. Definitely a home-away-from-home feel!

About Valerie and Rob
We purchased this property as an empty lot near the end of the recession, then used a 5th wheel on it for years as we worked towards building our cabin. We invested a lot of sweat equity into making this a great vacation home.
Valerie and Rob purchased this House in 2012
Why Valerie and Rob chose Friday Harbor
This is a prime location on our favorite island, but it's easy to visit the other islands as well.

Comfortable and Peaceful
The home is very nicely furnished with everything we needed, and Valerie and Rob were super responsive!
The perfect getaway spot on San Juan Island. Sweet bungalow.
The bungalow has everything you need. We saw lots of wildlife, took long walks, ate well and laughed long.
Great home in a beautiful setting.
Beautiful home. Great setting. Great hosts.
Delightful home in a very nice location, close to Roche Harbor. Loved the nautical theme in the house. We very much enjoyed our stay despite the clouds and rain. We hope to return some day.
Exactly as advertised - perfect!
This is obviously a well-loved home. Very clean, TONS of extras in the kitchen, towels, even emergency toothbrush kits! This home is utterly charming, and our entire experience from start to finish was fabulous. Thank you Valerie for being so communicative and helpful!
Beautiful views and Charming home
The San Juan Islands are a famous vacation destination full of beautiful scenery and fun things to do. San Juan Island is the 2nd largest island in terms of both size (55 sq miles) and population (7,000k?). Several whale watching businesses are based on the island, using either motor boats or kayaks. The famous Lime Kiln Lighthouse is on the the picturesque west side of the island, a favorite stopping point for orcas. There are both state and national parks on the island with beach access and trails. Plenty of small town shops and restaurants in Friday Harbor, plus a bowling alley and movie theater. There's a brewery in FH now: the San Juan Island Brewery, fun place for kids thru adults. In the summer you can enjoy the marina at Roche Harbor from the deck of an historic restaurant, and watch their nightly "retiring the colors" flag ceremony. Don't be startled when the cannon is fired! Some chose to ride bikes or rent scooters to buzz around the island, and there's even a zip line running in the summer. Horseback rides are also available. Or simply lounge on one of the many beaches and watch for sea life from the shore.
Three other islands can be reached via ferry for day trips.
Given the popularity of the San Juans, the state ferry system now takes reservations -- which we totally recommend. Plan ahead and make your reservations ASAP, but do know that more openings happen 2 days prior to the sailing. So if you at first can't reserve on your most desired sailing, we would recommend making a reservation on your 2nd choice and then checking back later to see if it's possible to change. Here's the address of the ferry schedule, you'll want to check that first to see your options. Note that there are a couple boats that go directly from Anacortes to Friday Harbor, but many that stop at another island. http://www.wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/Default.aspx

Rates & Availability
Additional information about rental rates
We charge an extra $10 per person per night for up to 2 guests over the total of 4. So our rates are set for up to 4 people, but we'll allow up to 6 to stay overnight. Note that the "average nightly rate" noted by this software is the very lowest rate for a week-long period (in which one night is free) so please ignore it.
