Escape to a perfect Texas small town retreat in this original 1890 Smithville jewel. Gresham House was artistically restored in 2013 to include modern amenities, great, open spaces with high ceilings, tall windows and plenty of natural light. A cook’s counter top centers the kitchen, overlooking the large bar to the TV room. The joining dining room opens to a cathedral ceiling featuring original stained glass, with views and french doors opening to the magnificent oak tree. Featuring 2 beautiful bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen) with private baths, plus 2 single sleep sofas with bedding and 1/2 bath off the TV room. Located in the heart of Smithville’s historic neighborhood and just a stroll to Main Street, enjoy antique stores, coffee shops, restaurants and the Railroad Museum while enjoying the town’s relaxed, friendly personality.
Wanted to get out of the city and decided on Smithville just out of the blue. Great town with great people and house added to the charm of it. Everything is close and make sure you go to the comfort café for breakfast and honey's for dinner.
Staying in this house was a great experience! Making the reservation and accessing the house was no problem at all. This house is beautiful ~ the design and decor are great, and it was very clean. The beds are comfortable, there are plenty of clean towels in the bathrooms, and there is every kitchen utensil you would need, toaster, coffee maker, lots of dishes, and a clean, large refrigerator. The front porch is perfect for hanging out and relaxing. There's a gorgeous tree in the front yard with spotlights. Really loved this house!! Thank you!
The Gresham house was home base during a wedding weekend. We had plenty of room to spread out and entertain. The third half bath came in handy. Julia was available for last minute details. The neighborhood location was perfect and centrally located between the wedding venue, Red Ridge Receptions, and all of the other houses or B&B's we rented.
Perfect for our small gathering for a wedding in nearby Bastrop. Front porch was ideal for wine and coffee. Felt very safe in the quaint neighborhood. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time! The house was great,. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and visiting, loved playing dominoes when we returned from shopping the antique sales in Round Top. The house is so well updated. We will be back! Thank you.
