Rumah Jempiring (which means Gardenia House) was built one year ago, but was extensively refurbished and landscaped last month.
It's located in the rice fields of Penestanan, a short walk up from the main road and along a narrow path.
Our location ensures privacy and quiet, away from the traffic and insanity of downtown Ubud, but close enough to walk there in 10-15 minutes, or take a car or bike to town.
Jempiring is a wonderful self-contained bungalow with everything you need for a relaxing visit.
It has a king-sized bed, good quality bed linen and towels, air con, a garden bathroom with shower, sun loungers, private pool, walled garden, TV/DVD player and a fully equipped kitchen.
Our housekeepers come by daily to clean and cook breakfast (thought by many to be the best in Ubud), with a choice of eggs, french toast, mie goreng (Indonesian noodles), pancakes, black rice pudding, and of course our artisan breads, homemade jams, yoghurt, and tropical fruits.
We live in the best neighborhood in Ubud with many restaurants, yoga studios, galleries, clothing shops, and a great supermarket a stones throw away. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but many people like it that way.
Walk out your front door and turn right and you'll find yourself in the middle of the rice fields, surrounded by ducks and old men in straw hats working the land.
What a wonderful place to stay when visiting Ubud. A little way out of town, it was a relief to have calm and quiet after returning from Ubud. The walk into town was further then we thought, but inexpensive (a few dollars)transport was always available. Our bungalow was beautiful and Pia was so welcoming, always smiling and baking something special. Dayu's breakfasts, delicious. We also loved the area restaurants and spas. Having a pool during monsoon season was also a plus. We hope to return soon.
We stayed here for 7 nights with our 10 month old son. Everything was great, we were so pleased we chose Rumah Jempiring having looked at many, many different options in Ubud. The location was perfect - away from the crowds in central Ubud, but also mopeds of other Ubud outskirts. Also close to the supermarket (useful for stocking up on nappies!) and lots of lovely restaurants in walking distance. We were really looked after by Dayu and the team. Lovely, plentiful breakfasts and big smiles really made our stay.
This private villa in Ubud is absolutely amazing. So private and peaceful. The garden is amazing and the pool is a welcome relief after a long walk. The breakfasts prepared daily by either Dayu or Pia are awesome. The omelettes are the best we have ever had!! The communication from Barbara is exceptional. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be returning.
