About the property

2BR, 2.5 BA home recently updated that can sleep 6-8. Very roomy, comfy w/view!

Welcome to our Green Mountain Getaway. Set on 2 acres, all behind the house, this dog friendly home features plenty of parking and easy access to Bromley and Stratton, Manchester Center, Manchester Village, Dorest, East Dorset, Arlington, Winhall and surrounding areas.

Enter the mudroom with ½ bath attached and coat closet and cupboard to store ski wear & equipment, the main living area is all open with spacious living room, loft, dining area and kitchen. The loft area overlooks the living room and is a great spot for the kids to hang out with a flat screen t.v. and an xBox 360 and games, two foam loungers that can turn into beds and two additional single air mattresses and sleeping bags/pillows or a queen air mattress with full bedding. The living room features hand hewn beams, rough sawn wood, and wide board floors. Gas brick fireplace, desk area for your computer, 46” new flat screen t.v., DVD player and xFinity Cable which also provides high speed WIFI access. One of the couches folds out to a queen bed with a full linen set. There is a small supply of movies and board games too or listen to music on the Bose radio/CD player.

The dining area is comfortable and can seat 6-8, plus the breakfast bar seats two. The full kitchen is roomy for cooking enthusiasts and features electric solid surface range, full size fridge, new Bosch dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee single serve brewer, new counters, new sink & faucet, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, paper towel supply, and cleaning supplies (should you need them). There are several empty cabinets to keep your dry food stores. There are some basic condiments in the kitchen (but not guaranteed). New vinyl floor in the kitchen and dining area too! Through the French doors is the rehabbed upper level deck with outdoor table & chairs where you can smell the clean VT air and enjoy views of the mountain. The deck and stair surface is Azek which is a non-splintering PVC product that looks like wood. Barefeet welcome.

The bedrooms are downstairs. The master bedroom is very spacious and features a King Size Bed with firm memory foam mattress, flat screen tv, large closet and two dressers plus private bath with small shower, new toilet & new counter and sink. There is a hairdryer and a few travel toiletries for anything you’ve forgotten to pack. There is access to the backyard from the bathroom and the utility room features a full size washer and dryer. There is a full size ironing board and iron in the Master Bedroom. The second bedroom has a brand new Queen Bed, flat screen t.v., slider to rear yard, dresser and empty closet. There is also a small desk and a full set of extra linens. The hall bath has been updated with a new tub/shower, sink & counter, floor and paint. There is a stock of TP and towels. There is a brand new split air A/C system for both bedrooms and main living space on the main floor. Controlled by remotes, you can keep each space just the way you like it! The bedrooms can be a bit cooler and the split systems can give you a quick boost of heat if needed.

This is the vacation home you’ve been looking for a restful and rejuvenating escape. Enjoy all the comforts of home while enjoying a restful vacation. This a great house to reconnect with visiting family and friends. Can’t fit them all in the house to sleep? Across the street is the Four Winds Motel and the Olympia Lodge. Extra guests can sleep right across the street and visit during the day. We have Verizon cell phones and get great service at the house. I can’t vouch for any other services, but I would think they’d be fine.

We have two little dogs and love them to pieces. We know it’s hard to leave pets at home when traveling so we are pet friendly and would love to hear about your furry companions to make sure our home would work for them. It is important that you pick up after your pets, as all good pet owners do, otherwise it will affect your deposit return. We hope you enjoy your stay at our Green Mountain Getaway, please share it with friends, family and co-workers.

***PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT ITEMS***

1. Any cancellation will be subject to a 6% cancellation fee to cover credit card costs.

2. Any requests for pets to accompany your reservation must be approved prior to booking. Pet fee is $50 per pet. Maximum of 2 pets. Dogs must be under 100lbs., over 1 year old and house broken. We have the right to say no to any pet for any reason, even if they fit into this criteria.

3. We require the name and age of each guest.

About Leslie Jermainne

My husband Brian and I live in CT and purchased our Green Mountain Getaway October 2014. We have been rehabbing the home and enjoying it ever since. We have visited Manchester, VT every year for the past 22 yrs. always wishing to own a home there. After our 15 year old son fought cancer in 2013 and became a survivor we learned the lesson to be in the present. We knew how much we loved Manchester and VT and set out to find a special place to spend time. We found it! We love it! And we want to share it with others!

