We are so lucky to have stayed at the Blue Barque. The house was very quiet, peaceful, and elegant. I love the way it is very conducive to a family spending time with each other. There is plenty of space and we could always find a quiet place to decompress. We loved eating outdoors and playing games in the yard. Words can't describe the beauty of the beach. Thank you for being great hosts! Your home was very welcoming and extremely relaxing.
Regardless if it is your first time on the Vineyard or 50th time, you can not miss staying at this property. The beautiful interior and grounds take you away into your own private living. It is quiet, great for all ages and in close proximity to Chilmarks hot spots. The private beach you have access to is absolutely stunning, it is paradise!
My husband and I spent a week on vacation with our family at the Blue Barque and could not have imagined a more prefect location! With a gorgeous patio, comfortable and spacious interiors, and a private beach nearby the Blue Barque was the perfect place for us to relax and spend quality family time together. This stunning home truly has it all and provided the perfect getaway for us. We look forward to returning again on our next vacation!
We arrived at the Blue Barque on Sunday afternoon and met up with family and friends. What can I say except it is the most amazing getaway on the Vineyard. Dan and Jen were such great hosts and to say the house was charming is an understatement. Every detail was top notch and first class. I try to decide what my favorite part was, and I finally realized it was everything. The great porch, the spacious backyard, the private beach, the outdoor shower, the easy access to the restaurants, coffee at Alley's.......I could go on and on. What a great vacation at an absolutely great house on a great island with fantastic hosts, family, and friends. Will be back again!
I haven't been to Martha's Vineyard before and LOVED it. And it all started with Blue Barque. The home is beautiful with cozy places to sit and read as well as enough space for family games. Every detail is thought out with guests in mind and it is impeccable. The private beach was amazing and peaceful. As I walked through the door, I felt at home - and wished I was!
What an absolutely lovely spot! We spent a week at the Blue Barque with family and friends and had a wonderful vacation with just enough adventures to round out the trip. My favorite was relaxing with coffee in the morning on the yellow adirondack chairs, overlooking the beautiful gardens and fields. And of course the outside shower was a big hit! The house is decorated beautifully and has many niches for reading and resting. Absolutely everything we needed was in the house, including beach accessories. The beach was close by and long enough to take walks where we enjoyed the ocean scenery. Jen and Dan were gracious hosts that we now consider friends.
Beautiful, classic, upscale and newly renovated farm house behind stone walls. Surrounded by 9 acres of fields and conservation lands, in an area of nature trails for walking, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Only moments from a private beach on Chilmark's famed South shore.
Blue Barque sits on South Road conveniently between two rural villages, so the amenities of each town are but a short drive away. West Tisbury Village is less than a mile and a half mile away. There is a first rate Library and Senior Center, Alley's General Store, ( "if you can't find it here, they don't make it" ) and a twice weekly Farmer's Market and a wonderful foods market, 7 A Foods,.In addition to art galleries, the closest gas and automotive station, the village Congregational Church, and West Tisbury Town Hall, there are farmer's markets, antique and artisan shows during the week. The new Agricultural Hall is further down the road, and the scene of many gatherings and shows.Beyond that, another few miles further, is Up Island Cronig's for groceries and the freshest organic and farm fresh produce and eggs, and a business district with Conroy's Apothecary, Panache beauty salon, a top notch nursey,Vineyard Gardens and several banks. In the other direction, is Chilmark Village, with a Library and active Community Center, and Chilmark General Store, a restaurant ,and, everybody's favorite, Chilmark Chocolates.Just beyond to the North, is the fishing village of Menemsha with shops and restaurants, a gas station and fish markets, right at the waterfront of a quaint New England fishing village.
