Overview

About the property

4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Vacation Home Close to Beaches with Inground Pool and Pond

All the elements of a true Cape Cod vacation with a spacious home (over 3,000 square feet) as your base. Eastham is a treasure town filled with a variety of activities. You could be a 2.8 mile bike ride or drive to Coast Guard Beach, #8 on Dr. Beachs’ 2014 top 10 beaches in the United States. Nauset Light Beach is just a bit further up along the coast. Want calmer waves? Go to the bay side where First Encounter Beach is just 2.2 miles away. From this house, enjoy easy access to the Cape Cod bike trail.

The house is part of the Whispering Pines Development, a pine tree clustered group of 17 homes. This was originally the main house with three connected units that are now combined into one. In the spirit of Caddyshack, you have access on the property to “a pool and a pond”. Mill Pond, at the end of a cul-de-sac, is a fresh water kettle pond with a picnic area and small sandy beach. Try your hand at fishing in the pond. The pond is not the best for swimming, but the in-ground pool next to the house should do the trick. There is also a small play area. It is a short stroll to the Eastham Windmill for summer concerts and Eastham Superette for groceries and great subs.

There are 4 bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The upstairs master bedroom is spacious with a king size bed and a private bathroom. A 2nd master bedroom is connected to the reading room area and has a queen sized bed. With two closing doors from the main entrance, this room is nice for privacy. A 3rd bedroom has 3 twins and the 4th bedroom has 2 full sized beds. 3 full bathrooms total. Kitchen is a bit tight and tired. It has a small kitchen table and a second larger table in the open living room area.

After a day at the beach, hang outside on the patio and grill away. We try to include as many amenities as possible to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Mi Casa Su Casa.

We are new owners and are in the process of updating the amenities. Our goal is to help provide you with a home and resources to have a memorable Cape Cod vacation.

Will discount rates for multi-week rentals. Minimum stay is 3 nights during the off season and 7 nights during the summer.

About Jim Freeman

We are relatively new owners to the property and will also be using the home for our personal vacations when it is not rented. We have three great children and work in Boston.

Jim Freeman purchased this house in 2014

Why Jim Freeman chose Eastham

We have been going to the Cape for our entire life and it was finally time to take the plunge and buy our own vacation home. We are still working and with college ahead, we need to be responsible, which is why we are also renting the property. This is a great property to relax, enjoy life and be yourself without being afraid to touch anything. We want you to live your vacation to the fullest and have fun. We will add a number of play items to help you experience a true Cape Cod vacation. The house has space so you will not feel cramped and on top of each other or the neighbors. It is quiet during the day as most people go to the beach, shop, fish, or whatever they wish on the Cape. At night it is a group of 15 homes that share a pond, pool and play area while grilling outside or enjoying cocktails on their decks.

What makes this house unique

Right now, the location is the main attraction. We are fixing up the inside bit by bit to make the property more beautiful.

The place is great- it's a little like living in an antique shop but that adds to the charm!

  • 5 of 5

The house is nice and big with many modern amenities, mixed with old school cape motif. It's very different - very comfortable but has all the cool things you want, Netflix, wii, pool, lake, kayaks, bikes! The owners give you plenty to do so you don't need to lug a lot down with you. Overall it was wonderful!

Cozy and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

We totally enjoyed our home away. It was low key, inviting, enchanting, beautiful area with fishing pond, kayaks, and tennis courts. The property included so many extras to use along with supplying towels and sheets. The owners are renovating and improving the property. Thanks you so much!

On the way up

  • 4 of 5

Overall very positive. All other reviews are right on... This is a property on the way up. Owners are in process of upgrading this tired property. It has nice space with separation of rooms for some privacy or as I case allowing younger ones to go to bed earlier and not be disturbed by the rest of the group. My recommendations for priority improvements would be to put screens in all windows to allow for more breeze since there is no A/C and to change the cleaning company as our overall impression was that the property was not very clean, only very superficially done. Cleaniless may not be as important if rented by a group of adults that are out at the beach everyday but if tailoring to families it is important when you have little kids.

As I said overall property was good and in a great location. If we have another family gathering in the future I would consider staying here again.

A fabulous find

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fabulous visit to Eastham and Cape Cod. Our party consisted of 2 families - so 4 adults and 4 kids and another adult traveler. The house was perfect in terms of size and privacy for all concerned. The owners details are perfect to describe the house and we were certainly not disappointed. The location could not be better to explore the local area by bike or walking and Eastham is an excellent base with quick access to all parts of the Cape. We visited Provincetown one day (you can get a 90 min ferry to Boston city from here) - and got there in less than 40 mins and also to Hyannis to get the ferry to Nantucket Island - also less than 45 minutes. Orleans the next town over is great for a variety of restaurants, grocery stores and an excellent self serve ice-cream shop (the local scoop - a big hit with all !!).

We shopped in the stop and shop in Orleans or the local superette (excellent for sandwiches and subs and last minute items - only a short stroll from the house ), cooked breakfast in the house, made lunch after a visit to the pool or kayaking in the pond and then usually off to the beach and out for dinner - huge range of restaurants - we found mac's shack in wellfleet our no.1 choice. We rounded off each evening by lighting up the outdoor fire and sipped cold beers!! (theres also a gas bbq that we used a couple of nights).

parking is free after 5 at the local beaches ($20 per day) - check out a weekly pass if you're a beachgoer and parking can be difficult after 11-12 on some beaches.

Our favourite things about the house were:

Location and value for money for the number of people in our group

The house is very well stocked in terms of cooking, outdoor eating, towels, linen (all provided), laundry facilities etc

Huge range of possible activities to keep kids occupied as all outlined in owners notes : the Ping-Pong table and pool room were a big hit

Fabulous as a base but also great to chill out in the evenings

Quiet location - most days we had the pool and pond to ourselves

Owners great to deal with &gave us huge amount of info on the area and a great list of "what's good to do" .

One or two of our party found the traffic noise a little annoying in the mornings but I personally did not notice.

There is no aircon in the house but it is so big and there are plenty of window fans provided that we felt it was not really needed - we're from Ireland so we are not really used to warm night time temperatures!

Spacious, needs some updating, not child friendly

  • 4 of 5

Very nice place, but in need of some updates which I feel is properly reflected in the price. Bedrooms were spread out allowing for larger groups to retire at the end of night. Only negative for us was the amount of breakable things withing reach of our two year old. There were glass lamps and glass nick nacks all over the place and the TV wasn't anchored. Great place, right price needs some updates but not for little ones.