Leslie Jermainne purchased this house in 2014

Why Leslie Jermainne chose Manchester

We love a lot of things about this property. The view of the mountain, the 2 acres of field, the hand hewn timbers in the open Living Room/Kitchen/ Dining Area, the cathedral ceiling, the cozy fireplace and rough sawn wood that adds to the aura of the country. We love the pine floors, the balcony as a great getaway to hang with our son. We love to sit out on the deck and enjoy the view. We love that we are just under 3 miles out of the center of town for the quiet, but we love how quick it is to run in to the grocery store, pick up some coffee at The Spiral Press, or enjoy a meal at the great restaurants. We also love that this is so close to Bromley and only 12 miles to Stratton! The perfect spot!

What makes this house unique

I think our home is unique because it is much more warm and relaxing than a two bed motel room with a mini fridge. You feel like you walk in and it becomes your own private vacation home. It's the BEST!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is a roomy 2 bedroom, very clean and up-to-date home just a couple of miles from the center of town. This is the second year that our family and another took a ski trip in January. The owners are very responsive and professional. We would go back again and again!

great place and location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely little place, roomier than it looks from the outside. Close to Bromely and town. Beds are very comfortable and pullout couch was great for third couple. The one thing I might suggest is getting a coffe maker as the Keurig machine is not ideal for a houseful of people, we also were not aware that there was a keurig machine and not a coffee maker.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your suggestion. I'm sorry you didn't read in the listing about the Keurig machine, as it is listed. But maybe I should include that in my access instruction information in the future. Good idea. I was against Keurig machines myself until our stay at Boston Children's Hospital. I became a convert. A fresh, hot perfectly brewed cup at any time. No waste. No coffee machines left on to burn the coffee or be a safety concern. But I will admit when there is a houseful of people, you do all have to wait in line for a few minutes to get coffee. My son complains. He'd like the coffee to fall out instantly into his cup when he pushes the brew button! LOL! I will add that to my instruction sheet so others can make sure they purchase Keurig cups at the store just in case the selection I try to leave for guests has been used up and not replaced before I get back to visit. Thanks again for letting us host you in our Green Mountain Getaway.

Very well kept, sweet cozy home

  • 5 of 5

We rented Green Mountain Getaway for my sisters bachelorette. She wanted something low key and cozy. This was the perfect place :). The house was so cute and clean. We had no complaints and really felt like we were at home. I highly recommend if you're looking to stay in the area.

Awesome getaway spot!

  • 5 of 5

Green Mountain Getaway was an awesome place for a winter mini-vacation, although we wish we could've stayed much longer! The house is so cozy and oozes rustic charm. The exposed brick, post and beam and barnboard don't mean that it doesn't have lots of updates and creature comforts though. Although only 2 bedrooms, 6 adults, a child and our fur child were very comfortable. Also we were very surprised that you really don't hear road noise even though so close to it. That proves to be a serious bonus when it snows so you don't have to navigate the long windy roads Vermont is famous for. So convenient to both beautiful Manchester center restaurants and shops as well as ski areas. Leslie is a true joy to work with, as she is very prompt, friendly and organized. Definitely recommend and will stay again!

Highly Recommended

The property is immaculate and tastefully decorated. The house is cozy, yet with lots of room: the two of us were quite happy there, and yet our family of six would have been very comfortable. It is close to many of our favorite places, like Northshire Bookstore and the Raven's Den. There is a lovely view from the back deck. The kitchen is nicely equipped, and has everything needed for a relaxing stay. The gas fireplace is lovely. The furniture is comfortable. Communication with the owner was positive and pleasant. We hope to go back next year, and would certainly recommend the Green Mountain Getaway to our friends.

Brand new split system air conditioning with individual remotes keeps you cool in the summer and adds heat boost in the winter on top of gas fireplace and gas warm air heat. Central heating system works great, but you just never know how cold it might get in VT!
