This three level townhome offers it all. From widewater views, gorgeous sunsets, flat yard, gated community that offers swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, sandy beach area, covered boatslip, boat luanch, with a storage area for your trailors, and electric down on dock.

3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. This townhome will steal your heart! The main level holds the kitchen, half bath, living room and dining room, with a stunning view from the dining room window. The mountains form a panoramic backdrop framing one of the widest parts of the lake. The pictures simply can not do it justice. Your favorite place will be the covered deck just off the living room. Its perfect for morning coffee or afternoon pina coladas. If you do want to have a meal inside, there is a table that seats 4, although I'd spend every minute I could on the deck enjoying the view! There is a gas fireplace if you are wanting to have a romantic getaway in the fall or winter. The living room has a mounted large screen tv with dish network above the fireplace, and a dvd player if you don't want to miss the release of your favorite movie.

The 2nd level (upstairs) has a master bedroom with a queen overlooking the lake and a balcony with chairs for lounging or working on your tan. There is a 2nd bedroom on that level as well with a king bed.

The 3rd level, at the very top, lets you see the lake from a whole new vantage point. There is another balcony and there are 2 twin beds in the bedroom on this level, which is a huge room and can double as a rec room. There are games, cards, and books for you to enjoy with your family or take with you to the beach or poolside. There is no grill at this home for fire safety, but there is a community grill you can use.

Whether you want to lounge by the pool, get in a game of basketball or tennis, take a swim at the beach, or have drinks on the deck, there is something for everyone with this vacation spot.

Unit was nice. Excellent view. Would've been nice to have all lights and outlets working but overall good unit. Huge problem: goose infestation just plain nasty. There were 30-40 of them there all weekend and they owned the yard, dock and beach. Droppings all in grass forcing you to keep your eyes on the ground at all times. Dock unbelievable--covered with feces, basically unusable except to go straight to boat slip. Swimming can't be safe--water must be full of E. Coli. This is a deal breaker for our returning to this unit or any other in this development. We have grandchildren and they would want to play in the grass and of course, swim--not possible. Note in unit said geese are "part of the lake experience". Well, they are not an acceptable part. I have never seen a place where the property is supposedly managed that is this bad. We had a house on a point at SML for 20 years and we kept them off so I know it can be handled. Other than the geese, this would be a great weekly rental for us in the summer but it cannot happen if this the norm. John Eller

Owner's Response: Dear Mr Eller. ..As you were a 20 year resident of SML, you know we are a popular destination for all sorts of migrating water fowl. The abundant geese are seasonal guests, and yes, a few times a year we have to share our lake with them.They are early AM and late PM visitors. We wear foot gear on the lawn...and broom off the dock when necessary. They are part of the lake experience just like the deer and fish population. People have to recreate around them or opt for a micro managed "Resort". The Lake is notorious for its swift currents. Thousands play in our waters and have no issues. Our little slice of wide open water..beautiful Mt. views and heart melting sunsets is a very special, lovely, affordable lake experience. It's perfect for those who want to have a true Lake Life vacation. Hope you come again when the birds are not migrating. Owner Donna and David Carpenter

Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful and this condo is in a great location - you can walk right out to a small beachy area right outside the condo - our kids loved playing in the sand and swimming in the lake there. It was also very close to the Smith Mountain Lake State Park, which had a number of great programs for kids.

As for the condo itself, it was comfortable enough, but is in definite need of some upgrades and better communication from the rental company. As we were there from Saturday to Saturday, which I don't think is uncommon given a week's stay, we were disappointed that no one was available to answer questions during "check-in" and "check-out". For example, the rental company gave us the wrong unit number, which caused some confusion for us. If someone had been available by phone for us to ask a simple question for clarification, it would have saved us some frustration. In addition, the paperwork from the rental company was not clear at all that our trash needed to be taken to the dump a few miles away upon check-out. Signs in the condo indicated we could store it in the bench outside in the interim, and we incorrectly assumed there was a dumpster on the premises someplace. As we were leaving and went to bring out our trash, there was no dumpster. Thankfully another property owner was around and we were able to ask directions to the dump. We then had to pile our bags of stinky trash into our packed car. It would have been nice if clear instructions and directions had been provided by the rental company.

The unit itself is in need of some upgrades - better lighting in the kitchen, new carpet and flooring, a grill, and Wi-fi access.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I apologize that there was some miscommunication. Our office hours are printed on your direction sheet in bold font as well as the emergency number which is my cell phone and you can reach me anytime after hours. I will certainly pass along your suggestions about internet, kitchen lighting, and flooring. The owners do have the intent to replace the flooring in 2017 as well as some other improvements. I'm sorry it was not clear, but the info about the trash is spelled out on the direction/lockbox sheet, in the lease, and in the info book at the home. It reads: Check Out Instuctions: • Fill out the attached How Did We Do sheet so we can continue to improve each renter’s experience. • Set thermostats to AUTO and 55 in the winter, 80 in the summer. • Take out your trash to nearest dumpsite. $10/bag charge for trash left at the house. • All damages must be reported by checkout to be covered by the Limited Damage Waiver.... Garbage Collection Sites Near Hales Ford Bridge Area: From C B Office , right on 122 4.3 miles. Turn left at the green Bedford County Waste and Recycling Center sign..7AM-7PM. Recycling available Westlake Area: From Food Lion stoplight: Right on 616 apx 3 miles, dumpsters are located at the intersection of 616 and 833 on the right, just acrosss from Brownie’s Auto Parts. Near the State Park or Mountain View Shores: 2967 Fairview Church Rd. At White House store, turn Left on 608, apx 2 miles, Left on Fairview Church Rd. Recycling available Village East, High Point, Hickory Cove: On 655 just past the VDOT Garage take a left at large water tower, 3.0 miles from 122. 7AM-7PM. Recycling available
