We throughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin had everything we needed during the stay. The only concern we had was some bugs and the hot tub did not have any chlorine tablets in it but we called and the situation was immediately resolved. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed Anna Ruby falls and walking around town
The property speaks for itself, it's all as advertised. What took our stay above the norm was the support from Kate - we arrived late on Friday night and had a problem with the water pump in the cabin. Kate was on the spot, got us into an alternate (nicer!) cabin just a couple minutes away, and stayed online with us until she was sure we were settled and comfortable. (Kate didn't know, but I had just been released from the hospital, and really needed this "decompression visit". Her support and professionalism ensured a stress-free environment!) Our original rental issue was repaired the next day, and we were trouble free for the rest of our visit. Well worth the price, and we'll be back to Helen and visiting Kate again!
Whispering Woods cabin was a great location for a getaway weekend. It is remote and quiet, but not totally isolated. There are other cabins nearby, and you can sometimes hear them, or see lights in the distance. But you can also sit in the silence of nature on the porch. It has everything you need for a relaxing weekend, including a small but functional kitchen, a grill, a hot tub, comfortable sleeping spaces, and easy access to the parks, sights, and wineries of North Georgia.
The cabin was not clean, dust and cobb webs hung everywhere. We found black mold around the tub and on the towel bars. We killed several roaches over the four days there. The bed was hard and squeaked with every move. The smoke detector kept chirping, the battery was dead and out of date. Overall I didn't feel that our stay was worth the amount we paid. We will not be back.
We absolutely loved this cabin! It has a decent level of privacy and it's quiet. My husband and I needed a break from our dramatic teenager and this cabin was the perfect answer. The hot tub was the perfect remedy for our stresses and tense muscles of parenting. We found a little romance floating together and going to dinner in Helen. We also were so excited to be able to bring our dogs since it was last minute and we couldn't get them a place to stay. She had it listed for a great price and the quality of the cabin and its furnishings were great. And well kept. The internet only worked on the stairs, but it kept us focused on one another. We would definitely go here again in the future.
My boyfriend of two years, 10 months proposed while hiking Amicalola Falls! It was so nice to come stay here after an exciting, new adventure. Only complaint was how poor wife was (only because we had to let the world know..."We're engaged!")
We love Helen and will be spending many more vacations here!
The house was suitable for us and our fur baby, but don't recommend more than 4 total people. Definitely would have gotten lost if we didn't use the detailed directions of how to get back to the house. The inside was very clean and we didn't see any bugs/insects inside the house the entire stay. The hot tub was perfect after all of the hiking we did!!
Kate was great at responding in a timely manner and was super easy to work with.
Located four miles north of Helen, in the Tanglewoods area on Route 356 East.
