Perfect spot for the 4th or running of the ponies

  • 4 of 5

I spent a week on Chincoteague and reserved this rental for my family and I. I can't say anything bad about the establishment other than the lack of internet connectivity and residential cable channel availability. It seemed every channel my family wanted to watch was not authorized. The Wi-Fi was one bar at best and looking at the IP addresses assigned there were no less than 20 devices tied to a single residential router. Though we did not spend much time in the unit... The listing is also somewhat unclear that there are four units. I would most certainly stay here again, though I would also search for more amenities.

Owner's Response: We have just recently upgraded both of the systems that you had issues with. There are about 200 channels on the cable network but the equipment that they put in a few months ago has had some major problems. We just had the boxes replaced. We also had a new stronger WiFi signal added to that system. Hopefully you will return and see the differences. Thank you for the review . We really appreciate the input of our customers. Thank you. Nice stay

  • 4 of 5

Overall our stay was nice. We had issues with the tv which the hotel tried to fix quickly. It's a little farther down Main Street than we thought it would be but it was easy to drive to everything.

Owner's Response: Charter, our cable co has some issues with their boxes as well as their service at times. They are working to get everything upgraded. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are located in a quieter part of town but less than 1/2 mile from Historic Main street. We hope you can return soon.

Quiet in March

  • 3 of 5

Plenty of room. Not much natural light. You can see the bay from the porch, but the view is mainly the road, parking lot, and units across the street. Good location to the few other restaurants and shops. We did drink the tap water, but next time I'd bring bottled water.

Nice apartment in lovely town

  • 4 of 5

Nice apartment: good-sized bedrooms; extremely comfortable beds; very comprehensive kitchen equipment; very effective aircon; spacious grounds. An added bonus in being affiliated with the motel across the road: access to motel amenities such as a very nice pool, helpful on-site staff (but who will leave you alone unless you seek them out, so just right). Good location, short walk to everything in town, with plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. The only partial downside was in cleanliness: while the apartment did smell of cleaning products when we arrived, my wife found a previous occupant's trash (stuff like plastic water bottles) under the beds. Not a huge deal, but I just found that a bit surprising for a place that charged a substantial damage deposit. Anyway, the owner seems to take pride in the place, so I suspect this won't be repeated. Pretty good value, you could easily pay a lot more, especially for 2 good-size bedrooms and a kitchen.

Just ok

  • 3 of 5

Expensive place for what you get. We've stayed in much nicer, better equipped places than this at better prices. There was sand on the floor when we arrived as well. If you plan to dock a boat at the hotel pier good luck as it is extremely shallow! Wish someone mentioned this before we went aground. The only nice thing about this place was the staff across the street at the hotel. They were great!

Owner's Response: We ask that any issues with our properties be addressed as soon as possible. We were not told of any problems that these customers had during their stay. Often guests want to check out late and other guests want to check in early not always allowing us the time we need to check rooms in between . The stay includes a full breakfast for the guests and all of the amenities that go with the hotel. Including free boat docking at our pier. The water path is clearly marked with pvc pipes to indicate the deepest route to dock your boat. If anyone has any questions regarding the depth please call the hotel directly. We have not had anyone to my knowledge have an issue with running aground if they follow the path. Most of our customers believe our facility is extremely clean and our customer service cannot be beat. I don't think anyone offers as many amenities as we do for the cost. This review is not typical of our customers experience.
