The casita was everything it promised plus so much more! Clean and well stocked with anything needed to make meals or snacks. The property is beautiful and a treat to explore. The private wine tasting from Janice at Viluko was enjoyed by all. Highly recommend it! If you a looking for a place for one or two couples to get away from it all (yet only a 20 min drive or so into town) - this is for you.
Just enjoyed 9 night stay at the Casita. The communication before the trip was excellent. Instructions were easy to follow for an evening arrival. Easy access to the wine scene in Napa and Sonoma counties, as well as craft beer and airport in Santa Rosa. The Casita was a great place for a solo visit, my sister did join me for a few days at the end. Good for solo up to 2 couples stay.
Highlights: walking trail, daily sighting of fauna including deer and fox, luxurious rustic accommodations, safe, very good wine tasting, and easy to follow departure instructions.
AT&T recommended if you need WiFi. I used my Hotspot and had no problems attending two Scype meetings.
I will recommend this place to friends/colleagues looking for a get away.
We had an awesome time, it was relaxing and just what we needed. The grounds are beautiful, the creek was soothing to the ear, the garden was in between plantings but still there were things to pick and added a nice zing to our breakfast. The walk to the vineyards was a bit of a climb but well worth it. The location was perfectly located to spend time on either side of the mountain. Don't miss out on the Estate Malbec and the Estate Cabernet vintage 2012. They were our favorite. Thanks to Janice for spending time with us in the barn and explaining Viluko wines to us. We can't wait to plan a return trip. Thanks for everything Donnie and Nancy
We were very impressed with the location as well as the amenities. The fact that there is no tv, coverage (verizon) or internet was a bonus. Time to reflect, read, nap and such was wonderful. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could think of and it was all top notch. All the kitchen knives were sharp and the general thoughtfulness of everything was great. There were hiking trails and roads to explore as well as a creek that ran by the casitas. Shopping was 15 minutes away and there is a great market called Olivers that had everything you might need. Do partake in the wine tasting there as the wines are very good for such a young vineyard. Pedro is an artist! We put together a charcuterie plate for the tasting so do plan a tasting around noon in the barn. The whole experience was fantastic and will certainly come back soon!
Our stay couldn't have been any better! The quiet and natural setting provided the perfect getaway but is central to so many local wineries and shops. The Casita is wonderfully appointed and very comfortable. We had a private Viluko wine tasting in the restored barn and watched the deer and turkey every day. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property.
The property is a half an hour drive to town and down a pleasant mile or so lane - very quiet and private. The house is well-done and comfortable providing the ability to stay inside or walk outside. There were just the two of us, but the house could easily manage two couples. We enjoyed cooking and staying at the house. Our favorite part was the wine tasting tour we took around the property - Freida was our guide and it was only the two of us with her. I'm not much of a wine drinker and I felt Freida, very politely, brought 'down' the tasting sophistication to my level making me feel comfortable and enjoying the experience. The two hours we spent with her along with the overall environment was very pleasant.
We went to Napa as a surprise anniversary getaway and my wife was ecstatic with the entire experience. We travel considerably for work and this environment really brought the pace down and allowed nice relaxation. Now, for folks who want a more lively stay, the patio, the kitchen, the hot tub would certainly afford that too.
I do not rate many places five-star, but this spot and experience deserves it.
