The cabin itself was great! But the neighbors dog would not be quiet. Ever.

Not really happy.... Cabin is close to attractions

  • 2 of 5

Need to work on the heat and jets on the hot tub, also, would be very helpful to have steps to get into the hot tub. Do not mind small and rustic, but would like cleanliness to be in that list.... found places that needed attention upon arriving, then through out the stay. The cabin is very close to many attractions. Cabin is pet friendly.

Owner's Response: I am disappointed to receive a review like this! Greg contacted me upon arrival, and noted several cleaning issues like a frozen ice pack stuck inside the freezer, and some dry pasta on the floor. I told him I'd be happy to send my housekeeper back to the cabin to fix any cleaning issues, but the guest declined. After this, I heard nothing back until receiving this review, and Greg did not respond to my followup text asking what was wrong with the hot tub. Communication goes both ways! I have not had any further complaints about the hot tub from guests who have stayed after him. The suggestion to add steps for the hot tub is a good one; I will price out options for them!

It was the coldesr night in georgia

The cabin is only heatet w a wall unit upstairs and older base board heaters down stairs

The front door has a three inch gap on the bottom and a hole

Where ice cold air enters

Heat rises therefor the bottom heaters cannot catch up

The hot tub only came uo to 97 degrees even though it was fixed and was to work

The cabin itself is nice and spacious but maybe something for only summers

The owner provided a space heater on the last night which somewhat helped

I ended up with a severe cold and sore throat and subsequent pneumonia

I recommend staying tbere only in the summer unless the heating system is completely redone and the front door is fixed

I also had registered my pet ahead of time as i realized but was not charged

After checking out i teceived a bill

Which what we went through

Seemed unfair

Owner's Response: Wow, where do I start? The guest requested an early morning check in because she had been staying overnight at a cabin with no heat, and had developed a cold. She stayed at my cabin for several nights before texting me one night at 11 PM to say that the heat wasn't working. After a back and forth discussions, we determined that both the wall heater over the stairs (which can heat and cool the cabin on its own) was working, and that there was heat coming from all three baseboards. She also indicated that the hot tub would not go above 97. The following morning, I sent my housekeeper to the cabin, with a supplemental heater. My housekeeper reported that the baseboards were all set to Low, that the desired hot tub temperature was set to 97, and that the guest had two (unreported) dogs with her. The housekeeper turned the baseboard heaters to high, set up the extra heater, and adjusted the hot tub temp to 102 (and waited for the temp light to come on, and the temp to increase). I checked back with the guest later that day, and she reported that she was warm and comfortable, and admitted that she had two dogs. I told her I would charge her for one, since she had trouble with the heat dials, and she said she'd be happy to pay it (although she never did). Guest satisfaction is very important to me, but I have to say that I would not rent to this guest again, nor can I recommend her to other property owners.

Perfect getaway cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. It was perfect. Cute bunk bed room for 2 of our kids- they loved this, and nice upstairs bedroom for parents. Great kitchen, everything we needed. The hot tub is amazing-- kids loved it. Perfect area-- close to everything but tucked away in a mountain.
